Unravel Been after this for a while and was sale for £4 on PSN. It was very enjoyable - gorgeous visuals, simple game mechanics (although a few weird difficulty spikes here and there). I didn't get all the trophies or collectibles but am pretty happy with my time with the game. I am going to try and follow the instructions and make my own yarny at some point for sure!
  2. Horizon: Zero Dawn

I really want to get this game, but think I am going to finish off a couple older games then get Mass Effect first. By then maybe Horizon will be slightly cheaper, but I haven't really heard a single negative thing about the game yet.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Picked this up for like £1 during the Steam winter sale. Never played it on PS3/ Xbox 360 originally. I thought it was okay, the best thing about it was all the original games starring and working on the game. I found the random character you played as had nothing interesting about him what-so-ever. I guess they had to do that? You couldn't play as one of the four GBs so instead just some voiceless, emotionless dude.
  4. Rainbow Six: Siege

I am into Frost at the moment, its so fun placing the mats in creative spots and catching people. I also like the newer operators like Hibana and Mira.
  5. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Thinking of quitting on Shadowrun. Its the first game playing the game, and it was fun at the start but its just become tedious and slow. I didn't mind reading at the start but now I can't be bothered. Because of the steam curse I already bought Dragonfall and Hong Kong too... but maybe I will enjoy them more. I just reached the Brotherhood so I am quite far into the game, so maybe I should just stick with it. That's exactly what Watch Dogs should be. You don't have access to weapons, or if so very limited. You should use the environment your hacking and investigative skills to get through each mission. I found the thing where if one enemy spots you then the entire area lights up and every single person knows your exact location ridiculous and not fun at all. Its so video gamey, I don't know why games have this mechanic.

Haha maybe, seems i've started something here!

Yeah well I played Arkham Knight, Watch Dogs 2 and Mad Max back to back. They all suffer the same issue. I guess these kind of games aren't for me anymore. I played the Ghost Recon Beta over the weekend and I am totally skipping on that game too.

Mad Max - PC - 15 Hours - Normal Difficulty One of the games I skipped on when it first came out. Was on CDKeys for something ridiculous like £3 so I had to buy it. I am kinda mixed on the game. - Game is gorgeous. The graphics, environments and weather effects were awesome. - I enjoyed the combat, kind of similar to the Arkham games except you're not flying across the room locking onto people. - Story was fine. Nothing too exciting, but easy to follow. - For a game that focuses alot on driving.. it wasn't very good. I would spin out constantly, plus I didn't think the vehicle combat was that great. - Now... its another open world game. So the first few hours I was really digging it. But then the grind kicks in - especially when you HAVE to grind to progress the story. A million side missions, and a million icons on a big map.. I explore and finish some of it but I don't fully jump in anymore like I used too. I did enjoy it, but I wish it was a little more linear and focused instead of another big open world game. But £3 and 15 hours of gameplay I really can't complain!
  9. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

  10. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

Getting the soundtrack for free was a nice touch!

Watch Dogs 2 I must be in the minority of people that enjoyed the first game. I didn't mind the dark setting - story was pretty meh. But I enjoyed the world, shooting was fun - especially cleaning out those gang hideouts. I also like the soundtrack (score not radio). So I grabbed the sequel when it was cheaper (I got WD1 way after release too). I beat it it on normal in 28.5 hours. I did a bunch of side quests, tried the mini games like races etc. I definitely got my moneys worth.. The first 15 hours or so were great then I kinda stopped paying attention to the story and the open world fatigue started to set in. What is Ubisofts deal with making open world, tons of icons on a map games? I wished they'd make more linear story focused games. Anyway, so quick takes: +Game is pretty. Nice and colourful (again I didn't hate the dark tone of the original). I dig San Fran, its fun to drive around and do stuff + Fast travel is a GODSEND. Best thing in the game + Score is great again + Some cool missions, locations and set pieces - Driving and shooting don't seem much improved over the original - Drone and RC did little for me - Story was whatever, I stopped paying attention after a while - I didn't really like or care for any characters. I obviously didn't mind Marcus so much because thats who you play as. Too much "meme", "cool", "edgy" dialogues. Ubi trying way to hard here... - The general world NPC chatter is still lame, typical "whatevers cool in the moment" stuff - The focus on guns is a mistake - in a game where you can hack and sneak around there should be no place for guns. The whole idea is you working the system and not needing to use violence - The whole "one enemy spotted you so now every NPC in the area knows your exact location and reinforcements are on the way" is cheap, lame and annoying

