That's the first time I've seen Riff Raff, but based on that photo he can't hold a candle to Laser Ted.

I'm not sure what region you're in, but if you're an EU player I could probably be summoned in to help depending on your level? I think I have a character sitting in DS1 that'd be about the right level for Anor Londo. (in case you don't know, you can only summon people if they're close to your level)

Idle Fiction Jam - Rumours and Hearsay
SuperBiasedMan replied to SuperBiasedMan's topic in Idle Banter
In response to an earlier deadline, that is a thought. What do other people think? twig's right that a gap is nice for downtime, plus people can read and give/absorb final feedback. We are already doing that a bit, but I'm sure some people will only really post and engage with other stories when we've got our final drafts. We could have it that the 1st of each month is submission day, and the 4th is always the new theme. That gives a few days of downtime without eating into your time to write too much. Also I'm way late but I still wanna give some feedback. I like yours a lot wooben. The split in perspectives works really well. I thought it'd end up being a more boring retreading of stuff, but the focus on internal monologue is good, and the fact that you don't repeat any info helps. Especially since that actually feels true to the character. Mawd, yours reads as a real stream of consciousness outpouring in really rad way. I never really got a good grip on what exactly was happening or individual sentences meant but they did the job tonally. I'm super curious about the thought process that led to here from Space Boss. It's funny how bleak we're being with such a lofty title. I just read yours too twmac and the down to earth nature of it was a good contrast to what I've been immersed in. I don't know if this was entirely intentional, but through the story there was a lot of tension in my about whether it would go well. I was mostly worried about how Claudio would react, even if he liked the main character. I am also a sucker for a declarative introduction like "It was April 25th 1974 when everything changed.". I could totally picture you writing that down and then not knowing where to go from there. -
Idle Fiction Jam - Rumours and Hearsay

4th of July! That's when the next theme will be activated. Also thanks for the feedback folks. I haven't answered yet as I'm going to post a new draft when I do, with a lot changed actually. I also plan to give other people feedback too. SoonTM -
Idle Fiction Jam - Rumours and Hearsay

I have the first section of my first draft done. I need to really focus, because I got too distracted writing this and it took me a long time. Apologies about the formatting, not sure how to make it look good in a post. I also have some pretty significant issues. There's way too much "Alli" and "the Boss" in there. It's stiff, and not just in the cases where it should be stiff about Alli. It's also bland, I'm trying to get his life to feel monotonous, but it needs contrast to draw that out. Something to make it read as exciting so that his montonous slog reads clearer against it, as opposed to just reading like the writing is monotonous. I'll stop rambling now, curious to see what others think. Particularly as I'm always bad about sharing work with others. -
Idle Cook Club - Veggie Feeds-me: My Body Is Ready

In Ireland I think that might just be McDonalds? I encourage people to not be stuck by the rules because of circumstance. Take the theme and use it to motivate you for something new/unusual. The main idea (as I understand it) is to take food that's low-quality/unhealthy/mass produced, and make your own single dish where you try to make it a good healthy meal for yourself. A cheap shitty chinese dish makes sense for that. Bear in mind that for me and dibs Taco Bell doesn't exist here, and other people might have less chains in their country. -
In particular it's specifically an NX launch title, and will launch at the same time for Wii U and NX.

I really like the art style, it's got a great look. Some edges look rough, and the over bloomed effect takes away from it sometimes. But I'd hope that looks better both in motion and when you're playing it so long you get acclimatised.

Idle Cook Club - Veggie Feeds-me: My Body Is Ready

My intention is just to replicate it without the meat. Like a Big Mac Bean Burger.... or something more appealing. -
Oh yes! The only name I remember is Duckberg. Maybe I should re-listen to catch myself up for the new series.

Idle Fiction Jam - Rumours and Hearsay

I'm writing up a draft, I'll likely post it here later. My biggest issue with writing is not knowing whether something will come across as completely disingenuous. I have a generally detached relationship with media, and I worry that it's either making me write in a detached way that's offputting to people, or that when I read my own work I end up feeling detached and assume everyone would read it as flat and dull. So I'm trying to ignore that and write a full draft to figure out where to go from there. -
He'll be called dat boi

Yeah I meant that setting, I just couldn't remember if the world had a name or anything.

