Yarrrgh, ye scurvy pirate!

This sounds like something Grandpa Simpson would do..!

Not sure if joking. It's not a diegetic explanation, just the devs' ostensible reasons for doing it. I guess when you stay in one of those hotel room things you get auto-makeovers? Or Wheatley got bored and did it? Perhaps it's one of those things that just don't have an in-game explanation, like how HL2 evolved Barney (and Eli and Kleiner) from being a load of guard clones to one individual.

The best one of all the Haunted House Levels games, imo.

Watching LOTR on a big telly?

You said she fell back into the "overly sexualised female character made with the intentions of providing eye candy" stereotype here: Personally, I think it makes all the difference if the player is actually able to experience something as to whether it can be integrated into an interpretation of a game, especially if you're using terms like "eye-candy". From what Tycho says, though, maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention in this case. Anyway, here's the devs' explanation for it, and some earlier redesigns.

You mean because they made her look a little less strung out she's now an overly-sexualised female, despite the fact that the player can barely see her face at any point?

What games would you make using the "perfect" Kinect?

Looking forward to getting a chance to listen to this. One question, though: is the fact you don't know who you interviewed on Jan 1st 2013 due to amnesia or time-travel or both?

This is from that fan MM remake, right? The German one?

I talked to Terry about this at @cb2indies yesterday. He had heard about it (a LOT) and said it was cool, but they'd got some visual details wrong. I guessed it was possibly to avoid any legal issues...

If you compliment him on them, he says "thanks, I paid a lot for them". Plus, if you look at the glass, you get:

What was in that third? I can't find anything about it. (Synth, I assume you're joking!)

I know there was a peyote hallucination sequence that got cut. Was there a lot more than that?

It's like babysitting James McAvoy.

Saw Filth. McAvoy's great but the film doesn't have much drive or depth, it's just "here's a completely fucked up guy, let's watch him for two hours".

I've enjoyed the Thumbs forums a LOT more once I decided to start using the Ignore Button. I've only used it about four or five times. It does mean I miss out on some hilarious trolling, but overall it makes for a much more pleasant experience.

Walking Dead, Mark of the Ninja, Bioshock 2, The Cave vets form Campo Santo
Ben X replied to JonCole's topic in Video Gaming
Or at least get rid of the confusing Walking Dead/Mark Of The Ninja bit at the start... -
There were unwinnable states in Gilbert's Maniac Mansion and Last Crusade, weren't there? Plus in Zak McKracken (don't know about Labyrinth). It was only around Loom/Monkey Island that they decided to avoid them.

Yesterday I identified a stranger's book from a few metres away with only the back showing as being The Light Fantastic, purely from the distinctive Discworld cover layout and the sky blue of the painting. I was silently proud of my own nerdiness.

Architecture Student attempts video game (hilarity ensues)
Ben X replied to Karimi's topic in Video Gaming
Sounds interesting. I'm guessing they'll want to see some environmental design ideas too - presumably the reason they've asked for "a Garden Of Eden" is because they want to see you design an idyllic beautiful space. So perhaps you could incorporate that into your game design and show a few ideas for it.
