Sigh, I guess I'll resign myself to finding the story out from the show rather than the books, which is a shame. I've slowed down on my re-read now, I'm about halfway through the third book. What I'd really like once I've read all the books is a site or set of Kindle notes or something that basically does a commentary through the whole thing, pointing out all the foreshadowing and hidden details, because I'm sure I'm missing so much. I just looked up THIRD BOOK SPOILERS Duskendale to see if I was missing stuff about why Glover and Tallhart make such a strategic error as to march on it (I guess the implication is that Bolton is sabotaging Robb for Tywin by ordering them to?), and happened to notice that there was a whole plot by Glover and Vargo Hoat to take over Harrenhal, and Arya wasted her last death from Jaqen by facilitating something that was going to happen anyway. This somehow went completely over my head.

Idle Thumbs 195: Business Guys On Planes
Ben X replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Not sure what your point is here. Are you saying that there were no narrative feature films 100 years ago? -
Ugh, tastes like teen spirit.

Yeah, the first Purge was not very good. I didn't see the second one.

Yeah, one DF guy said he liked what he had seen so far of the Singapore stuff, which worries me a bit. Judging from the quality of the MI SEs, I'd much rather DF started from scratch rather than finished off another Lucasarts SE.

No love for the Mel Gibson Hamlet? (Not sure I ever watched it myself.) Re. The Guest and You're Next, these are both now on my watchlist, but only because of many hearty recommendations - they both look like derivative crap!

Did they up-res the That's an important clue that is a little obscured by the low res of the original...

Idle Thumbs 191: Not the Greatest, but the Best

For anyone who didn't click through, there hasn't been an announcement or anything, it's just an unimaginative bit of fan casting turned rumour. -
Why yes, it does happen to be Thrik's work! And perfect for the official theme of this Christmas due to all the jingling bells and that!

DF Vic says: "This has been logged. I can’t guarantee we can update this, but we will certainly investigate."

A week of harrassing tweets for Anita Sarkeesian. Exhausting and infuriating, just for me to read.

Plenty info, thanks! Glad you had a good time! I haven't really looked at it, so I can't vouch for it, but here's a site about death grip if you do think you've lost some sensation due to over-vigorous wanking.

Found the official theme for Christmas 2015, everyone!

Idle Thumbs 191: Not the Greatest, but the Best
Ben X replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Pretty much the only time I see these getting brought up are when they're described as the common complaints with the film. I don't think any of its detractors on here have complained about that stuff (except Labeouf which I think is a valid complaint if you find his bullish, sarcastic screen persona - also see Constantine, I Robot - irritating). As I said above, I think the 1950s/aliens stuff are cool ideas fumbled by the film. I like the Doom Town set-up but not the cartoony resolution. I agree with all your criticisms and have many more! EDIT: oh, I didn't like that Darabont script, though. It's a huge mess. -
Yeah, it sounded like you were considering doing it without her consent ("breaking her trust"). Another option, of course, is to break up with her and find a partner who is happy for you to be in another relationship simultaneously whilst not needing one herself...
-
I would actually prefer this! Dibs - good idea. Maybe I'll start applying for HR jobs...
-
I may be completely misreading this, but it sounds like what you're considering is cheating, not polyamory! Ozzie - how was the sex? Many details, please.
-
It's also a reference back to the first Monkey Island game, where someone is wearing an "Ask Me About Loom" badge. (In "Ben There Dan That!", we had a cameoing character from unfinished adventure game The Forgotten Element wear a similar badge about her own game!)

Of course, but they don't ask how I take criticism, they ask me to come up with an anecdote on the spot. Unless I'm interviewing to be a talk show guest, they're not testing for the right thing. My next interview will require me to do a short aptitude test, then do a 5 minute speech on a prepared question ("How will the forthcoming changes to UK qualifications affect the work of University Admissions departments?"), then a 40 minute interview. The position does not involve me doing presentations or speeches, or require me to lie to my managers in the moment, but that's what they'll be testing for.

Ask for more money, find a way to make more money in your spare time (second job?), or decline and wait until an opportunity allows you to get paid properly for doing it...

Ha ha, totally doing this next time. "When I was working at insert company name, my manager gave me negative feedback for working too hard. I was happy to accept this feedback and proceeded to work the correct amount forever and ever more, then end."

Hey, Synth, if you're going to RUIN Christmas 2015 by killing your amazing Drunken Bubble Bobble Xmas avatar, at least stick it in this graveyard thread!