That finale was top notch. I wasn't sure how it would go, and I really questioned multiple sections of this season but it really came together so well I love the whole arc of the story. I think season 3 might be returning to Dungeon World, but I'm not sure. They haven't made any specific declarations about it, but Counter/WEIGHT was originally intended to be an interlude.

Idle Thumbs 266: Memeify McCree
SuperBiasedMan replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
TF2 competitive was always vaguely talked about but it only officially exists now, even though it unofficially existed for years. I think it's less that Valve didn't care about the competitive aspects and more it doesn't seem like they actively care about TF2 that much. Not to say they don't care, but the game is more of a wacky experiment hotbed where they try stuff out and see what sticks. -

I have a word cloud that's extended into some scattered notes. Trying to nail down which ones of my divergent ideas I want to use and how I can fold different thoughts in on each other. -
[Released] Cruisin' for a Word that Rhymes With Cruisin'
SuperBiasedMan replied to brendonsmall's topic in Wizard Jam 3 Archive
This was such a solid game. I was playing them with my better half and this one was definitely her favourite. It has good layers of different goals and ways of messing about in the city. I wish we'd found more audiotapes, but there was so much shit to do, including sweet jumps for no reason. Finding the quarter pipes at the edge of the level was a wonderful reveal too. [Release] You Gotta Have Spice
SuperBiasedMan replied to FutureTuesday's topic in Wizard Jam 3 Archive
I really liked the look of this. The orange wastes with the standout poop spice models made for some good vistas. I enjoyed how tempted I was to get eaten by the worm. Twice. Unfortunately I failed my Lord Breckon. If you want to see the stream of me playing the game, it's here, and all the games are timecoded in the description: -
Great walking sim, but it's a shame I suck at adventure games. I had fun looking at what was there, but I didn't manage to figure out how to open the letter or the present. Someone in chat was suggesting I take the tape but I couldn't manage to do that either so I'm sure I was missing something obvious. The moment with the boos was perfect. I knew they were in the game, but it didn't occur to me in that moment. Sorry I didn't give your game a full real test, but we had fun with what we found. [Release] Computer Processing Unit
SuperBiasedMan replied to Barbara's topic in Wizard Jam 3 Archive
I played this on a stream and contrary to other people here my experience was pretty smooth. I figured out the first set of puzzles with the path without too much trouble, then was able to discern the pattern of the colour grids pretty well. I liked the one full of numbers where I was expecting some full on Sudoku stuff then found the actual solution. Off stream, I wanna play through the rest of the puzzles now that I don't feel the need to move onto new games. I particularly want to crack the puzzle of how to fill a cup with coffee. Also the animation of the laptops rising was real nice, a great touch. We said it on the stream, but it'd be nice in the puzzles to have some audiovisual feedback. Even if it wasn't indicating correctness, it'd make for a juicier experience than a flat puzzle with just the basic interactions. If you want to see the stream of me playing the game, it's here, and all the games are timecoded in the description: -
Dot Gobbler oozes such style (among other things). I was caught off guard by the music, but it was great. Added a lot to the weirdness of the experience. I liked how the levels sorta built out from each other by moving the barriers. And Dot Gobbler's drug fueled rampage against the ghosts was satisfying.

[Release] Suddenly the King of France
SuperBiasedMan replied to RubixsQube's topic in Wizard Jam 3 Archive
The King of France lived up to my expectations. I got audibly frustrated with the guests crowding around me. I like that even when the King has eclipsed you, you haven't quite hit the Game Over trigger. I also thought the hard cuts from level to interval/game over were a super great contrast. If you want to see the stream of me playing the game, it's here, and all the games are timecoded in the description: -
I was blown away pleased with this game! I liked the look of it, and it was pretty tough. I didn't even get close enough to see the flag because of how quickly it punishes when you're caught out. The handling was a bit rough though, made me just miss jumps more than a few times. Then again, maybe a robot ought to be stiff. I played this on a stream and it was a really nice chill time. I did so terribly that I didn't realise A) How large it was, and That there was an actual paradise to find. Really nice to drive around in though, and looks great! If you want to see the stream, it's here, and games are timecoded in the description:
