  1. Grand Thumb Fortress!

To me it seems like the game least suited to Thumbs playing, because we'll have to be so many people to fill up the teams, and playing with outsiders isn't always as fun, especially if they outnumber us. Both L4D and GTA is fun from 4 players and up.
  2. Trine

Oh, so they haven't made any next-gen games. That's probably why I've never heard of them.
  3. Trine

Oh, wow, really? For some reason I thought it was designed for PS3. Oh, I'll be getting the PC version for sure, then. And then maybe the PS3 version too if I want to co-op with someone.
  4. Trine

Oh, so there's no real consensus that PC controls are suck? I'll have to try the demo, then.
  5. Trine

Why are you getting it on PC (also I thought the proper way to say it is "on the PC")? Aren't the versions the same, only on the PS3 has more fitting controls?
  6. WYSINWYG Post Editor

The awesome WYSIWYG editor doesn't work in Safari, the browser I'm using on my Apple Macintosh computer. This sucks, because it's awesome, and having to write this and that sucks hard. Is it a third party editor that has maybe been updated lately?
  7. Trine

Apparently it'll cost half on PSN. That's not a very difficult choice.
  8. Trine

Has the release date for PSN been set?
  9. Tales of Monkey Island

How much of an effort is one supposed to make before just caving in and downloading it for free? I totally get wanting to buy the games and getting the box and maybe also awesome goodies too, as well. I also get wanting to do the right thing by not not paying for it, but seeing as the original makers won't get any money from a used game purchase, and also the original makers not making an effort to make the game available, I wouldn't have any qualms about just downloading the thing. Not having downloaded ROMS, old Amiga games or old "abandonware" PC games in a while, I assume there are still loads of sites with direct HTTP links. Also, there should be torrents for more populare stuff like MI. Even alsoer, newsgroups are sure to have these.
  10. Awesome video review, James (Jacko would be proud)! I appreciate your frustration that your car was smashed to bits when you were CASUALLY ROLLING ALONG what was supposed to be a HIGH SPEED DARING ESCAPE SEQUENCE where your car was supposed to only ALMOST be smashed. Also, kudos for abusing the jet pack. It was only supposed to be used if the sponge elevator didn't appear (for some reason the physics engine makes it go away sometimes), but you just went ahead and bypassed the fun ball section of the level. I guess being killed minutes later SERVES YOU RIGHT. Also, it's awesome that you actually completed it, Miffy. I'm sure you could tell I really didn't expect anyone to play that far. I'm really impressed, and it shows how much more of a man you are than James, for example. Also, you've all inspired me to make a new level that doesn't do unfair shit like trapping you inside an ejaculating volcano. It's a soul-crushing experience, to be sure, but if I know at least one person who isn't myself plays it, it'll all be worth it, even if that person is only a virtual internaut. Oh, and James, the level does have a boss, which you would no doubt have discovered had you been able to play past the opening parts. The boss even chases you up a volcano/mountain thing in what was supposed to be an awesome chase sequence.
  11. Maybe when I'm through with MGS4 I'll do a Director's Cut which will be the real manifestation of my vision, not the studio's. I had this idea of a branching mechanic where different chambers would fall down depending on some shit. I'll have to build some reliable mechanic for this to be possible. Also, testing these things is a real bitch, because I have to start from the very start each time. There should be something like unit tests for each chamber or something, I dunno. I know I played through the mental bouncing platforms a couple of times, though, so it's definitely possible, especially with the infinite lives checkpoints I've spread so generously around.
  12. Which one, the one beneath the green mountain, or the one after the boring ice slide?
  13. 24" HD 1080p for under £200

HE'S MAKING FUN OF YOU JAMES!
  14. Okay, so about the first segment with the falling shit, you just have to wait for each piece to fall down. I intended to have some awesome stuff you had to do in order to trigger the next piece, but the first pieces were too small to do anything inside. Regarding the arrow and the buttons, this is a puzzle, and in fact I'm moderately proud of this one. I don' know how obvious it is though. This is level has a million examples of this: I get an awesome idea for a concept (for example pieces of a level falling into place as you progress) I try implementing the concept and get a working prototype up and running I continue building on the thing After a while I discover some flaw inherent in my implementation (for example: the pieces no longer fall neatly into place, but rather bump into shit and tumble into some incorrect position) I can't be bothered to fix it, so I just try to make it playable despite these flaws (for example placing a jetpack because sometimes a sponge elevator just disappears for some reason)
  15. Sounds like awesome fun. Do you have any hilarious recollections of some of all the no doubt crazy shit you guys did? I'd love to hear of them. Or was it just boring and awkward since I wasn't there to share my witticisms and stingingly appropriate inappropriate jokes? I can imagine.
  16. Awesome, can't wait to get back home, buy it and play it naked.
  17. I'm going to Spain for a week tomorrow, and I don't know where it is exactly. I know there's a beach or a pool. Also, I don't know if there's WiFi or if my manually configured Android phone will work down there. Also, I hate flying because of all the fucking security and hassle with papers and boarding passes and shit like that. Also, I hate travelling in general, because I have to pack, and the place looks like a mess, but I'm like "oh, I'll just tidy all this up when I get back" and when I get back I'm like "WTF didn't I tidy this up before I left?!". Anyway, there's a chance I won't be back, so that's for everything!
  18. Hasta Sombrero, I'm off to Spain

I'm on Safari on a Mac.
  19. Left 4 Thumbs

    SOUNDS LIKE FUN
  20. Hasta Sombrero, I'm off to Spain

Yeah, I love them shackles. Make me feel safe. Last night I frolicked in the pool. Fuckin' frolicked. Bonus question to Ilde Thumbs: Why aren't the keyboard shortcuts working on my sleek Apple Macintosh Portable Computer System? I press Ctrl+i, alt+i, cmd+i, fn+i... nothing works. Nothing.
  21. Hasta Sombrero, I'm off to Spain

Oh, I was just thinking if the plane went down or something, or if I drowned in the pool. Turns out the ride down went smooth, and we have this awesome place with WiFi and everything.
  22. New people: Read this, say hi.

Right, of course. That's actually an interesting observation you made there, because I've never actually pronounced the word in English. When thinking about it, I wouldn't say earl, but you are el, which means I should've picked the other article. I guess shit like this happens because I never speak English, which means I make crazy decisions like "pronouncing" acronyms as I would in my native tongue when writing. Again, awesome observation -- thanks for pointing it out!
  23. New people: Read this, say hi.

I don't know what your post means!
