  1. Man, Albert is such a bro. Finger on the trigger the moment Diane started to act weird. Tammy too. I was initially worried when Diane approached the room and we see Gordon inside because I thought he was alone in there, but nah they got his back.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - 7ish hours normal difficulty I have mixed feelings but mostly positive. I thought Chloe and Nadine were a good pairing, nice back and forth between them, and some nice call backs to previous Uncharted games / moments. I love the visuals - graphics, background art and the views are awesome its super impressive on my base PS4. Music is great as always. I am kind of mixed with the open world thing, on one hand its new to Uncharted and makes a change from linear keep moving forward gameplay. On the other hand it felt a little lazy at times... open area 4 or 5 enemy camps / zones to clear out. I guess its nice to explore and do things at your own leisure though. I did feel the game had less combat than previous games which I prefer. Some of the puzzles were very simple and others were pretty tough so a good balance. I liked the fact it wasn't just waves of bad guys thrown at you, I hate that in games especially Uncharted.. just makes the game artificially difficult. I am disappointed that this game Overall I enjoyed playing it, for the price its definitely worth checking out.

Samorost 3 - 5 hours I do enjoy these Amanita Design games. They always have gorgeous art, music, cool puzzles and level design. I did have to use a guide for a few bits however (because I suck). I wonder what their next game will be.
  4. Yeah it even said Great Northern on his shoulder patch too.

Night in the Woods - PC - 8 Hours I really wanted to get this game when it first game out, but I had plenty of other stuff to play, and because of the setting it looked like a great game to play in Autumn so I was going to wait however it was my birthday a few weeks ago and my Girlfriend gifted it to me on Steam! I just got done playing it and I really enjoyed it. Nice simple graphics, great soundtrack (which I will be buying from Bandcamp) and just a very pleasant game to play. There wasn't much in terms of gameplay, it was mostly walking, talking and a few moments of interaction like band practice but this didn't bother me. I really enjoyed the characters and totally bought into them and their relationships. The game does a fantastic job with this aspect. It nailed the setting and I could totally imagine these characters living in a town like this, and their daily lives. The game got surprisingly deep at times which I was not expecting, and I liked it alot. It felt real and added alot to the game. I felt like I empathised with the characters which made the whole experience better. The story, while I enjoyed does end pretty abruptly in my opinion. I thought to myself okay I can feel the game winding down now I must have maybe 1 - 1.5 hours left.. nope it straight up ends which is a little disappointing. Looking at some of the achievements I missed it seems the game has two endings so I will probably give it a replay in the Autumn. I recommend this game! Also pretty sure I saw our very own Jake Rodkin listed in the credits!

  7. What Remains of Edith Finch

In depth look at Edith Finch. Lots of spoilers. https://youtu.be/6bMn4CoyUkM
  8. The amount of characters explaining the plot from the original season(s) annoyed me in this episode, ie Hawk, Truman, Ben Horne.
  9. E3 2017

That mario trailer.... the next idle thumbs is going to be a fun show!
  10. E3 2017

Not bad so far. I have enjoyed most of what i've seen. Xbox is showing alot, One X sounds promising but that price.. I think alot of people will overlook it. Especially with PS4 dominating and being cheaper. Some neat looking games at their conference, all of which however are playable on other platforms or PC so another reason to not get an One X and just play the games on PC. I thought Sony's conference was just okay... it was just a video playlist. I am glad its all about the games but it had little personality. At least Xbox had some cool colourful moments and some indies. The exclusive Sony games looks great, but every single one is a 2018 release.. At least Xbox are this year. Don't care for VR so that didn't interest me.. Some take aways: Cuphead looks great. Got a release date, and its apparently not just a boss rush game anymore so I am interested. Not super into MInecraft but improved graphics and unifying all the platforms is neat The Last Night is my pixel art Blade Runner dream come true, I hope Ooblets looks really cute, shame on the 2018 release Dishonored DLC is awesome. More Dishonored is awesome Loved Wolfenstein TNO and TOB will get this new one for sure No Splinter Cell = Booooooo Lets see what Nintendo have later this afternoon.

I picked up the Mankind Divided season pass as it finally went on sale on PSN. I enjoyed the three DLCs, the first two were pretty short though. But just getting some more Deus Ex stuff to play for a few hours made it worth it.
  12. Not limited to episode one, but man the meme game has been tremendous so far. It's been non-stop. I am quite enjoying it. I recommend this facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/firewalkwithmemes/
  13. It's the most ridiculous looking thing i've ever seen.. straight up.
  14. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Fallout New Vegas So I bought this on PC a while ago and it would instantly crash when I started. With the recent-ish Windows 10 update I tried again and it works! Fallout 4 was my first game in the series which I enjoyed for a while but lost interest the more I played, plus I always hear Fallout 3 and NV are great so I was curious. I made it two hours but its just so dated, clunky and I loathe the UI / menus. There are probably some mods to streamline a few of my criticisms but I just can't be bothered. I just think that series isn't for me.
  15. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I was tempted to Darksiders 2 on sale ready for after I finish the first. But I think I will skip on them both now. That first dungeon didn't really interest me, neither did any of the bosses or enemy encounters. I also HATE in games where you go into an area, the game stops and the camera pans around finishing on the big shiny door or object you need to get to. Its so video gamey and lame.
  16. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition Four hours in just beat the first dungeon. I don't know its just not clicking with me. Combat is average, some camera jank. I might give it a little more time.

