The RE4 Wii Edition is one of my most-played Wii games, so I'll probably pick this up if I don't get it for Xmas, even though it's a completely different style. I, too, love co-ops, and have a feeling that my friend and I would get a kick out of it.

If you're joining us from googleland, please be aware all our threads are like this. You can't get a free game, but you can totally weigh in on whether some TV show I've never heard of that is totally awesome or completely lame. So it's a skit show, or what? Are all the skits about computers? Interesting to hear that Heroes lost its appeal this season. The end of season 1 was so lame that I refused to keep track of it at all. If anyone still has a license, maybe I should sign up for Steam. But my friend was showing Portals and telling me how cool it is, so maybe I should just get the whole box, if my MacBook Pro can handle it.

I tried it a bit and it worked well, but it uses a different friend code from the Wii one—which I find very annoying. Why not just check against the Wii's list for people who have the game? Anyway, Miffy and I are the only ones with codes on that thread Miffy linked, and we've yet to actually play. But you should definitely look up your code and give it to us (in the other thread).

Just playing a console game in 2-D and not have to worry about going perfectly straight before I jump in order to stay alive pleases me.

Has anyone played this Mercury Meltdown Revolution game for the Wii, or any of its previous incarnations (Archer Macleans Mercury for the PSP)? I just learned of it, as it will soon be released in the US for a mere $20, but looks like it came out in the UK several months ago. It sounds like it might be more interesting than the usual budget game, but without some Thumbs to tell me what to think, I have no opinion.

Heh. I actually saw that last night and thought, "I should inform the UK folks that mono is known as 'The Gland' over there." Also, I didn't even realize Metroid was out, although I've never been a big Metroid fan. But I guess that that is for another thread... Galaxy isn't out yet, though, right?

I return from my multi-month bout with mono (still going on) to say that, yes, "King of Kong" is both hilarious and observant. I saw another nostalgia doc, "Chasing Ghosts," at Sundance, and it was more of a character study of the people who were photographed in the Life Magazine shoot mentioned in this movie. What "Kong" captures that "Ghosts" doesn't is the way this nerdy clique reacts when an outsider threatens their top score. Next stop: Finding out what my Mario Strikers Charged online code is so other thumbers can kick my ass.

Perhaps it's really an intricate spoiler whose code we've yet to crack.

Yeah, but I'd play some of those boss fights for a long damn time before dying. The game has probably gotten more play on anything else on my Wii, so I'm not saying the qualms are a deal breakers, but I don't always have enough free time to make it to a save point (on the bright side, there are always typewriters before the bosses). EDIT: Added Spoiler tag as per comment below. Spoiler contains reference to one of the locations and how I died in it (no story info or completion tips).

Got the game and played it for the first time last night. It was a lot of fun, and the online play worked well too. Anyone else doing the online play thing?

So everyone talks about how the Meat Circus is so fucking hard, but I didn't have half the trouble getting through it as I have had on several of the parts of "Resident Evil 4." For the most part, I really like the controls (although I have the same problem wii wanking and then pressing a button that miffy has, even if I think it's more entertaining than just pressing a button during a cut scene), but get really frustrated when I have to start over again after working on something for half an hour. I like that you can die really quickly if somebody chops your head off, but I wish that the restart-point was a bit closer to where I left off.
