It didn't suck. It was quite good horror movie actually! Not that many horror movies are like that these days...

Is it so that MW2 is still based on the Carmack's Quake4/Doom3 engine code, but heavily modified of course? The first one was at least according to my memories. Always oh so trustworthy Wikipedia confirms that MW2 engine is based on an id tech engine. Because I have reason to believe that this actually would run well on my computer, if I just take off some of the effect candy. That can only be because magic done with the engine code. My good old rig is: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard AMD Athlon64 +3500 2,22Ghz 2GB 400mhz DDR ram Geforce 8600GT 1GB

Now I'm quoting this a bit late, but I think that at least in Finland they recently released the whole show on dvd. I think there was other languages than the Finnish dub also there. Alfred J. Kwak was a really weird show, started of completely normally like any kids show, but then turned really strange when the main character went on his adventure. Wasn't there nazi references with the black crow character and all that or was I imagining it all when I was a kid? They are actually showing the show again in Finnish tv on sunday mornings I think. I actually watched some episodes from the beginning when I happened to wake up at the right time. That sure is an insane movie. When I was about 20 years old I bought it on dvd watched it many times back then. I rewatched it in a sort of tribute after Swayze passed away. So weirdly insane movie, but that's what you get when you have Keanu "whoa!?" Reeves and Gary Busey in the same movie plus heartthrob Swayze as the bad guy. I was really disappointed to hear that Dollhouse got the axe like all Whedon's shows under Fox have received the same treatment. A really promising tv series that started to show it's potential at the end of 1st season and especially now during the second season. Does anyone have thoughts on Paranormal Activity, is it any good? I'm going to go check it later tonight.

Idle Thumbs 50: "Farewell, Video Games" or "The Shitty Wizard"
Kolzig replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Ooh I have to say this that Clint Hocking in his lecture is referencing Steve "hot scoops" Gaynor's blog in the beginning. -
Surely one of the games of 2010 to check when it's released. I really want to avoid trying the flash demo, I'll want to wait for the release.

NSMB Wii is looking pretty sweet, today morning I watched the Gametrailers review and my excitement jumped even higher. Europe has to wait till next week's Friday and I even one week longer because I'm buying it online and it takes those darn 5-7 days to arrive from UK to Finland... New real Mario game is always a treat, especially when it's in 2D form. I noticed my Wii library of games has gotten quite big recently, way too big actually. Don't even have time for all of them, so I guess I'm back to my roots to buying more games than I can play...

Oh I would take out the work because that takes the most time, but in order to do that I would need to win some lottery or something like that...

Sooo does this affect how EA Partners works or does it mostly affect internal EA stuff like the companies they have bought and swallowed to the corporate entity known as Electronic Arts?

I will be playing soon at some point as "co-op" with a friend who has more top shape PC than I do. I can't bother to buy this as I know it won't work with my old tin can of a PC.

Oh crap, this is one of the hundred or so games that I bought years ago and never have played. I always was really interested in the setting of the game and I remember reading some old Finnish games magazine 10 years ago about the game and they gave it thumbs up and everything. Propably never will play it because there's just no time these days damnit. Work, wife, dog, sports and Wii are eating all my time.

Idle Thumbs 50: "Farewell, Video Games" or "The Shitty Wizard"

Thanks guys, great way to end the weekly podcast. Good to know that it might continue someday. Now I'm kind of lost because I have no weekly or any other podcasts to listen while doing my job. I did used to listen to Played also, but that thing is dead, no new casts in eight months... The last podcasts that I'm going through are NYU Game Center podcasts of Jonathan Blow and Warren Spector. There were some other people also there. Very interesting stuff. -
The Secret of Monkey Island... Deleted Scenes!
Kolzig replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in Video Gaming
That was some really awesome dialogue. It would've been interesting to see the looting scene in the final game, but SoMI is perfect already so I'm not that sad to not see that stuff in the game. Anyway cool discovery by the special edition team! -
So, I read something that people who bought the Steam version of this are not allowed to play it for couple of days yet? The retail boxed version comes out today right? Weird, weird, weird.

Thanks people, I feel a bit old now...

Idle Thumbs 50: "Farewell, Video Games" or "The Shitty Wizard"

It's a shame that the great cast is now ending. I have to download this as soon as I can. It has been most wonderful spending the otherwise boring workdays to listening your podcasts through my iPod. 2,5 hours eh? Weeell, that sure is a bang. -
I wouldn't doom the whole game by just looking at some screenshots. I've been recently digging more into Warren Spector's stuff and also put this game on the wanted list of 2010. One friend sent me some interesting podcasts from some gametalk website which name I don't remember right now, because I temporarily lost my iPod today so I can't check... These podcasts had talks with Spector, Jonathan Blow and the FarCry2 guy who's name I don't remember and then bunch of other people. The screenshots don't look that good, that's for sure. I would expect more from the team because the Wii can do amazing graphics if done right. But this has to be seen in motion to see what it is all about and also the gameplay. I don't mind about the graphics that much, the story and gameplay come always first.

It's a shame if MF2 is turning out to be like this on PC. I would like to try it on my computer, but as mine is from 2005 there is almost no change it will work on a single core, ddr1 memory computer. Oh and hi to everyone, I guess I haven't been at Thumbs forum for 1,5 years... a loooot has happened during that time like my marridge etc.

This new content suddenly popping up is surprising, and great!

My friends tried to make me go see it, but no Frank Welker and director is MICHAEL BAY = No fucking way I was ever meant to see crap like that. So I decided that I'm not going to see that. And I hear they are going to make Transformers 2 with Michael Bay again, more slow panning multimillion dollar scenes of Mexan Fox to be expected, eh?

I have to note that my opinion may be subject for change during Christmas, when I might get my hands on Nintendo Wii and Super Mario Gäläxy.
