Well, about dreamfall. Some of the dialog was great, but Ragnar really has a problem editing the dialog. Sometimes it keeps repeating the same info over and over, and then all of the sudden you get a "by the way, I will be going to your party, Zoe" and it breaks the interest. Yeah, sure the dialog feels "real", but real life is boring.

We have a Hastings here, and they sell movies, music, video, books... it's pretty big. Also, I drink coffee.

People are dumb. You make a mild joke about being a dying kid and Gamespot kind of takes it seriously by adding a news post, commenters get it less. You're right; this is why this game didn't sell. People take games waaaaay too seriously. So I had to put a freaking note about sense of humor in my e-mail to microsoft. Because they might think that making shitty software and getting away with it is funny, but maybe they don't get the whole dying boy thing.

I hate the word. I hate when people write "for gamers to enjoy." and/or "gamers not only play 3d violence simulators, but they also play games that challenge the brain". We are people, damn it! Why do we have to be put in some sort of group like we are either a race, a specific religion, or have a sexual orientation away from the norm? Why don't they say "this is a book that readers will enjoy" or "this song will be enjoyed by listeners". Gah! Discuss.

But the point, which is what annoys me, is that the term (and I mean the term gamer as a video game/computer game player, not the one that has to do with gambling, etc, etc.) usually has a negative connotation towards people who think that are too good to play a game (which really means that most current games that are actually advertised are really not made for them), and thus it's just making it worse and worse... It's a conspiracy, I tell you!

Hey, there's nothing wrong with being a geek anymore, not at least in the united states... unless you play magic the gathering or D&D... then it's another story. but when people hear gamer, it's connotated to "ugh, a gamer. what is it with you people? why do you have to shoot kids in the face?" or something. And of course, it seems that the casual audience doesn't exist. You're either a gamer outside the gaming world just because you happen to have a console or bought a game, ever, or inside the gaming world you don't exist unless you're buying every single "good" game that comes out that is not too quirky or different from the norm.

No, the drawings by Faith seem to be a connection between the past, present, and future with zoe dressed in her typical clothes as well as the black house. The drawings by april ryan come from images in her dreams about Arcadia, and they also represent past, present and future, as some represents april's journey that is to come (since she was a girl when she drew them). They really need to go over the time stuff on the series, it's probably one of the most interesting things, and I'm sure it all has to do with the Storytime.

I was disappointed with the voice of Chavez. I loved the voice in the original game; it was so mystical and the accent was so romantisized; (all my years of great english with a small accent could have been thrown out the window when I could have had a thick accent that everone thought was h4wt). I dunno why they didn't bring the same guy back just for those two lines. And TLJ and Dreamfall are the same in over the top verbose and redundant dialog. I think it's nice that there is a lot of dialog, but I think that it's much better if they just mentioned things like once or twice and moved on. I know that the dialog is trying to be real, but real life isn't really dramatic. I particually remember the conversations with liv where Zoe says something important and then she says "oh by the way, I'm having a party...". It kind of kills it. Grumpy kind of mentions it in this article about voice acting and timing.
