  1. Ah yes, the coveted Gex property. Perhaps Naughty Dog should follow suit and resurrect their 3DO property, Way of the Warrior.
  2. Twitch streams

Here we go again! Picking up right after Ravenholm. http://www.twitch.tv/architekture
  3. Twitch streams

Goin' live again with some more Half-Life 2. Starting around Route Kanal, probably will play until at least the Highway section.
  4. Twitch streams

I'm gonna give this streaming thing a shot. I'll be playin' Half-Life 2. If you drop by, let me know if I'm having issues with my audio--it seems to be looping. http://www.twitch.tv/architekture
  5. The Multi-Use Kickstarter Thread

Have a goofy Kickstarter you want to share but don't think it warrants its own thread? Post it here. Let's start things off with Super Babies: World of Trouble.

  7. Project Godus: Don't believe his lies

But the kid doesn't care. And it's not a breach of contract--the article says, "While Bryan is unable to discuss the terms of the deal, Eurogamer understands he was promised a royalty of one per cent of revenue from Godus for the period of his role as God of Gods." Molyneux always under-delivers, but his unfailing optimism for what games can be is much better than listening to a disinterested Activision rep prattle on about Call of Duty's best-in-class anything.
  8. Really though, I just wanted to discuss Zynga's continued slide into irrelevance. Their stock has tanked, and at least one outside analyst has recommended sacking Don Mattrick. I always assumed Mattrick was forced to resign his position with Microsoft, even if they said otherwise publicly. .
  9. I've definitely heard this floating around. Something about failing devs on milestones, requiring them to lengthen development, only for Zenimax to swoop in and purchase the devs outright. Ah yes, it had to do with some dust-up over the cancellation of Prey 2. Jason Blair, a writer at Volition, aired some grievances about Bethesda during his tenure at Human Head on Twitter. This was followed up by another post alleging Bethesda's predatory business practices with contracted devs. These claims, while not entirely verified, were lent some credibility when Kotaku editor Jason Schreier said that the scathing post "echoes things I've heard a few times before, and things I'd already been doing reporting work on. I can also tell you that those claims are exceptionally difficult to prove, and that the gaming press should certainly not be reporting accusations like that without significant evidence." Two months later, Schreier went on to later confirm that Bethesda and Arkane had outright lied about Prey 2's developmental switcheroo. Obviously it's hard to suss out the full story, but a lot of the evidence points to Zenimax being fairly nasty in its backroom dealings.
  10. The Multi-Use Kickstarter Thread

It's a function of the mostly-useless forum search. Finding the correct Far Cry 2 thread a couple weeks back was absolute torture.
  11. There is no malaria vaccine, folks.
  12. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

It isn't possible without modding the game, I don't think. I was playing it last night and realized I wasn't having any fun and just turned it off, right-clicked and deleted those local files. Felt good.
  13. Job Hunting

But then you have to live in Tucson. Though the cost of living, Mexican food and pizza are all pretty fantastic in Southern Arizona. I've been shooting out resumes like candy and not having much luck. Boo to job hunts.
  14. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

He isn't responsible for the latest one; it's just coincidence that he was arrested the same week. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2015/02/alleged-swatting-prankster-famed-god-arrested-in-las-vegas/
  15. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Finally uninstalled Far Cry 3. Fuck that game.
  16. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Where do we talk about the ugly trend of SWATing? Is it this thread?
  17. Intoxicated:

Home from the gym, so let's throw back some Belgian-style tripels!
  18. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

I realize a lot of the supporters have unchecked mental disorders, but this just seems like it's being played up for yucks. Some sort of extreme post-modern performance art piece on Youtube. It just seems impossible that somebody would be stupid enough to cop to "street racing" in a Prius on an icy road publicly. I don't know.
  19. I Had A Random Thought...

The newer usage of the word like actually serves a purpose that no other word in the English language can. It's a way to approximate a qualitative or quantitative statement while still hedging your bets. "There were like 30 people there" is more concise than saying "I believe there were approximately 30 people there, but I can't be sure."
  20. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Is that "real"? It can't be, can it?
  21. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

    What am I looking at?
  22. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Maybe it's just me, but I think the..."artistic license" these Dick Wolves have taken trivialize the actual harassment being perpetrated by basement-dwelling creeps. I mean, the Sarkeesian stand-in saying she doesn't want a law enforcement presence is far different than cancelling a talk because the police can't violate state gun laws. I just...man, I don't know.
