  1. Heres hoping for some Virginia talk next show!
  2. Virginia - Strange and Confounding

Well this game didn't go in the direction I expected... very interesting game. I need to play it through again I think. Soundtrack suited the game very nicely - if it shows up on bandcamp i'll probably get it.
  3. Virginia - Strange and Confounding

I've had my eye on this game for months (I love Twin Peaks). I played the demo a few weeks ago and it was pretty interesting. I heard the PS4 version doesn't run great so I bought it on steam last night. Going to play it later today!
  4. Hyper Light Drifter

Damn, missing two monuments, one node (purple thingy) and two keys.. I know most are in the east but how am I ever going to find them. I am going to have to follow a guide and comb through the entire area again... I attempted the final boss. Man, its tough. I beat all the others within 2-10 tries i'd say, but one mistake and you're done.. I am trying to memorise the attack pattern but I still can't get it. I get about 1/3 health left and loose it. Maybe i'll try again tomorrow.
  5. I sure hope Obduction comes to consoles, don't think my personal computer is up to running it.
  6. Hyper Light Drifter

West boss defeated. I was so close 2 or 3 times but he ended up taking me about 8 tries. Definitely the hardest so far, but still very manageable. Now to find the rest of the gearbits, keys and nodes!
  7. I love Hitman, man so good. Also, after listening to the show I went onto another of my weekly podcasts and they mentioned "hey this week I picked up, Lumines!" so apparently it really is a new game.
  8. Idle Thumbs 278: Beef Chief

Seems like Chris and I are playing Deus Ex the same - going into a building one way then exploring all the other possibilities in / out of the building too. Great fun!
  9. Downloaded Hidden My Game By Mom which is really great. Recommended it to a few friends, and now one of them got her entire office to download it.
  10. Idle Thumbs Streams

    Where is Hitman Bangkok, yo?
  11. I HATE movie trailers because of all the points mentioned in the show.
  12. TITANFLAPS 2

Never played a Titanfall game before, so can't comment on the changes from the original. The game is fine.. not something I am interested in. I don't like these fast paced Call of Duty style shooters anymore. Pretty neat rolling in a mech though.
  13. Hyper Light Drifter

I beat North earlier today 100%, I felt it was much easier than the East. I still need to revisit there and get the 8th node and some keys / gearbits. I think I will do that then go West!
  14. My copy arrived this morning (PS4) My early impressions copied from Neogaf: -Art direction is top. Atmosphere is great as always. I've seen the developer gameplay videos in the past but playing Prague yourself is really cool. Seems like such a massive area to explore. Very atmospheric and nice to play somewhere set during daytime. -Music seems great so far, again very atmospheric. -Frame rate is pretty smooth, noticeable drops during some conversations though. -Graphics seem decent, some character models are pretty low compared. - Hacking is better, it doesn't look as good as HR but its easier to do. No weird holding the left stick forward and releasing the button. - I've noticed the voice syncing is off some alot of the time - I had some serious pop in during a scene in the second mission / area. It was kinda funny actually. - The HUD is so cluttered with icons I wish I could make them smaller or something. Maybe I should look into the settings (I did and you can turn off alot of options and scale the HUD which is great) - Shooting doesn't feel that good. I played HR as stealth, but when I used weapons they seemed better than this game I made a goofy clip from the start of the second mission, so spoilers. The video has bad tearing, which is weird because it wasn't like that during gameplay.
  15. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

The level is fun, but it definitely feels rushed.. Recycled Paris music, NPC dialogue (i've overheard characters say lines like "great work on the cat walk"). Along with the normal only three actors voicing every single NPC apart from the British band..
  16. Idle Thumbs Streams

    Need dat Bangkok Hitman stream
  17. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

Cool mission, I like hotel levels reminds me a little of the one from Blood Money. There seems to be no new music in this mission its all just taken from the Paris mission - apart for the specific music like the cat walk or bar area.
  18. No Man's Sky

This game is the ultimate time waster. Jump on then next thing four hours have gone by..
  19. Idle Thumbs Streams

Man, I can't wait for No Mans Sky stream!

