  1. Recently completed video games

Just finished Sleeping Dogs and I can barely say why I made it all the way through. Definitely a pretty generic open world-ish GTA clone with very little new to offer, but the setting and combat were fun enough to get me through. I'm obsessed enough with Hong Kong action that I enjoyed playing through the tropes of a Hard Boiled/ Infernal Affairs type story and the gun play felt good enough to get me through the main story. Don't make the mistake of playing it like an open world game because there's not much to do in the world, the driving is boring, and the unlocks for hand to hand combat moves and guns barely do anything. I probably would have enjoyed this more had I mainlined the story missions as quickly as possible, I suppose I would recommend Sleeping Dogs if you absolutely must play something vaguely related to Hong Kong action and you've already played John Woo's Stranglehold. It scratched an itch I had for a generally competent action game, but it definitely convinced me that I prefer this stuff to not pretend it's "open world" and just take me through a fast-paced, stream-lined experience ala Uncharted or Tomb Raider 2013.
  2. Destiny (MP)

Added myself as well. I'm also fairly new to Destiny and I'm in the teens. Feel free to join me up if I'm ever playing!
  3. One Evening Games!

Her Story can be played through in one long-ish sitting of 4 hours or less. Though I enjoyed playing half in one sitting, spending some time thinking about it, and then finishing it in another sitting.
  4. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

I also find that it's not that buggy. It's janky, and that's very different and wholly acceptable IMO. The game doesn't stop of break (at least not yet) and it's not like we're under the impression that this shit is real life, so if a guys arm glitches through the door, it doesn't bother me . This is only "buggy" or janky compared to other huge AAA games, and most of those games might be "open world" but really only let you performed very specific, sort of "on rails" tasks in a larger environment. You generally can't pick up everything ever, shoot whoever, interrupt everyo convo, even click on everyone to talk, pickpocket everyone, etc. While the look of it is approaching more of a AAA console action game (kinda....) this is still very much just a first person translation of an old school PC RPG with some concessions for modernity (a little less dialogue choice since it's all voice acted, less stat heavy fighting) and it still gives me the feeling that playing Daggerfall or Baldur's Gate did back in the day. I just finished the Silver Shroud quest and I have completely decided that the female voice acting is TONS better than the Male voice acting. My wife and I are both playing through the game, and whenever she chooses the sarcastic dialogue option for her female character, she sounds hilarious, but every time I have my male character choose that option, he sounds like a douchebag. Do you guys agree? or do i just hate men?
  5. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I gave Magicka 2 a fighting chance since it was free on PS plus. I'd like to preface this by saying that I saw it was published by Paradox, and I immediately understood that it would possibly be a deep game with a steep learning curve. I like Paradox games, and I have no problem with a a game with complex systems. I played for a few hours and was immediately turned off when I realized that while there is obviously a decent amount of depth in terms of deciding what element or combination of elements to use at what time, but this depth is completely hidden behind the obnoxiously steep learning curve of memorizing what combination of how much of which elements casts which spell. While they give you hotkeys to help with this, they penalize you for using them! This communicates to me that they value memorization and muscle memory over quick thinking about what spell to cast in which situation. I suppose that you can get a decent way through the game and possibly beat it using the hotkeys with spell cooldowns, but I can't bring myself to use them when the game is penalizing me for playing the game like a baby. It feels like when you die too many times in new Nintendo games and Funky Kong or whoever carries you through the level. Except I think casting spells using hotkeys instead of preposterous button press combos is good game design and not something they should punish the player for. I'm sure it's a fun game once you learn the stuff, but while I'd be willing to put plenty of time into learning the systems of the game, I have no interest whatsoever in memorizing spells.
  6. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hi all, long time listener, first time forum-joiner. Fav games would be all of the Fallouts, all of the 'Souls', and all of the Nintendos. Fav wizard would be Fred Savage. I joined the Idle Thumbs PSN community; looking forward to playing some games with real people who are definitely not robots.
  7. Consolidated ID Exchange

Added myself to the list, new to Idle Forums, looking for sane and smart people to play games with!
