  1. Return of the Steam Box!

The Official Microsoft Wireless Dongle has been discontinued so isn't sold anymore and even the driver site states you shouldn't buy 3rd party dongles. Dongles!
  2. Return of the Steam Box!

I only have a wireless 360 pad, which definitely doesn't work. I should buy a wired one, but I'm too cheap. And Logitech, I don't know.. aren't they a bit shit? They probably work, though. But the feel? How is it?
  3. Return of the Steam Box!

Screw that huge box! We get to try out SteamOS soon, woo! I didn't even finish the beta survey, because where the fuck do I get a decent controller that actually works well with Mac??
  4. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

I don't remember. After the Kickstarter ended he definitely said that with the large amount of money they got they were going to be making a bigger game, and as I recall with that announcement it was implied (or directly said, even) that they weren't ever going to make the original delivery estimate with the bigger game. But yeah, this was all possibly only info available to backers. But that's also interesting to me. Backers aren't the ones complaining, because they've been in on the schedule from the beginning. And if you're not a backer (not calling you out specifically, juffowup!) then why would any of this bother you? You haven't paid any money and can safely wait for reviews before ever investing in this game. That Wikipedia article is accurate, though. But the 2015 statement was 'at the current rate' and their schedule has been adjusted to deliver both parts sooner. Hence an April or May 2014 release for the full game.
  5. No Man's Sky

Here's the second part of the RPS interview. They talk about the procedural generation, saying that no one will ever see everything in the universe. And they explain the 'Every Atom Procedural' bit to a degree.
  6. Alright, I watched 'The Measure of Man' - Great episode. Picard was awesome, Data got some emotional range of sorts, even Riker was great. Also, Whoopi Goldberg was there. The scientist dude was awkward.. I can never tell if the actor is just weird or if he got bad direction or what.. It's probably a bit of both. Also watched 'The Emissary'. Holy shit that Klingon woman.. She was really awful. The actor delivered every line in some weirdly, over-dramatic, sleazy way throughout. I guess she was trying to come off as funny and sarcastic, but it was just bad. The episode was fine, not particularly good. I might catch couple more episodes of this season and then move onto The Hopefully Brilliant Third Season.
  7. It's beginning to look a lot like...

Manny's in the festive spirit now.
  8. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

Yeah, that's not true. Part 1 is expected in January and Part 2 in April or May. And the original estimated delivery was for the smaller scoped, Flash or AGS-based pixel adventure game they originally set out to make for $400.000. I can't remember what they ended up setting their estimated delivery to at the end of the campaign, but I recall them delaying it into some time in 2014.
  9. GOTY.cx 2013

I initially just read the bolded part of this, thus not realising it was a joke.
  10. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

Yeah, in the last episode Khris, the voice director, specifically mentions that their voice budget is the smallest she's ever worked on. So she picks the ones that love doing it and won't mind a smaller paycheck.
  11. It's so weird how goofy they allow themselves to be. Completely opposite of what I assumed this would be. It's still takes itself seriously, but every now and then it turns into a bad 80's sitcom, with the crew making some awkward joke and everyone awkwardly laughing at themselves. Cue smooth, family friendly fun music! Also, the editing and acting is so hilariously off, sometimes (well.. most of the time) making a lot of the situations much more awkward than they should be. Unless that's just the intended effect?! Secret Asian Man, any standout episodes in Season 2 I should definitely watch, if I end up skipping episodes?
  12. No Man's Sky

    Another great preview by Eurogamer.
  13. Speaking of Mr. Star Trek, does Gene Roddenberry's involvement stop at some point through TNG and is that why the quality supposedly goes upwards?
  14. Awww.... That's a damn shame. They even telegraph their impending second invasion at the end, don't they? Damnit, Star Trek Dude. Why couldn't you skip that god damn Sherlock Holmes episode and put another body snatcher one in instead?!
  15. No Man's Sky

Brilliant, that's a pretty thorough explanation of what to expect from the game. Satisfied, thorn?
  16. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

