Behold, for sanity has entered Adventure Gamers Forums!
netmonkey replied to Wormsie's topic in Idle Banter
The genre hasn't grown since Grim Fandango, and it actually seems to be getting worse. I mean, all the games are just derivative darkish style set around some kind of murder and perhaps in the future. Booooriiiinnnnnggggg! -
Um, I have a question about Milla Vodello's mind:
-
So, can we see any pictures of you and the Virtual Boy? I agree with my ape-like compadre. The Virtual Boy may have had the best games ever, but the presentation of it was just plain silly. who wants to sit down with a pair of goggles and play games and such. Although that technology is available, it wasn't to the point of being accessible enough to be enjoyed and liked by many. Maybe in a few years it will make a similar return... one that doesn't mess up your eyes and doesn't look as goofy.
-
I agree: Wait, why am I hiding that!

I'm featured in Gamasutra, thanks to the influence of Idle Thumbs on me: http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20050425/hong_01.shtml (and scroll down, until you see the quote by a certain Edmundo) Okay, so it's not an article, but hey... you gotta start somewhere.

PCI-Express is cheaper, apperently, at least if you're comparing the same model.
-
Maybe it's one of those magic eye things.

Can someone write a good* review for warrior within or paste the idle thumbs one on mobygames? because this is what people get so far: http://www.mobygames.com/game/ps2/prince-of-persia-warrior-within/reviews/reviewerId,54619/ *by good, I mean proper

It's a similar problem nintendo has, and in the US they seem to sell everything with a this-is-extrem0r image, even though a lot of the games are made for all ages to enjoy. Like how do they sell the Nintendo DS? "Touch me! Down there... you pervert! *moan*" I'm waiting for the PS2 version to come out so I can start selling the game to my xbox-less friends. -
He can fly, too! http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/action/princeofpersia3/screens.html?page=2

Perhaps that is why after like 20 years of making wrestling games, they're still crappy as fuck. Maybe eople buy them with their eyes closed! Ugh. My friend has like 5 wrestling games on N64, but I don't think he has Super Mario 64... wtf! -
Obviously, Idle Thumbs is trying to make everyone look bad for internet ratings. Those sons of bitches!!!1
-
I think the kids call it gangbang these days.
-
It was Eiji Aonuma, too, except that then he wasn't expecting to have millions of 13 year old American shitheads bitch about graphics because they didn't tingle their pubescing weeny. --- Of course, some of my friends were bitching like that, but they mostly bitched about the gamecube a lot. Now they wear banana republic shirts and junk and pretend that they never read comic books or played video games religiously.

Micro$oft should well damn know by now that software (and greedy monopolistic practices, but that's another story) is what sells the hardware.
-
I loved how you could rotate the camera around your Linku and look at him seeing things around you. The Wind Waker felt very anime to me!
-
TEN EUROS? You know how much it would cost for me? like 800 USD. Damn.
-
Also, Raz's idle animations change depending on where you stand... like in Milla Bodello's mind he disco dances. The one I liked is when you get up high on the camp, where the Psi marker is (like in the demo) and Raz does a little egyptian dance. That's cute.

Apparently, it's going to be shown in Australia, for anyone who lives there.

The Imperial March theme playing behind the Ubisoft and LucasArts logos couldn't fit any better. Where is EA?!

On May 12, 2005, MTV will announce a revelation that will cure world hunger, poverty and sexually-transmitted diseases, get rid of corruption and greedy capitalism, and change entertainment forever: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=5540&type=mov

There's only one thing in my mind: http://artpad.art.com/?iffw84mtwno I got carried away with the layering, so it gets kind of slow toward the end!

Conglomerate of comments By netmonkey I still find the way they review games these days rather odd: Is there some sort of sarcasm I'm missing? Ah, and Psychonauts gets the spotlight on Gamespot today. Finally! I was looking around and the reviews are harsh (which is good!). Psychonauts seems to be the highest rated xbox game since like Halo 2... except for Unreal Championship 2: It's Unreal Dude! Splinter Cell 3 gets an 8.6 on Gamespot and a 9.6 on IGN. A 9.6?! Just imagine if they reviewed movies based on how long they were:

You know, one thing I did not really think about for the past 5 years or whatever until I played the game and saw how everything fit in together is that Tim really outdid himself. I thought the game would not be as complex as Grim Fandango, but it definitely took me by suprise in the character development and the way everything works together to the most miniscule detail! And he pulled a very fine job designing his first non-adventure game! Of course, it probably wouldn't have happened withOUT everyone at Double Fine. I always feel bad giving the whole credit to a single guy. Edit: I can't type.
