How are the layout B's even unlocked?
-
Yay! Won with a boarding-oriented strategy (still on easy). I even lost most of my boarding team, but got another one. Actually, most of my crew in The Last Stand were unexperienced late additions. Hull repair bot + S. Bomb + 2 weak lasers + Defense bot + boarding proved quite useful! Only the last stage of the boss had me worried I wouldn't make it.

I tried to play a couple of games on Normal, but I after a few quick deaths I saw that Easy is indeed better for experimenting. I then played an easy game with a boarding strategy in mind, and it mostly turned out well, except that I sold everything, including my hull-damage-dealing weapons to get extra crew members (I had 3 mantis eventually). That meant I couldn't win against the automated ships and that sucked I died in sector 6 when I wasn't able to win the boarding game against a larger ship quickly enough to avoid getting hit too much. PS. With just one damaging weapon I would have done better I think, but I only found a powerful Ion Bomb, Health Bomb, Small Bomb. Those worked quite well with boarding.

Definitely seems so. I got what seemed like 50% more than I normally would have gotten (this is of course a guess) whenever I asphyxiated an enemy crew.
-
I did for captain Turing's ship -- since he was without crew for most of the journey (but then I found a guy for the engines -- other end of ship), I thought it might be useful.
-
I must try that. I've only boarded once, but I've tried to suck out oxygen from other ships. Have done it a few times, but it's hard -- if they fix it you end up causing enough hull damage that they just blow up. Have to use non-hull-damaging bombs for this, probably. Was that easy or normal? Just had my first victory on easy. Was actually too easy, so I'm playing on normal next. I had pretty high dodge + full shields and cloak. Didn't use the drones until quite late, but they ended up being very useful.

Amazingly captain Turing made it to the last sector (but didn't pursue the boss). He was alone for most of the game, but found some crew near the end. The ion weapons were mostly useless against the more powerful rebel ships at the final sector.
-
Captain Turing is a lone space cowboy. He never said no to a possibility to explore and lost his crew thanks to that. However, with 2 ion weapons + the default laser, his ship has won fights easily. He was just boarded in a nebula, but thanks to level 3 blast doors and good oxygen supply, he got rid of the intruders easily.

I tried that. Eventually this happened (for some reason can't post steam images in this forum (you're not allowed to use this image extension blabla))

Oh, wait, I was wrong, he just narrowly escaped death and was teleported back to the ship in the last second. But he is just Breckon, not Nick

My Rock Nick Breckon died

I've been playing this on easy. In my first game I got almost to the last sector. Later ones were less successful with unlucky events mixed with bad decisions making me fail an encounter that didn't seem that bad at first. Awesome game! PS. I wonder whether buying directly from dev's site really is better in the long run. Sure, they get more money from you, but no additional visibility. If you buy on Steam, it increases the time the game is in the top selling chart and probably more people will see the game.

Electric puddles -- are they really all that dangerous?
Erkki replied to YoyomaBones's topic in Video Gaming
Test it by connecting a 9V battery to a small puddle (teaspoon?). Then touch the puddle with your tongue. -
Idle Thumbs 74: That Meat Boy Sat Me Down
Erkki replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
It's clearly dayzee (without the space), not daisy. -
What? There was one? Anyway, changing a successful form factor seems stupid to me. It's not like the phone was too thick or heavy. The lightness/thinness will not compensate the unnecessary added length, which will make one-handed operations even trickier. So I am not that interested and will likely wait for the next one, which I hope will be shorter again. Although better CPU speed sounds nice considering I have a 3GS, but maybe I'll switch to some Android instead.

3 of the 4 games I voted for so far have been already greenlit while I was away from the internet for a week+. Also looks like they've reworked the system -- but are there still downvotes? Looks like the thing is improving, stop wanting things NOW NOW NOW. I agree that it's a bit confusing, but it's just started and can be forgiven.

Maybe you have a favourite game / a game you are watching among those that want to be on Steam and that you want to be on Steam (to make it easier to buy/access the game). It's as simple as that.
-
Comeone guys, you expect every Steam user to immediately rush in there and start voting? How long has the feature even been open? The downvoting needs to go, though.

Wow, Toblix's real name is so long that he gets a whole line to himself in the Wizard's Circle. Also impressed that both Nick Breckon and F. Nick Breckon are in there. But where is Nick "F. Nick" Breckon?

I have some awe for this new site.

Oh, I missed the fact that the force field included the island.
-
Let me get this straight... The whole army of the USA, including land forces and air force and whatever there is was there for the navy excercise and was inside the force field?
-
Why didn't the army or air force or whoever else bomb those satellite dishes?

Worst movie ever! (ok maybe not as bad as Robot Ninja)