I have preordered Abzu and am pretty excited for it. So I decided to buy Journey Special Edition from PSN which is currently on sale. I have never played Flow or Flower before, and played about 15 minutes of Journey via shareplay (so not exactly ideal conditions). Some quick thoughts about the three: Flow was pretty cool. It was a little confusing to begin with because there is alot going on screen. Playing as micro organism was neat and all the different creatures looked cool. I didn't realise it was only played via motion controls - and they were a little annoying at times. Would've preferred traditional controls. Flower much less of a game than Flow, more of an experience. I liked it alot more than Flow, it was gorgeous and relaxing. Following suit I didn't know this was motion controls either, but had a much easier time controlling this game. Journey what can I say? This game was really incredible. The sound and imagery are outstanding. I really like the random coop buddy thing, had a few different people tag along with me during the game. I didn't quite get every hidden collectibles or things in the games but I "beat" all the stages which is enough for me. Edit! Abzu (PS4) while not as striking as Journey this game is wow! The gameplay, environments, art, music is so relaxing and its just gorgeous. Has to be one of the nicest looking games i've played in a long time. I am definitely going to buy the soundtrack on Bandcamp soon. The story / "lore" was pretty neat too. Soma (PS4) I do not play horror games, at all. I just don't like them, on top of that the whole hide in a cupboard while an unbeatable enemy hunts you is very boring to me (Amnesia) however Soma looked like it had a very interesting setting, I heard the story was incredible and my Sister really wanted me to buy it so we could play through it together. The game was on sale recently for something crazy like 80% off on PSN. We beat it today and I thought it was great. Really cool setting and story. Some of the environments were awesome and the game was extremely atmospheric. I did not enjoy the enemy encounters at all really, luckily most of them were extremely easy to pass. Like you literally just wait in the corner with your back turned and wait for them to pass. I expected there to be

I beat the East yesterday, boss took me four tries I think. I have taken alot of screenshots, I even copied some to USB and i'm using a few as my computer wallpaper. Playing this game, I feel like I understand Dark Souls players a little better. I've never really played them myself, but have seen plenty of videos. It's that thing where 95% of your deaths are your fault. Biting off a little more than you can chew or not concentrating on something enough. I went to this area in the East and it was just full of dudes - all of which throw stuff at you, and those plant things that explode after you hit them. I was like "I can do this" - getting really close a few times. I didn't give up and finally beat the group. The swinging your sword in the air and into the ground animation played out. It was so satisfying, so much better than the mindless button mashing controlling games. I felt like Neo for a second. I got a little bored with Fez after a while. I didn't make it very far into the game.
  22. Hyper Light Drifter

I have been looking forward to this game for so long. I thought about getting it on PC but waited for the PS4 version. I purchased the soundtrack months ago when it released on Bandcamp, and I listened to the hell out of it. Easily the best game soundtrack this year. So it came out two days ago and even though I really wanted to get it, I almost didn't because of how difficult its supposed to be. But I felt like I had to experience it for myself after loving the art style and soundtrack so much. I may never finish the game and thats okay so I picked it up last night. Wow this game is gorgeous, like insanely gorgeous. I have played about one hour so far and I am really digging it. I went East first because I heard it was easiest to start. I did run into some hard areas but got through them okay. I am not enjoying the gun much so far because its hard to aim and shoot when you're frantically trying to fight enemies. But I am very happy I picked it up. I really wish there was a PS4 theme because it would look so good.

Spec Ops: The Line Just picked this up in the latest Humble Bundle. Never really had any intention on playing it, but for that price I had to buy it. I'd seen some gameplay for this game, and already knew about the whole I finished it in around five hours on normal difficultly. It was pretty good I guess, not the completely typical story and tried some cool things. The gunplay was fun, quite a satisfying feel when shooting and the game has a good variety of weapons to use. The gameplay however got a little annoying - the sprinting and the going in / out of cover mechanics I found pretty frustrating at times. Why do some first / third person shooters use "A" or "X" to sprint? You can't use the right stick to look around when running.. Add that to the same button used for cover (like Gears of War) and you're in for a frustrating time getting stuck on walls. I died plenty of times because of this. The voice acting and music were pretty good. Captain Nathan Drake Walker was great! I really liked some of the environments and back drops too. I tried some round of multiplayer. It was pretty average, plus hardly no one is playing it.
  24. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

I really wish I could get the soundtrack for this game, its not Jesper Kyd genius, but its got quite a few cool tracks. Gonna have to wait until all the levels are out, and the disc version is released I bet.
