  1. [v2 - The Dab Update] The Eyes of Cheatin Hitman

Lol, this took me almost two days of fumbling through tutorials to figure out. I give you - Lady in dress with green flower. She is faceless at the moment.
  2. Hey, Wizard Jam community! I'd like to put together an audio advertisement for Wizard Jam 4 to highlight the different voices and personalities of our community. Here's how to participate 1. Record yourself with loose adherence to the following script (the shorter/tighter, the better and more useable) 2. Upload your mp3 file in this thread 3. Check back in for the compilation Script I'm [name/handle] (optional) I've made [past wizard jam games] (optional) and I jam because [reason] (required) Production We're hoping to edit this in a couple ways - long versions, short versions, and if we get it really well produced we might even try to convince the Idle Thumbs to tack it onto the end of a podcast episode! Below I've included a longer intro that we might put at the beginning of the pitch, and it includes my own "Why I Jam" response. Have fun, and I look forward to hearing your voices - Jon WizJam4PlugIntro_Raw.mp3
  3. WJ4 "Why I Jam" Audio Compilation

    Great submission
  4. Wow, this is a front runner for Title of the Jam
  5. WJ4 "Why I Jam" Audio Compilation

    hahahahahahahaha
  6. WJ4 "Why I Jam" Audio Compilation

Inspiring story We'll grab bits for the ad, but we'll include the full thing in the unabridged version!
  7. WJ4 "Why I Jam" Audio Compilation

    hahahaha
  8. WJ4 "Why I Jam" Audio Compilation

These are great, you guys. Now we need more!!!
  9. WJ4 "Why I Jam" Audio Compilation

We could also use some background music for the ad - I'm thinking something fun, but probably without vocals, and it has to be something freely available.
  10. WJ4 "Why I Jam" Audio Compilation

As far as the "Why I Jam" question goes, think of your past game(s) - what was in them? Explosions? Pizza? Rat Kings? Dots? Thumbs? Guns? Did you do the art? the sound? the design? the code? Did you finish your project? collaborate? learn a new skill? meet a new friend? We all get something out of this process, and whether common or unique I think they're all worth hearing
  11. Welcome to Wizard Jam 4!

Did we get any progress on this? I think it sounds like a great idea. I have an alternate or supplementary idea, too! An audio advertisement to go at the end of the Idle Thumbs podcast in which current and former Wizard Jammers each answer the question, "Why I Wizard Jam" in 10-20 seconds. I would volunteer to gather the raw audio from the community and put the ad together. I didn't realize how neat it would be to meet community members until the first time I did Wizard Jam, so I think it would be fun to put voices to some of the names in here.
  12. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

I'm making The Eyes of Luigi! A FPE game where you are Luigi locked in Mario's bedroom and the key to get out is buried somewhere in the piles of success cluttering the room. I began building some FPE tools a while back and I'd like to use them in a real game. Tools: -floating text above objects -clickable objects with optional inventory My favorite Luigi is the Luigi's Mansion version - scared, cautious, cute, soft, hums along to the music I am drawing all of the graphics as scribbles on my phone. I'll attach my first gif for reference later today. I need help with ideas for props - the contents of Mario's bedroom and thoughts of how they'd make Luigi feel while he digs through them. I'm thinking things like a picture of Peach, Yoshi's toys/leash, and loads and loads of trophies from past adventures. I'm expecting Luigi to feel insignificant, inferior, proud of his accomplished brother. I could use help drawing these props in 2D, because I plan to turn them into camera-facing sprites. I need help finding a light-hearted background song that I can loop and occasionally have Luigi hum along with. I would like it to sound like it could fit in a Nintendo game. I plan to record my own voice as Luigi's barks, but anything longer than one or two words will be rendered as text in-game. I'm open to all sorts of other kinds of help, but I've listed the stuff I know will take me the longest. Let me know if you're interested and stay tuned for a bunch of stupid first-person Luigi gifs
  13. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

Woah, I can't believe I didn't see this gif earlier - this is incredible! Also, I set that "cell phone" audio as my sms ringtone, lol, and by now my wife is pretty sick of it.
  14. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

Thank you for the kind comments It's fun to know that somebody has found the game this long after the jam.
  15. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

I just watched your stream; thanks for playing! lol, the items are inventories themselves, so when you pull up the letter or the gift inventory you can keep scrolling through them to access the items within. That's how you find the cassette tape and how you find the vacuum to get the ghosts. When you want to keep an item, if allowed, you can click the "Keep Item" button and it'll store in Luigi's personal inventory. It's definitely not clear enough, and the buttons in the UI even overlap a bit so on occasion you'll scroll the wrong direction through the items. I'd change all that if I were making it more than a jam game, but unfortunately the interface I published was all I had time for Thanks for the kind comments It's really fun to watch people play your game and laugh a little!
  16. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

yep, he did it by jumping on the shelves. they're very thin, and when I created them I didn't think about the fact that they have colliders by default. If I had added a ceiling like I originally planned it would never have been possible, but I kind of like that it is right now
  17. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

lol, and now I'm kind of worried that nobody is going to find the key to open the door anymore - poor Luigi, what have I done?
  18. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

Thanks, again, to everyone for the kind reviews Spenny streamed the game last night and ended it in a way I didn't know possible. He laughed at all the parts I hoped a player might! I added a fix first thing this morning to make sure future suicidal Luigis still see the credits roll; here's the gif to prove it:
  19. [Release] Zombie Train Beyond Earth

I loved this game! So much Blendo Games to it The brains on every table, the zombies staring at you, their demeanor and clothes lol, the curtain snapping shut. It's all so good! I'm jealous of your minimalist storytelling aptitude. You make so much out of just a few assets.
  20. [RELEASE] Rigid Body Rat King

The rat king is perfect. I can't tell how much animation you actually had to make for this, but it seems like a ton - the style you chose matches the tone of the game well. I'm really impressed with all of this
  21. [RELEASE] Idle Thumbs Simulator 2000

Oh man! I didn't know you could play back your episode!? I really enjoyed this game - podcast segments mashed up together always make me chuckle - and I like the visual style. Great job!
  22. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

So glad you enjoyed it! Try two straight weeksAlso, I've gotten a lot of feedback that the key seems to pop up in the inventory without players perceiving it's acquisition. I need to lower the transparency of the ghosts who carry the key to make it more visible
  23. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

Thanks for the comments, everyone, and thanks for playing! FYI, I've uploaded a new build (probably the final major one) with a legitimate credits and thank you section complete with Lord Fluffington's High Court by Akidu Now when you exit the room the game will wrap itself up like a real game ought to
  24. [Dev Log] Build The Nublar

Build the Nublar 2: A Public Work
  25. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

Heyo! I just pushed a new build: * restricts the screen to 5:4 (which still doesn't totally hide Luigi's arms, but comes close enough * Includes Mac version * Ghosts spawn in random locations (like behind you) * Application quits when you unlock the door
