  1. Plug your shit

I'm particularly happy with today's adventure game illustration of Police Quest's Sonny Bonds and his arch-nemesis Jessie Bains:
  2. Half-Life 3

Oh, man. So many great things. GamersHell as the definitive download source for patches. .tk domains! toblix professing his love to Alyx. Intrepid was still a member.
  3. Half-Life 3

God yes.. Seamless asynchronous loading of level data or whatever it will be called is my most anticipated feature. If Nintendo could do it in Metroid Prime on a GameCube, then surely it's possible on today's PCs.
  4. Blog advice

Oh, yeah. Go lighter, should do the same. And yeah, the content is good! Just started reading it, and am already pleased to see I wasn't the only one disappointed with Dark Knight Rises.
  5. First PC in 9 years; what should I play?

Yes, and aside from that try Resonance a very nice, contained sci-fi thriller.
  6. Half-Life 3

Yup, distorted glass material was da bomb back then. I spent ages in Kleiner's lab just looking him and stuff (his crotch) through his magnifying glass! I think the big thing now will be Global/Indirect/Magic Illumination stuff, but hopefully they'll have other surprises up their sleeve to seperate them from UDK, CryEngine, Unity, WizardRender™ and so on..
  7. Half-Life 3

There's going to be a couple of disappointed Ricochet fans at some point in the future..
  8. Blog advice

You could try darkening it, should take some of the attention away from it. Here's a super quick mockup.

Ormr - The Smart Image Editor By: Sad Cat Software Type: Software - Image Editing about: A smart image editor, sort of the next evolution of Photoshop. Why You Should Care: Because it might be a very nice, cheap alternative to Photoshop with a much nicer workflow. You can go back and non-destructively change every line/drawing/modification in your document. It's kind of hard to explain, just watch the video! Backed that Goon movie now, I hope it makes it in the last days! (PS, your link goes to the Kickstarter for Kaufman's animated film)
  11. Breaking Bad

That pizza throw is the best.
  12. Curiosity – What's Inside the Cube?

Yeah, this. That would've been pretty spectacular to witness, but this is not. Implementing that would probably be quite server-intensive, though.. (I imagine, having no experience with server magic at all)
  13. Blog advice

You're right, if you have stuff like twitter feeds and such the sidebar is quite useful. It's looking great now. The text in the sidebar (the about text) is too dark, needs to be lighter than that dark blue, methinks?
  14. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

Industrial design stuff isn't allowed to show renders of stuff that isn't finished. The rules state that if you want to show anything off it should be the actualy prototype.
  15. Blog advice

Agreed. If all you have is a simple blog, you can have "About" "Categories" whatever, links at the top and just drop the sidebar entirely. Content front and center! Also, Rodi, IMO I'd drop the transparency on the main box, 'cause it looks a bit confusing right now. EDIT: Actually, that's only a problem for the sidebar, so if you'd remove that Problem Solved. Steve Zissou in the background? I approve.
  16. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

Yes, this is the worst. It's great that he wants to make a sequel to Elite and I'm sure a lot of people will like that, but how about you put just a bit of effort into the pitch asking people for 2 million dollars..?

SIR, YOU ARE BEING HUNTED By: Big Robot Type: Video game! about: A survival game set in a procedurally generated rural Britain. Why You Should Care: It's from Jim Rossignol of Rock, Paper Shotgun. It's procedurally generated. It has robots. And it has coined the term "tweedpunk". Link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1499900830/sir-you-are-being-hunted?ref=live
  18. Plug your shit

:D Thank you, guys! I'm glad I posted them up again.
  19. Plug your shit

This is my fault. It's not clear enough that it's a swimming pool. The only indication is a sign with squiggly lines and what maybe looks like a person..
  20. Plug your shit

Thank you! They weren't exactly popular back then, which was around 2005, I think? And then when I lost some old domain it was on, they didn't exist on the internet anymore.
  21. Plug your shit

Get your own thread, guys! This thread is for things that are shit and need plugging. On that note, I realized my very old series of comics about the lives of home appliances and what not isn't available anywhere on the internets anymore. So I've started archiving them on tumblr, check it out: home-appliance.tumblr.com In the end I hope to have started making new ones so that I can keep 'em coming when I've uploaded all the old ones.
  22. Blog advice

Maybe Captain August is a WordPress site that's already installed and is conflicting with your new one? I remember needing to give my new WP install a database prefix (inside wp-config.php) different to the old WP site to get it to work.
  23. Disney buys Lucasfilm

I'm pretty sure your should prepare yourself for supreme disappoinment, then. Because I'm sure I read somewhere that it would be based off of Lucas' script ideas, which are according to him not close to the Thrawn trilogy. Also, I wonder if they're going to write Leia, Han and Luke to the sidelines ("I'm too old for this shit.") or just fuck it and hire Channing Tatum as Han Solo..
  24. HBO Nordic

Yeah, I got Netflix here in Demark the other day. It's nice, but man.. It's missing so much stuff compared to the US one. It's all tied to deals that other channels here in Denmark have, eg. a channel in Denmark shows Mad Men. So on Netflix you get only one season of Mad Men. No channels are showing Breaking Bad in Denmark, therefore we get all seasons of that. It's just.. so random. For a service with one year old content anyway, they should have a lot more IMO. I haven't had your device problems, though. But I have a 360 hooked up and just use that. I can see that it's annoying it doesn't work for your SMART tv, but those BluRay players.. Man, I hope those die off soon. BluRay is an awful format! HBO Nordic I'm still excited about, though. Easy access to new content is great!
  25. Movie/TV recommendations

Jesus, where is this movie theater and is that place HERE IN COPENHAGEN, DENMARK? I want to see all the Back to the Future films back-to-back in the theatre..
