  1. Books, books, books...

It's in here somewhere, but it's not hard to see for yourself: A string of failures since 1986 (when Lucas was forced to sell Pixar). Last Crusade helped, but after Radioland Murders, things were really not looking good... Time to reboot Star Wars!
  2. Back to the Future

I forgot all about this. I played the first two episodes and lost track. How's it looking?
  3. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

    Haha! Well done!
  4. L.A. Noire

Not sure why you'd want a PC version anyway. Those ports tend not to be very good, right? (Bully, GTA:IV, etc.)
  5. Life

I knew this would come back to haunt us! Well, I've moved. Probably.
  6. Movie/TV recommendations

Damn, that trailer was made by some talented folk. Seriously good. Cinematography and music was amazing, too. Wow.
  7. Books, books, books...

I think Lucas is driven by money, though. His "empire" was on the brink when he re-released the movies in their "Special Editions" in 1997. But yeah, she may not be able to move on, and it's possible spin-offs may be of worse quality (although at least she's not messing with the major canon, like Lucas). Anyways, this is mostly moot: The one thing that has been revealed is... it's not a new book. Warner Bros described it as "providing multiple-user access to a global computer information network", so it's some kind of online thing. Possibly an enyclopedia, or social network, or game or something.
  8. General Video Game Deals Thread

Wow. Everything is $2.99, too. http://www.gog.com/en/promo/interplay
  9. Life

It didn't make any difference to me in the end, though. I hope it's the same for you.
  10. Books, books, books...

It's actually pretty obvious if you know anything about her and her work. She's like the biggest HP geek out there. (She wrote Beedle the Bard just because she wanted to see that part of the HP universe made, and then when it was printed for public consumption, gave all the money from it to charity -- an estimated $17 million. There are other examples, too.) She's not about to do a cheap cash in for some dough, you can be fairly sure of that.
  11. L.A. Noire

I ran over quite a few people while I was driving to cases, but not once did I ever get an "injury" penalty. Weird.
  12. L.A. Noire

Here, borrow mine... Yeah, I think that's most likely. It feels SO much like RAGE.
  13. L.A. Noire

Aha! So that's the engine name. What's weird is that some sources claim that Team Bondi used their own engine, while others claim (with equal confidence) that it used Rockstar's RAGE engine. Interesting...
  14. Ocarina of Time 3D

Is this thing 3D only, then? So I'd have to buy a 3DS to play it, even if I only wanted it in 2D?
  15. Books, books, books...

She's not motivated by money, you don't need to worry about that.
  16. Books, books, books...

Lol. Well I sort of agree. The epilogue at the end of Harry Potter nearly ruined the entire series for me, but maybe, just maybe, a book with him as an adult could rectify it --- or totally and utterly obliterate the entire thing forever. Hmm. Maybe you're right. She should leave it alone.
  17. L.A. Noire

I suppose that explains some similarities, then.
  18. The threat of Big Dog

Wow. That is some scary stuff... how does it know where to go and what to do? Freaky, freaky, freaky.
  19. L.A. Noire

According to Wikipedia GTAIV used Euphoria. Does that mean anything? :-/
  20. The ASTOUNDING thread of science!

    Quantum object? dvYYYlgVAao
  21. Life

Ouch. Sounds like you're the victim of a bad teacher. I've been there before. I did technical drawing in "high school" (for our NA readers) and when I got the exam I was like, "what the fuck was that????". Nothing he'd taught us in the school year had prepared us for what was in it. It didn't make any difference to me in the end, though. I hope it's the same for you.
  22. Books, books, books...

Dude, you don't like anything. Not even planking.
  23. L.A. Noire

Ouch. That must have stung. I'm guessing it would have reduced costs massively if they could have had access to it. That said, its final incarnation is almost identical to GTAIV's engine, even in how it feels and reacts. Maybe Rockstar got involved later?
  24. L.A. Noire

Say what?! Are you sure about that? It seems crazy that they wouldn't use the same engine...
