  1. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Do that one separately. It's just absurdly difficult to do both but individually they are pretty straight forward.
  2. Far Cry PRIMAL

Oh fuck imagine if towers are brachiosaururs and they are MOBILE TOWERS. Oh wow that would be amazing.
  3. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Yeah cause feel free to ask me for details cause I did get that done.
  4. Episode 324: Tower Defense

Tower defense multiplayer is also amazing (the ones where you buy and choose what minions to send to the other guy's base). Bless Wintermaul TD in all of its variations for WC3.
  5. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Also few cool world building dialogues can only be heard if you go around stalking your targets on those stalking missions.
  6. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

    Hahahahahahaha... lol
  7. International Politics

I don't think it's corporate 'backing' per say... more like damage caused by deregulated corporations made people more susceptible to 'us-v-them' mentalities, including xenophobia.
  8. Three Moves Ahead 323: Company of Heroes

Yes. And for me, it's not just randomness, it's randomness in multiplayer environment. I enjoy my share of procedurally generated single player games (including rogue-likes, notorious for unforgiving RNG). But for online multiplayer (local is fine) I think any sort of percieved 'injustice' by the game just turns me into pile of salt. And it's also whenever control over a squad breaks down cause of some pathfinding issue that drives me nuts. Like whenever you have a vehicle and squad in close proximity, you can see just how fubar the control gets cause game wants the squad to dedicate their time avoiding the vehicle and it's just a cluster%$*)
  9. Three Moves Ahead 323: Company of Heroes

It's just... the podcast was mostly about multiplayer and CoH series just does not work with me for multiplayer. I crave precision for multiplayer games and this series' squad's autonomous-ness just drives me nuts sometimes even in singleplayer, I can't cope with that in multiplayer. Like mortar for example... that thing an straight up kill a squad or sometimes just miss. That sort of variation leaves me too salty. Maybe I need to grow up but for now, I would be just way too salty and pissed playing this game online.
  10. Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence

Still digging into this game, it's really good but also commits few atrocious design mistakes that just shouldn't be there in 2015... like not showing unit's attack power. Truly a diamond (core game) in a rough (UI mishaps). So good but so rough. Time to make my anime custom officers to rule the era in glorious anime weeboo tide.
  11. Three Moves Ahead 323: Company of Heroes

Bit off topic since podcast mostly talked about CoH as multiplayer game, but I wish next installment of singleplayer for CoH just took one gigantic map and let the player navigate around it for few hours. I mean some of bigger missions are pretty much this, except I'm imagining just one gigantic version.
  12. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

But when you unlock 50 cal sniper rifle they become easy mode so don't worry.
  13. Undertale - No need to kill things, even if they try kill you

Yeah game comes off very well overall but I don't like the visuals at all either.
  14. Stealing

Ah then yeah, it's something that's always on my mind cause it is filled with gray areas in my opinion.
  15. A potential cure for "stacks of doom"

CiV actually does have that to a small degree. Say you have 4 iron and you build 4 swordsman (think conversion ratio is 1 to 1). If you lose iron but still have those 4 swordsman, they get insufficient resource penalty but are still on the map. Also the new HP system kinda have in between state of alive-dead, as unit's HP dictates its combat effectiveness (takes more damage and deals less damage (beauty of this system is that from user end's view, it is so deceptively simple but backend calculation actually handles wide variety of scenarios very well)). Neither of those are as big as samples you were thinking about, but something is there and I think those worked pretty well. And my favorite example of this is units near border diplomacy trigger... where if you station units near AI's border, they ask you to remove them (or you can declare war in same screen) and if you don't, hostility goes up. It is probably my favorite example of Civ design that just ties all elements of the game (tiles, military, diplomacy, economy) together in such simple, elegant and fluid (the aspect you were thinking of I think?) way. I guess it's that fleeting ideal of simplest design for the most complex system that us designers are looking for in a nutshell Following opinion is getting very off topic so gonna put this in spoilers
  16. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Isn't this UN in a nutshell? Or is my world history bit shaky and UN as organization actually managed to do something beyond the wills of security council members?
  17. A potential cure for "stacks of doom"

Yeah that's excellent point. For it to work it is probably going to be weirdly specific and complex for genre as wide as 4X games. In 4X combat should be kept light because even without deep combat it is just so easy for fighting to draw the focus of the game away from everything else.
  18. Stealing

Just to clarify, this isn't an attempt to make a passing snide remark? If not then oh yeah, I guess I'm blessed/cursed with weirdly petty memory. Also got the ad like a week ago which coincided with the heated exchange on DMCA on the other thread (hence my raised suspicion on taking comments under good faith).
  19. anime

    Nooooooo~~~
  20. Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics

Outside of Dr. Boom, are there really that many legendaries that really make or break? I guess if you want a control deck big legendaries are important.
  21. Amateur Game Making Night

Dinosaur you better win that $500 worth of tacos~
  22. A potential cure for "stacks of doom"

Throw away stacks with 1 unit each just to get the 'pincer' bonus would break this.
  23. Stealing

I think I found the source of that greco-roman pillar in early part of your game clyde. I saw something identical in Columbia University mail ads. But that style is pretty generic so maybe not, but it did look identical.
  24. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Yeah I got all the side ops (including that darn R&D target one) down. I'm missing like 20 animals so I guess that's pretty big portion of it. By development I meant weapons/gear. Although it's still showing A grade for 2 categories (D-Walker), I really hope I didn't bug out few blueprints :x
  25. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Hmm got all s/tasks/development done but stuck at 94%, I guess 1 or 2% more could be from getting super rare animals but do I need GZ file or something to get full 100%???
