About four hours? A little bit under, I want to say 3:45, but it's definitely gonna be another 4-5 in the chair to get the rest of the shading and color done.
-
I got this sweet ink last weekend and the itching is starting to finally die down and the healing has begun. Can't wait to go back for color in a month!

juv3nal you've ruined me That's literally going to be my Friday night after the strikes Just put some other tunes on and scout rifle it up
-
7PM sounds good; I will bail out of work early (Friday, Friday). The strikes aren't level-based, so we can chew through literally all of them in probably an hour since we're all 20+. Pre-emptive warning: sometimes my house network throws a hissy-fit and I'll d/c for a hot second; I'll jump back into the fireteam ASAP.
-
I thought it was a level 22, or did it just reset? Regardless, I'd be game. I'm 22 right now, but I'm five light points away from dinging 23.

I hadn't considered that possibility and now I am only set up for sadness THANKS

True fact: I watched this trailer four times back to back with the express intent of figuring out which state's license plate theirs is based on. It's a Delaware color scheme with whatever crest of the city vanitied on the left side; six digit standard pattern and a symbol means apparently the Prince of Boy Bands is shelling a whopping 50 gil (assuming 1:1 USD:gil) a year to have that on the back of his ride. Also a true fact: any scene without the car in it I spent transfixed at how good looking those dudes are and how perfect their hair is. Tegan, re: Nomura, he announced that he was leaving the project to go do other games "only he could do" So now FFXV can actually come out, and that's pretty rad

Korax that is the most incredible idea I've ever heard. I think what blows my mind is that the game gives you the opportunity to exchange materials for Crucible marks, which I 100% did back in the beta because there was nothing to do with Spinmetal, and now *not so much*.

Matchmaking doesn't seem to exist for story; just strikes/strike playlist and Crucible. What I'd really love is a story-based toggle; there are some missions I'd rather run alone purely for nostalgia's sake (and because after a certain point the challenge kind of disappears when you have a bunch of level 20+ folks chewing through a level 20 hard mode mission). I ran the final story mission solo last night (after, you know, a week of avoiding it), and I feel like if I had done it with friends/other people it wouldn't have had the challenge I feel should be present in a Final Mission. The Strike Playlist matchmaking is hilarious, because so far I've *just* encountered other people running it for marks, and since Strikes don't have a difficulty scale, you'll get Devil's Lair or something and rip through it in five minutes.

eShop page is finally up and clears that confusion: http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/8GnzgLRe8-ifS047QNoFsrvDn8k6R4Ey "Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive. Bayonetta comes packed in with the purchase of every retail packaged version of Bayonetta 2. Nintendo eShop purchases of either Bayonetta or Bayonetta 2 will include an automatic discount on the other game." So Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 digitally are tied to each other; buying one gives you a discount on the other. So the end result will put you out $60, but I have absolutely no clue how they're going to price Bayonetta 2/1 on the eShop as a result. Probably they're both $50, but buying one drops the other to $10?

Yeah that... that's so incredibly MMO it hurts. Reminds me of why I wanted nothing to do with Binding Coil of Bahamut when I played FFXIV. "Well, I could spent several hours slogging through this and pray I get an armor drop only to get some useless thing, or I could level up another class" I do think that's one thing Destiny has going for it; if you're all about the grind and doing the same missions over and over, having six sub-classes to level up is an incredible amount of content. Considering I've run Shrine of Oryx about 20 times already, something tells me I won't be too chuffed to do it another 20 times. If you're someone who measures "Game Quality = Time Spent Doing All The Things," Destiny seems like pretty good bang for buck.

That Coyote Cape the Speaker sells for Hunters is pretty nice Which brings up another point: how does everyone feel about the aesthetic options in this game? I think the shaders are pretty goofy, and some of them are downright painful to look at, but maybe I'm in the minority there.

I'm *really* hoping that one's on offer again this weekend; the Arc Blade bonus is just hilariously nasty. I've been proccing Strange Coins at an alarming rate; I feel like probably 75% of my blue engrams end up being Strange Coins or Motes of Light. Did any of the weekend-only stuff need Motes, or is that still just locked to the Speaker?

Yeah re: faction armor and crucible/vanguard mark lockouts (which is so wonderfully MMO, Bungie cannot even move past Stage 1), does anyone have particular orders they'd attach to getting that gear? Headgear is obviously $$$ compared to everything else (and with a cap of 100/week, I don't think you can get those for two weeks), but offers the most light, whereas boots/chest/arms are all less and probably won't give you that free level boost. Also, Korax, are you already past level 20, or at the soft cap? I haven't seen one of those yet, but I uh, I should also probably actually finish the story instead of just running bounties, strikes, and older missions with friends nonstop.

Shotguns are I think 100% useless unless you are mucking around on the moon with Hive swarms or roll Bladedancer Hunter and are operating pretty much exclusively close-range. What does everyone use as a secondary in PvP? I see a lot of fusion rifles, but I find them unwieldy when your enemies don't move predictably, and prefer to be that Awful Sniper Guy everyone hates rather than that Guy Who Gets Killed Always that everyone hates.

Super Smash Bros. (Spoiler: Snake Kills Ganondorf)

I basically killed my entire weekend playing the demo, and came to the conclusion that Smash on 3DS is not a super great idea. Am I still going to buy it in October? Yes, because I am A Chump. Is the laggier connection on local multiplayer and lack of ability to harass my friends because we are all staring at Tiny Screens going to hurt how I feel about Smash? Also yes. -
The actual wording of the Cracked article is amazing. Zoe's a champion human, and given the toxic nature of Cracked comments, I'm thrilled to see such a great piece on the site. The Cracked editors calling out their own user base for being scummy about this whole campaign of abuse was a great touch as well. That said, yeah, the surrounding "Top 10 Hot Football Wives" and the comments (yes, first rule is don't read the comments, but also know thy enemy) make Cracked a really scary place to put something like this out. If I didn't already have the Maximum Respect for Zoe Quinn, it would be there now. And re: terrible ads on websites, I think Cracked (obviously) and likely RPS and others all just use ad sense, which pulls based on your history/site content. I work for a sports network and get a bunch of "Top 10 Freak Athletes" next to the aforementioned "Football Wives" based solely on the fact that I'm checking our homepage on the regular to make sure it isn't broken.

Hey guys! What with the hullabaloo about how raids will only take six of your bffs with no matchmaking (and also getting routinely stomped on level 18 strikes), I realized that maybe playing with other cool people is a good way to play Destiny! I'm djmctool on PS4/PSN (see also the PSN thread), and I'll put in a request to [iDLE] momentarily. Let's shoot some robots/aliens/totally not Warhammer Space Marines!
-
PSN: djmctool I am not proud of this, it was youthful foolishness. I swear, Sony could charge me 15 American Dollars to change it and I would.

Hi friends! aprettycooldude/jmd/djmctool (ugh Sony please I was 18, make it stop)/whatever other handle I use on the internet here! Been listening to Thumbs for a while on a friend's recommendation. It was a good one. I've been looking for a solid Video Games Community for a while now; most of the ones I've been to in the past are either dead or filled with Terrible Humans, and the Thumbs crew and like-minded folks here on the forum seem to be good people. I dunno maybe y'all are just good people in disguise. Or good lizard people. Who knows! I exist on the internet on Twitter, Tumblr, and a few other places I guess. Howdy!
