I have done that exact play through because I was so uninterested in the story. The ending was... Pretty fitting. Good luck with the Legion.

Twin Peaks Rewatch 30: Beyond Life and Death
SuperBiasedMan replied to Jake's topic in Twin Peaks Rewatch Episodes
I had to get up at 5am today and arrive over an hour early to work with no-one else here so I'm grabbing the time to watch this while I can. The opening investigation is such garbage. Why would King Arthur matter at all? Let alone all the other contrived details they choose to tie together in the first five minutes. In general there were rushed bits of wrap up in this episode, but admittedly it is way better than dwelling on floundering plotlines anyway. As with the first viewing I do really love the red room sequence. And from chatter on here/being older I feel like I follow what's going on in it a lot better this time round. On that note, this time round I found myself wondering if there might be something more particular to the 'How's Annie?" line. On my first viewing I presumed it was just to show Cooper's state but I now find myself wondering if there's supposed to be a hint towards Annie's condition too. -

Against my better judgement, I'm up for playing. -
This is more about an example than a point, but the sexualisation in Bayonetta is also just not the same as in Game of Thrones. Bayonetta offers you control over a sexualised character that you focus on for the entire time. Game of Thrones features up to 3/4 scenes with naked people per episode. If it bothered you enough you could literally just skip those scenes (although you would miss story stuff in them). They're not both tarred with the same brush of sexualisation, they both have problematic sexualisation in fundamentally different ways so each individual will react differently to how bad each is, there's no objective answer or special box they get put in. I'm not saying that Bayonetta is worse by the way, but I'm indicating why someone could feel very differently about the two of them.

I know that it was on the Day Today and Alan Partridge used it too. -

Ending on bombshells predates Clarkson, doesn't it? -
Well that is a bit of a concern in a learning book but I don't know why both pages have been put here.

It was funny to hear the Thumbs talk about how $100 feels like so much to take out to them still, since that's how I feel about €50 and I usually just take out 20's. That's probably mostly due to me being over half a decade less grown up and not living in San Francisco though. Wait, what? Those are both wrong? :S -
Twin Peaks Rewatch 29: Miss Twin Peaks

If Chris and Jake want to keep this subforum largely for official threads, we could always set up a Lynch film club thread in another forum and continue on there. I've only seen Blue Velvet and nothing else of Lynch so I'd be interested. -

I'm currently paying just shy of post tax 50% since I'm doing double rent for a while longer.

Chrome is dropping support for an API that makes a bunch of stuff stop working, including the Unity plug in but doesn't affect HTML5 stuff. -
Oh please, call me Mangela. Mr. Lansbury is my father.

It is narratively consistent for this to be in Early Access.

Either the screenshots are resized awkwardly or it certainly has some problems with it. I'm generally more of a fan of low res stuff that makes it blatantly obvious it's pixel art not pixellated but I don't feel that strongly about it.
-
There is no way to read that but villainously.
-
Hrmmm. Am I giving game playing people too much benefit of the doubt? Alternatively I might be investing too much though into the idea that stuff can be drastically tonally and stylistically different. I've never released a financial product so it's not something I've had to worry about much yet. If push came to shove tho I'd still use it, cause my non pixel art is just far more aesthetically ugly and off-putting.
-
Largely I think there's plenty of truth in that article. I think the lesson is a bit mislearned though. It's the job of the artist to communicate with an appropriate style but exactly how you present the pixel art makes a big difference. It's not that pixel art ubiquitously signals one thing, it depends highly on how you use and stylise it. A non mobile platform definitely does better with this stuff because of people's expectations. But I do think that you could make a pixel art mobile game work well, it's just hard. And that is generally true of pixel art, it's harder than it really ought to be since you're taking that degree of exact control over work.

That's so shitty. My college didn't even ask me for money the first time round.

Surely this isn't the first time an item was removed from the PSN store? If it really is, that makes it a bizarrely much bolder move.
