  1. Idle Thumbs Streams

    Dark Souls 1 Spoiler
  2. [RELEASE] The Eyes of Luigi

Idea for prop: A picture of Mario with Waluigi.
  3. Does anyone know if it has any semblance of multiplayer and if so what's it like, good/bad? Just curious because it might be fun to get my brother interested. We could hotseat a regular game but multi would probably be better.
  4. I think that's a pretty low bar when phrased that way.
  5. I haven't followed it closely but I know the devs were aware of that problem and tried to make it more accessible as a priority.
  6. Idle Weekend May 6, 2016: Top This

It's funny that email talked about Dark Souls as mental exercise, because I started the game again a little while ago with the idea that it would make me more patient and conscientious. I tried playing it before and eventually the game crushed me and I bowed out. This time round, I had a better idea of what to do going in, but by the halfway point I didn't feel like it was really demanding all that much intellectually out of me. I mostly had to memorise enemy locations/patterns and retain a sense of carefulness. But it really wasn't pushing me to be patient or any of the things I expected. I am not some sort of souls lord though, I didn't become that good at the game. I probably just overlevelled or accidentally got a really good build because even the final boss only took a few tries. I still hadn't really figured out his attack patterns when he died. I enjoyed the game a lot and am glad I was able to finish it in the end, but I don't think the game really lives up to the American dream style idea of "Anyone can make it if you try hard enough". PS: Chris/whoever edited the episode, you left in both versions of the transitions between segments. Danielle says "And with that we'll go to our mailbag after this word from our sponsors. (pause) And I'll do another just in case. And with that, we'll go into our mailbag."
  7. Recently completed video games

I just beat Dark Souls, surprisingly. The first time I tried to play it I got just over halfway through before the game crushed me and I abandoned it. This time I played differently, got into the groove and after the halfway point it just became easier and easier. I was sorta over leveled, but also I think it's just not as punishing when you find a way to play that works for you. Good game, the second half got so much easier tho that I'd almost want to get another one, but I must resist the temptation and jam instead.
  8. [Dev Log] The First Great Brand War

Welcome! I like the sprites on this so I look forward to seeing what you do. I've heard of pico8 on twitter a lot so if you'd be posting about how it works I'll be super interested.
  9. Awesome, I want to see twitch chat inspired Breckon face design.
  10. Hah, I just added Dr. to mine and at all fell into place. Are you doing a devlog at some point too? I'd be interested to see your take too. EDIT Well now I see it's there.
  11. [Release] Computer Processing Unit

"a division devoted to the inspection of enigmatic computers from foreign worlds" I don't know what that means but I'm sold.
  12. [Release] Twenty Year Old Weird House

Huh, I'm not sure I've seen a point and click physics platformer. Curious to see your weird house!
  13. Calm your irrational fears, you have nothing to fear from the Sausage Face. Doctors recommend a therapy of fave submission and fave training to relax.
  14. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I did know I was skipping the Capra and going through Blight town backwards, I just found it easier than fighting Capra. I have since beaten him but just not ventured into the Depths.
  15. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

By the time I needed the greater shards, it would just spend my 10-20k souls on that when I didn't have enough to level up. I haven't had to farm chunks because uh, I had to fight a lot of the enemies who drop them.
  16. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I was really confused by everyone talking about the gaping dragon that I hadn't met yet until I realised it's in the Depths, which I just sequence broke and skipped. Even now I don't wanna go back down in case I end up being cursed.
  17. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I've been playing and it doesn't seem to be reliably online. I tried to summon help in Anor Londo for ages, only to realise that there was no orange messages anywhere. But it definitely works at times. Also about co-op, do I have to be at an appropriate level to be summoned to another person's game? I haven't really co-oped into people's games but I'd like to try it out. I'm just not sure if it's actually... possible or not.
  18. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Weird I had no trouble with her at all. Her attacks are so simple and quite short range that you can easily avoid them and bow her. But I guess I got a lot of practice cheesing people with arrows.
  19. Both this and the latest Playscape LA aren't working right now, might be a sitewide problem with their cast host?
  20. Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)

Personally the hybrid that can play Wii U games would be a dream. The Wii U is the only platform I feel like I'm missing out on by not having it. I don't have a TV anyway, just a PC monitor, so having the portable option would make this easier and means I can just play on the couch. I don't know how realistic it is, but I think it's an attractive prospect.
  21. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I burned a lot of souls into resistance just to get through the swamp, since I went there too early (I took the back door in). And now I have to throw some souls at faith just to use my new bow. I'm still probably doing a better job than last time though.
  22. What kinda guy? Charge, ice, bendy, tree?

  24. Games giveaway

Is that Gunman Clive a US only code from the Nintendo humble bundle?
