  1. Left 4 Thumbs

I love how you've all figured out the mechanics, basically playing a decompiled version of the game, only giving the exact input needed to adjust the game variables in your favor. I like when I can shoot many zombies before I die.
  2. Tales of Monkey Island

    Here's a prediction:
  3. Xbox Live Summer Update

My reaction was that this could well be bullshit, but I have no problems believing that there are non-technical reasons why they don't just patch Halo 2.
  4. Grand Thumb Auto XXVI: A Turbulent Wreturn

It's been a long time since Liberty City last felt me. It will be good for us both.
  5. Tales of Monkey Island

    What, the monkey kombat?
  6. Tales of Monkey Island

I'm now running in windowed mode, using the EMI launcher, and this isn't awful. Well, visually it's awful. I was surprised at how well some of the dialogue flows, though.
  7. Tales of Monkey Island

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU After playing for a while the game crashed when I was about to save.
  8. Tales of Monkey Island

Maybe it's the urge to play TMI talking. I'll give EMI another shot.

The last couple of weeks I've played through MI1, 2 and 3. What a bunch of awesome games. They really are much better than I remembered them to be, and I'm glad I took the time to refresh my memory. These games are still great fun to play, not as some nostalgia trip or game history research, but compared to whatever recent game you'd care to mention. They are well written, they have awesome puzzles, they are hilarious and they still look great. Whatever issues one would have with them compared to newer games are minor. The greatest would be full-screen resolution, but I played them all in windowed mode(using ScummVM) with the 3x filter on, and the graphics and animation still impresses me. However, I just loaded up MI4, as I wanted to have played all the MI games before starting on TMI. But it looks and controls so horribly shit piss I just can't take it. I already played through it when it came out, so I'll just read a synopsis somewhere, say I played through it and move on the EMI. Oh, and this taste for old-school adventure has really taken hold. I'm queuing up DOTT, BaSS and Simon the Sorceror as well (I've played through the Indy adventure games pretty regularly through the years, so those are still fresh in my mind)

Sorry, lady and gentlemen. This heat wave is just killing my graphics card. Well, it's not really a heat wave, it's just really hot, especially inside my computer. Maybe next time, if it's cooler.
  11. iPhone/iTouch gaming

HOLY FUCK EVERYONE TO THE APP STORE NOW
  12. Movie/TV recommendations

Just a tip: If someone wants you to watch Killing Room, run.

Today I discovered a technique for getting the buds to stay in place: Instead of just putting it in the ear hole and letting the lead go straight down, I let the lead go behind and over my ear and the bud goes upside-down into my cavity. It's not a perfect fit, and the sound isn't awesome, but at least I can walk around and take the bus without looking like that kid from the Bomfunk MC video. What's really annoying is that if Apple just released the awesome on-lead remote as a short dongle I could use some proper earbuds. I can't go back to not having the awesome remote.
  14. I notice TGP is getting some great reviews around the internet home pages. I hope this results in incrementing sales for you guys. Also, I heard you probably wouldn't be doing any more adventure games. Well... FUCK YOU
  15. Idle Thumbs is everywhere

Do you turn the lever or what? The button doesn't look like it's doing anything, unless it's somehow connected to the tube-like thing on the end.
  16. iPhone/iTouch gaming

Yes, but I don't want to.
  17. iPhone/iTouch gaming

I already have big headphones. Thing is, I don't want to walk around with a huge device on my head.
  18. Have people seen Machinarium?

Steam? I preordered it on some web site.
  19. Have people seen Machinarium?

I preordered it. Hope it's awesome.
  20. Mata Hari

I noticed Mata Hari was out on rlslog today, so I went and checked their web site, which was all 90s with year old updates. So then I checked Steam, where it was made available today, and I bought it. It's only €16,99, and it's by that guy.

Fieldrunners was pretty cool. I just finished 100 waves on easy. Just barely, too. Next time I'll build a better maze!
  22. Mata Hari

THANK YOU, that was exactly the type of crap puzzling I was struggling and failing to come up with.

Yeah, I haven't used a proper iPod ever, so I wouldn't know the difference. I used it like this: Start playing a song Put the phone in my pants Use the headset remote to stop the music when I needed to hear sounds. And that's it. I have one album on it. I don't expect I'll put a lot of music on it because I already have an MP3 collection, nicely ID3 tagged and sorted, and I assume that to get iTunes to work with it I have to import the files and all sorts of shit will happen. edit: Oh, and: I've played a couple of games, and holy fucking cunting shit this is awesome. The games load up super quickly, the graphics vary from game to game, of course, but it's obvious that making good-looking games is not very difficult.
  24. iPhone/iTouch gaming

Okay, so I've bought: Zen Bound SyncInABlink (not a game, I know) Trism Tap Tap Revenge 2 Edge Zenonia UniWar Cops&Robbers Fieldrunners The Creeps! iDracula Underworlds HeavyMach Rolando 7CitiesTD 7DA Zombies Peggle Textropolis Space Ace 1112 Flight of the Amazon Queen Lemonade Tycoon The only one I've played so far is Zen Bound, but I'm already convinced that buying an iPhone primarily as a game platform was very smart indeed. I also used it as an iPod for a while, and it was very nice, although my ears do not hold on to earbuds very well, so I'll have to get some replacements that I can wear outside.
  25. Mata Hari

Jesus, I've been so working hard to change people's perception of me, and still this misconception lingers. What do I have to do, marry a video game? It's not that the puzzle is illogical, but it just feels so... generic or something. The key and the soap and the lighter were all within 50 pixels of each other, just begging to be combined. I expect to pick up a rope next. Oh, and a wine bottle for giving to the drunkard so I can steal his sandwich or some shit.
