    Ooh, juicy outrage.

Oh, Taken was surely a ridiculous movie where all the French were either incompetent or corrupt, American youth got kidnapped as soon as they touched European ground and obviously society is full of Eyes Wide Shut-esque secret sex cults. And if it had featured Jason Statham as the predictable action hero, it would've been tolerable at best. But Liam Neeson elevates the thing to incredible heights just by being there. The composed fury with which I travels through the film and delivers his dialogue is chilling in the best way.

Ah I am a bit frustrated right now, because I want to live elsewhere. My current room in Arnhem is an oven when the temperatures rise. Yesterday was a relatively warm Spring day -and already my room was uncomfortably hot. Furthermore, the new tenant above me is a youngster who frequently has friends over all night, and I hear every footstep or noise they make. I woke up three times over four hours. There's little that can make me so pathetically angry as people waking me up in the middle of the night. I go from zero to axe murderer in two seconds. The crazy thing is, if I were to stab them all to death, I'd be the one going to jail. So I desperately want to move out and get my own place, a condo that's a lot cooler (literally) and a lot quieter. That costs money I don't really have right now, but in my current state of mind I'd rather take out a loan to pay for it than spending another blisteringly frustrating summer filled with parties and people laughing and having fun outside here.

I watched the awful Hall Pass in the cinema today, so I had to wash it down with the splendid Taken. This is a such a good movie. At its heart it's just a thrilleresque action film, but Liam Neeson gives it such gravitas and sincerity that it sparkles from beginning to end.

    Well done, sir.

    Ouch! That's a stupid idea!

Congratulations, Kingz. Now go delve into office politics to get that guy fired. I've had troubles adapting to an office climate. I found the atmosphere sometimes way too political, even if the company is small and usually very laidback. It's weird to suddenly have to pay close attention to what you're saying because everything might be used against you without warning, people will gossip about you. Just, weird. Dressing up is something I have no qualms with, but that may be because I mix styles a lot and like dressing up. For the past months I've been wearing dress shirts and ties with a waistcoat over it, super neat but always still a little colorful and clownesque. Other days I'll wear jogging pants and t-shirt to work, or a jacket, or just a sweater. I love looking like a professional and businessman though, wearing suits (=ties) makes me feel snazzy and powerful, which is a great feeling. So, back to you. Work can be constricting and full of responsibilities you don't want sometimes. Well, that's why it's work, not hobby. It's not easy, and perhaps you'll think about up and leaving at times, but whenever I do, common sense prevails and I appreciate the good parts of it. This rant probably sucked enormously, sorry.
  9. You're all a bunch of humans? VIDEOOOOOOOOO THUUUUUUUMBS
  10. Books, books, books...

I want to read them. They're written by Drew Karpyshynnshynnshynn, the actual writer of the (first) Mass Effect. So at least they'll be very consistent in tone. I don't expect them to be super good, but I like the ME universe more than enough to enjoy some side story pulp. And who knows, it might be better than I imagine!

I have the monkeysong somewhere on tape and on video. To my infinite disgrace, it aired on public television on a children's show with puppets. I am the Dutch Rebecca Black. HOWEVER, I don't have pretty black hair, but will see if I can dig up a digital copy somewhere, or create one. I need to digitize some tapes anyway, since my father had the strangest Deep Purple music phase when he was a teen and there's a tape full of subterranean, Ad Visser-esque chanting and noise with him and his band Electric Mission. Musical gold, people.

That's not a duck, that's a freak! A fruck! The most aggressive ducks in my neighbourhood are the Egyptian Geese (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_Goose), but they're way more loveable than your felducks ^_~

I thought the The Borgias would be the spiritual successor to The Tudors, which was excellent. I'm gonna see it anyway, your opinion is clearly wrong.

When I was twelve I performed a song I wrote myself about monkeys in trouble and the environment before hundreds of people. If the internet had existed then like it did today, I would've been destroyed. People are the worst assholes. Dick hole black holes.

Dude, you're learning Japanese? (I had noticed the 中 sign in your sig before you foolishly changed it.) I've been learning Japanese since the end of January and so far it's really great and interesting to learn. Hiragana and katakana are pretty doable in a week each if you're dedicated. I found learning them was incredibly rewaring and appealing, because it's relatively simple yet you feel like you're learning a goddamn secret code. I'm about 250 kanji into the big ~2000 (actually about 2300). That's a bit of a grind, but I'm trying to learn ten new kanji every day. With the right learning techniques, that proved 100% possible, much to my surprise. Really, this whole experience if anything taught me how incredibly powerful and strong our minds are at remembering things and processing new information. I've been pleasantly surprised the whole way through.
  17. Nintendo 3DS

Don't buy it, is my advice. Not until the portfolio of 3DS games grows substantially and envelops better stuff. So far it's pathetic.
  18. "The Source Code" worst movie title ever

There Will Be Blood. There was almost no blood in the movie. Talk about a letdown.

The vaguest thing I've ever been called was when I wore a black top hat and someone shouted at me: 'Hey look, it's André Hazes wearing a top hat!'. André Hazes is a (dead), fat Dutch singer who looks nothing like me and whose style consists of specifically not wearing top hats. Kroms, you stay the fuck alive and safe in Jordan.

  21. V The Elder Scrolls

    Seconded!
  22. Shogun 2: Total War

Awesome! Not playing it myself, but it looks really atmospheric. I love the emphasis on diplomacy and strategy, rather than battles.
  23. 3DS Friend Codes

Yes! Now the wait is for a good multiplayer game that isn't a fighting game. Face Raiders: possibly the scariest game ever made? You haven't known fear until a 3D image of yourself is distorted onto a giggling helicopter man trying to destroy your environment and expose the nothingness behind reality. I mean, jesus christ, Nintendo...
  24. 3DS Friend Codes

Yes! 5241-1892-8694 So far the AR stuff is pretty neat, but the game selection is cack.
  25. PAX East 2011?

Hey that's the dude that did the Epic Mickey logo, right?
