  1. Why games feel irrelevant?

You can make up junk like that about anything you like, it doesnt make it any more relevant to anything. The point of computer 'games' is to 'play' them in order to have 'fun' not to come away from them feeling enlightened, even the huge long story based ones with acting. Similarly the point of those TV shows mentioned is not to give you an insight into anything at all.. even the story based ones with acting. (sadly none actually mentioned yet.) So if you want to see 'relevance' in everything you do dont bother playing games, they arent there to teach you right from wrong or tell you if gays are good or bad, they are there for people to enjoy playing and clearly you dont.
  2. Why games feel irrelevant?

there isnt really an issue here, just some confused fans of E.R wandering into the forums looking for more hot gossip about the next episode of ali mcbeal and what they will come away with at the end of it! Perhaps they will feel more accepting of blacks! or maybe they'll rekindle friendship with their mother because ali told them to. *sigh*
  3. Why games feel irrelevant?

"a new insight into society / human nature / life / ourselves" i think you are missing the point and also being pretentious as fuck ¬¬ having said that, playing mario kart DD taught me a lot about modern society and the structural forces beind the evil 'blue shell' coporations and the rat race of modern life, everyone struggling to be best.. first... the winner
  4. How did you lose your gaming virginity ?

erm.. im assuming it was pong or one of those other games that involved a white square... does that even count?

  8. San Andreas (PC)

Some of the scripted action sequences were cool, the 'terminator' style one is awesome. as is the helicopter chase sequence heh, they are impressive and really well scripted but actually playing the missions isnt quite as fun. the missions are so scripted that it leaves little room for the random factor. Follow a train (on rails) follow this follow that. what happened to all the weird random missions of vice city? who's clerver idea was it to make the special melee attack button 'return'??? oh well done you idiot! yeah its good, just not as good as previous ones...
  9. The sad tale of how I ended up with an N-Gage...

lol, a classic selection of the games I tested... it's a shame credits have to be manually added to moby games, my list would be stupidly huge and stupidly embarassing heh. I'm not allowed to list the N-Gage games ive tested beceause NDAs exist I have done a classic games industry move and left QA for pastures new... p.s if you do have an N-Gage, there ar eno good games, but Sonic N and Pathway to Glory are your best bet... also puyo pop is fun if you like those kinda games super monkey ball is a terrible terrible port.
  10. San Andreas (PC)

I've been playing this game for a lot of hours now... its not very good is it? i mean... there is hardly ever a time when you have the option of doing more than one mission... its not where near as developed and cool as Vice city.. the soundtrack is crappy, there doesnt seem to be anywhere near the amount of comedy radio as in previous games - ive heard every joke 6000 times now. just as you get used to an area you leave it, suffer from boring travel times... and the worst sin? no fucking map button, go to the menu and select it. on top of all that its fun to play for the most part, and i am having fun when I'm doing missions (when I'm not getting lost and chekcing the map) but such a disappointing sequel. It's such a shame it wasnt made on the pc and ported to consoles first so that story, missions and actual content weren't subsituted for a huge 'sandbox' world, which, whilst entertaining, is never used to it's full potential. I'm not all the way through the game, and maybe it gets a ton better, but right now its left me feeling a little annoyed that its not better. I'm still gonna go play it for a bit i guess...
  11. The sad tale of how I ended up with an N-Gage...

  18. Memo

There is a terrible smell of burning electrics coming from the elevator shaft in the kitchen. I wonder if perhaps the electronics need repairing before it is used again? If that was to be the case, there is a toolkit under the cupboard in the pantry. The password to the electronic lock on the cupboard is '0091'. Also, there is fresh bread in there. - Yuf
  19. Memo

They locked me in a cell. I have realised the cause of my infection, yet they will not listen to me. What have I done? What will become of us? Nothing can stop this terrible plague from spreading across the world. My thirst for blood is overpowering... repulsed as I am by myself, I must ease the burning by ripping at the flesh of others. I overheard two gaurds talking outside my cell earlier. Apparently the passcode to the computer in Test Lab 4 is '7769'. This computer holds vital information as to the chemical makeup of the virus, and information on how to contain the spreading. The only way to Test Lab 4 is via the underground labyrinth, which can be accessed via the elevator in the kitchen. God help us all. - Yufster
  20. So,

  23. HP sauce is in fact the best ACTUAL sauce, yes. As apposed to Tabasco, which is just really delicious in Tomato Juice. - Yufster
  24. Tabasco ... I never really thought of it as sauce as much as a .... something else. But it is DELICIOUS mixed with tomato juice. Mmmm yes. Good lord Tomato Juice and Tabasco Sauce is the best thing ever, truly. Try it sometime, but get PROPER tomato juice made from REAL tomatoes, and only put in like five drops of tabasco even if it's a large glass... - Yufster