Yep, both choices are excellent, judging from the videos. And Jack Black from the earlier videos is equally splendid. All the cast choices I've heard so far are brilliant. David Kaufman as Marek does steal the show, though. Holy shit!
  17. So, I finally made it through the entire first season of TNG. Man, that was a pretty, damn horrible. I realize this was a bit of a waste of time, but it still entertain me most of the time. I admit to falling asleep to a lot of the episodes, but there were a few that stood out. In the end, it had a three episode run that didn't feel completely throw-away. SPOILERS from here on, also from the first two episodes of Season 2.. 'We'll always have Paris' wasn't particularly good, but kept me interested all the way through with the weird time inconsistencies. As always, Patrick Stuart sells the crap out of Picard's inner struggles and he finally gets a love interest that doesn't look like she'd rather be on a different ship, in a different series (I'm looking at you, Dr. Crusher) 'Conspiracy' was fun and sort of what, I guess, I was hoping for in this series. Unknown parasites taking over, with fun, little puppet alien things and paranoid Federation stuff. And it picked up from a previous episode plot, which I thought was intriguing but was sure would never appear again (the whole conspiracy within plot) and the old side characters from that were brought in again. Fun times! 'Neutral Zone', again this wasn't quality TV on display, but it had its moments and hey! Romulans! The 21st century humans and all the 'how unsophisticated we used to be, bah hah!' preaching was very corny but provided some fun (and a stupidly stereotypical redneck musician.. Ugh..) Picard is definitely the best character, as he remains hilariously grumpy ("Shut up, Wesley") and some of the characters have grown on me (specifically Worf and Data.) D'anna Troy and LaForge are still my least favorite characters and for me, they just didn't get any better. Troy, especially, has a knack for being useless and providing the most obvious readings of every single threat. "I sense immense anger from them." THANK YOU, USELESS BETAZOID. Doctor Crushes isn't a favorite, but not because she's an awful character, but because the actor looks like she couldn't give less of a shit about being on the set. 'Skin of Evil' was the most hilariously awful, cringe-inducing episode ever. And killed of the worst character of the show. Yarr! Those last three episodes actually got me kind of excited to watch Season 2, which I've started on already. First impressions: I guess Whoopi Goldberg has always just been on board? The camera now moves!! And they've replaced the doctor with an almost identical, yet even more dry and bored-looking one. One and a half episode in... I might just skip some episodes this time. The first two episodes feature Troy having a space-beacon baby and a god damn Sherlock Data and his trusty sidekick Dr. WatForge... Way to start off with the strong stuff, Mr. Star Trek Man.
  18. No Man's Sky

Well, there's at least one big huge wildlife demonstration in that video.. The giant sand worm! Agreed, if it's only a Proteus like experience of exploring these planets I'd be a happy camper. Throw in some X-Wing/Tie Fighter-esque dogfighting and I'm just extra happy, to be honest. From just what's shown in the trailer this seems like something I'd be super excited to play. It'll be interesting to know how much of an online experience this is. From the trailer, it seems each player at least tags each new discovery with their name. No idea how much player interaction extends beyond that, and the rest is just AI NPCs. For a four man team a full-on MMO might seem a bit overkill. But the interview suggests it'll still be one big, persistent world we'll explore together in some way. This is very exciting!
  19. No Man's Sky

Wow, this is literally the first we've seen of the game. 'A bit of combat and exploration' and discovering locations on a planet and naming them (as evidenced in the trailer) is about as much information you'd get on any game when they're first revealed. Maybe hold out on the 'vapourware' and 'pretentious' tags until the developers actually explain a bit more about the game in, say, a developer commented gameplay video??
  20. Apparently, bafflingly, Reggie Fils-Aime claims The Year of Luigi continues into 2014.
  21. I want to learn how to games.

Games are art. End of discussion. toblix won.
  22. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

This is probably the only thread in the entire inter web where we're still spoiler tagging old LucasArts adventure games. I love it!
  23. Video Game Baby - Idle Parents

    That's brilliant advice! Noted.