Black Mesa - 11 hours - normal/easy Managed to grab this from a forum I use for £2 (it was in a recent humble bundle). I only played probably 20 minutes of the original Half Life on PS2 when it first came out, I have played Half Life 2 however on PC. I liked it, definitely got my moneys worth! I did experience a few hiccups and weird physics stuff in a few places but overall it wasn't bad. Game looked and run well. I just discovered the final part "Xen" is supposedly out this summer so I guess i'll play that to truly finish the game later. Headlander - 7 hours Got this in a recent steam sale with soundtrack for £5. I would've got it last year but had enough games at the time, plus I am not really into Metroidvania style games, however I like Double Fine and the game looked so stylish. I had tons of fun, I initially didn't like the combat much but grew to like it. The back tracking didn't bother me too much, although I got lost a few times. The visuals and soundtrack are top notch. Shame it seems alot of people slept on this game!

Dishonored 2 - Replay - Easy - 6 Hours So i've not played D2 since finishing it when it first came out. Felt like running through doing a no kill, powers or being spotted run. I played the first game like three times through (high chaos, low chaos, full stealth). Man game is so great, such good level design. Can't wait for story DLC. Bound - 1.5 Hours? Picked this up on sale last month, looked cool last year but didn't have time for it. What a neat game. The audio x visuals are nutso. I don't care for achievements / trophies but they aren't great here. Pretty much all tied to speed-running or collectibles. Well worth checking this game out.
  20. Horizon: Zero Dawn

I beat the game, wrote my impressions in the recently completed games thread.

Horizon Zero Dawn - 29.5 hours on normal (about 15) then easy (15) finished at level 37. Very interesting game... I wasn't consumed by the hype for this game, but I did think it looked great. I have quite mixed feeling on it. I was excited, saw all the E3 and game conference stuff and it looked great. It's just a solid third person action game. Definitely could be the start of something new. But i'm not like madly in love or like it's the best thing ever. - The game is gorgeous, the landscapes, lighting, design of the robots, settlements are all awesome. The occasional bug out or lip sync thing stands out alot more than normal because of how great it looks most of the time, however this was very rare. Super kudos to GG for the achievement here. - Interesting story once it gets going, I quite enjoyed it. I really didn't enjoy the dialogue most the time, it was super video gamey at times and MY GOD Aloy speaking to herself during the entire game really got on my nerves - its so unnecessary and over the top. There were times when Aloy would be pointless talking to herself, an audio diary playing and Slyens talking to me. - Gameplay is okay, I got frustrated with the climbing most of the time and I often missed arrow shots which I feel were spot on but whatever. I love however that you can pretty much Skyrim up any mountain which is great for taking short cuts. I disliked the fact if you are spotted every single enemy in the area automatically knows your location and you just get overwhelmed. - Focus. Why does every game need a "detective" cheat mode?? Okay, well I *kinda* get it here, as it links with the story like ancient tech but man, almost every game. Feels cheap. Over the last four months I played Arkham Knight, Watch Dogs 2, Mad Max and playing open world games is weird. I always lose interest the more I play, every game is full of icons and collectibles and its too much for me. I play the story, a few side missions that interest me. I missed alot of stuff in Horizon but I think I am okay with that. The problem with side missions in this game is they are basically the same thing over and over... Get side mission. "Investigate area". Open your focus and scan objects, Aloy pointless talks to herself "hmm a barrel, looks used...", continue scanning.. follow trail.... encounter NPC, enemy etc. Mission complete. Literally 90% of the side missions is just this over and over again. Became a real bore. So yeah, the game is fine. I am happy its over and done with. I do not regret buying or playing it, but yeah probably won't be in my top 10 of the year. I would probably rate it 7/10.
  22. Rainbow Six: Siege

I have been playing badly the last few days, but still jump on every day to chip away at the challenges. Just updating the game now (PS4) then i'm going on to see the bugs!
  23. Horizon: Zero Dawn

I am around 13 hours into the game, level 17 I think. I have mixed feelings on it. - Its very pretty, but the occasional bug out or lip sync thing stands out alot more than normal because of how great it looks most of the time. Lighting, day cycles, and landscapes are incredible. I love the world and art direction too, such a wide mix of stuff here. - Gameplay is okay, I get frustrated with the climbing most of the time and I often miss arrow shots which I feel are spot on but whatever. I also love that you can pretty much Skyrim up any mountain which is great for taking short cuts. - I am interested seeing where the story goes, but so far it seems fairly standard. I really didn't enjoy the dialogue so far (which won't change) especially the start with Aloy constantly talking to herself. It just screams video gamey to me. - Focus. Why does every game need a "detective" cheat mode?? Okay, well I *kinda* get it here, as it links with the story but man, almost every game. Just press a button and see the icon to follow on the ground, or scan this and that its just... ugh. Because of this alot of the missions are just scan area, follow trail to encounter. Over the last four months I played Arkham Knight, Watch Dogs 2, Mad Max and playing open world games is weird. I always lose interest the more I play, every game is full of icons and collectibles and its too much for me. I play the story, a few side missions that interest me. So I will probably miss alot of stuff in Horizon but I think I am okay with that. I was excited for this game, I saw all the E3 and game conference stuff and it looked great. But I didn't get myself super hyped for it. It's just a solid third person action game. Definitely could be the start of something new. But i'm not like madly in love or like it's the best thing ever. The next two games I am interested in are Mass Effect and Persona 5, both massive games but I feel a little more linear so they should be alot more focused (I hope)
