  1. I completely endorse this - if anyone rewatches The Return eventually, do it with headphones. I know Lynch has recommended this and with good reason.
  2. He seemed like Lodge(Good)Coop to me, in that he has good intentions but is just incredibly quiet. That was a really long drive. The TP nuggets that'll consume my mind for days/weeks to come... - Lack of Audrey in 17/18 (this potentially surprised me most) - Disappearing Diane doppleganger - Dead body in Carrie's house - Hidden person Alice Tremond was asking questions (probably no significance but I thought was interesting) - "What year is it?"
  3. Per usual (this season), I thought I had the show slightly pegged. Episode 17 essentially said, "alright, here that is, but let's be quick about it." I have no idea what to think at the moment. If that really is the conclusion of Twin Peaks, I suppose I'm happy it ended with a horrific scream in front of that terrifying house at night. The entire drive to TP and "are we being followed?" was unnerving. As was the Sarah Palmer scene in 17 where it lingered for so damn long before she appeared. My mind is still wrapping itself around the (alt) flashback scenes from old TP. I can't figure out if I disliked it or loved it. Seeing Pete again and then a Jack Nance dedication was wonderful. I think I'm just a little bummed that the "I am the FBI" group of scenes from 16 really wound up being the only Twin Peaks-y Coop scenes all season. Everything with him in 17 was so fast, and also consumed by his huge composited head. Really wish The Final Dossier was coming out sooner. Curious about how the hell that's going to take shape considering what we just saw.
  4. Diff'rent strokes. This Lynch-fueled version of TP is better than I what expected to come from this revival. There's still quite a bit of show left, however. Random, but as soon as Coopvegas started pulling slot machine levers I kept waiting for a connection to the eyeless woman who pulled one earlier in the episode.
  5. I've honestly not been negatively distracted by any of the VFX thus far. On the other hand, I've really been impressed by the overall aesthetic of the show and the cinematography - specifically the shots inside the "box" room and the imposing still shots of the object itself. If anything, perhaps it's felt so overly-cinematic that my mind is having a hard time bridging the connection to previous TP materials. ...cue the inevitable return of "Little Devil Nicky in a superimposed thought bubble."
  6. I continually forget that this happened - certainly creepy, and has me intrigued. The white figure entity that attacks the kids initially reminded me of the Black Lodge statues. Interesting how we get a white (female?) entity and purely black (male?) one in the same episode...
  7. I'd enjoy a fan-edited S3 episode where an Andy-versus-scotch-tape and/or Dick's-tire-picnic scene are randomly inserted.
  8. Thought the same -- which is a great thing IMO.
  9. Leading up to the series I was getting increasingly worried that the new story would be about multiple timelines and somebody needing to "course correct" things. Like we've seen that so many times before. The "a time presents itself" quote and whatnot made my suspicions even stronger. I was feeling relieved... until Jacques showed up! Hopefully it's just a long-forgotten brother. I was half-expecting a grown-up, un-dead Laura Palmer to show up as a cliffhanger. But no, just still-cool James thankfully.