Batman Arkham Knight I have only played Arkham City before this game, and I pretty much did the exact same thing with both games. Finish the story, tool around with some side missions then stop. The reason I got this is because its had massive praise, its was super cheap, and I recently watched Batman v Superman and liked the Batman parts of that movie. So wanted to beat up some dudes as Batman. The game looks great from graphically and art design, sounds great too. Beating up dudes is fun. I thought the whole Joker thing throughout the game was very well done too. I do have various issues with the game however. The Batmobile is mixed - sometimes I feel like a total badass roaring around the city handbrake turning around corners. Others I am bumping into everything and crashing because of janky controls. For a game that has SO MUCH batmobile stuff that they'd get the controls down to perfection. I had to repeat certain areas or puzzles numerous times due to poor driving controls. The controls annoyed me, same with Arkham City. Too many buttons combinations that I never remember resulting in me messing up a few times in combat or looking like an idiot just trying to navigate the city. Too much enter area and wail on bad guys. Wish there was more detective and being smart gameplay elements. THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO. I actually think this is a negative. It's overwhelming, and its mostly just the same stuff. Go here beat up dudes then wait for the next mission trigger. I didn't even bother starting half of them. Its just all feels like filter. I would prefer half the amount of side missions and have them be alot more focused and fun.
  13. The Mummy trailer moaning works well with Star Wars too it seems

Persona 4 Golden (kinda) I've had this game and been playing it for like three years at this point. I am not a fan of the fusing personas or the dungeon crawling aspect, between those and getting stuck a few times I took MASSIVE breaks in between play sessions. Eventually I started again and put the difficulty to very easy (no shame) so I could just focus on the story and have fun. I really like the game. You really get the feeling of friendship playing the game. Its kinda annoying that you can't all the social links and stuff in one playthrough because you have to manage your time. But I guess people get so into it they do second or third playthroughs. So the kinda is because I got one of the bad endings where I loaded my last save up and will start the "true ending" section later tonight! I am so happy I finally finished the game (not 100%) before Persona 5. Not that you need to play any of the other Persona games but I felt after 5 comes out I will never go back and finish 4.
  16. The amount of people that ice wall you in your own spawn on Mei Snowball fight... people plz stop it.
  17. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Yeah its a real shame as the setting, story, characters, soundtrack are pretty awesome but that gameplay!
  18. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I might quit on Grim Fandango. Just started year three. The first ever point and click game I played was Broken Age last year because I wasn't a PC gamer back in the day. Its just stupidly hard. I try my best to figure stuff out, but then I look up the answer and don't feel ashamed because i'm there mostly for the story and characters. But even looking a guide I still have no idea what i'm doing. I wanted it finished before 2017 because i'm doing a clean windows install at New Years.. I will ponder on it for a little while longer.

One of the sleeper hits of the year. I got it in the summer on sale. Played through it twice, will probably another couple of times in the future to finish achievements off. The soundtrack is incredible too, bought from both from Bandcamp immediately.

Inside Finished Limbo last night and Inside today. I did it to two sittings. I much preferred it over Limbo. The dystopian setting and general ambience I liked alot more. Game sure got weird though!

Limbo Been in my pile of shame for years. I got it for free somehow on Steam ages ago. It's one of my friends favourite games and he always goes on about it to me. I am kinda torn on this game... its very good - visuals, ambience, cool puzzles. However it got so tedious as the game went on for me. I don't mind you having to keep trying puzzles, or through death you work out the solution but doing it so many times got annoying. Luckily most of the time the checkpoint would be seconds away from where you died, other times you have to complete a good 20 second thing to attempt the puzzle again. So me dying a good 5 or 10 times due to poor timing or whatever all added up. Also the thing of failing alot kinda ruins alot of moments in the game, like a cool chase moment is nowhere near as dramatic or cool if I died 5 times trying to finish it. I bought Inside during the PSN sale yesterday which i've been eager to play. I hope I like it more.. i've not heard or seen much but but the looks of it you're being chased alot.. which sounds like it could be real tedious too!

Yeah I told a couple of friends to buy the game, so hopefully one will!

Portal So I've never finished this game! I saw Portal 2 on the Steam sale for 2.99 so picked that up. So I went back to finish Portal first. Loading up my save last time I played was 2010 and made it to test chamber 8. Not sure what to say really - it was great. I especially liked the levels after everything goes wrong. Started up Portal 2 so hopefully i'll play through that soon.

Dishonored 2 Huge fan of the first game on Xbox 360. I completed it low chaos, high chaos, no powers, all the DLC. Dishonored 2 was / is easily one of my most anticipated games of 2016. I completed it a few days ago as Emily on low chaos (though not 100% stealth / non-lethal). Took me 17 hours on normal. I had a total blast playing it! I think I still prefer the first game, because back then it just came out of nowhere and blew me away. I played on OG PS4 and didn't really have any performance issues, however I did have constant graphical bugs like textures not loading on peoples faces, or weird white jaggy lines on walls. I feel like Emily's powers lean more towards lethal compared to Corvo, and I prefer non-lethal. I immediately started the game again as Corvo I think I will run through high chaos with him, then again on total low chaos no kills. I am totally going to get my moneys worth, similar to Deus Ex there is so much to explore, figure out which I love.
  25. I got this game on release day and was really into it for a month or so then really dropped off. I played i a little over the Olympic events and the Halloween one but not that much. My two friends finally just got it, and the newest update and I am right back into it. The 6v6 random hero and 3v3 elimination game modes are fantastic, but getting a box every three wins is a great incentive to play too.
