  1. Where to Find Game Assets (Audio/Textures/Models/Etc)

https://openclipart.org/ has been repeatedly useful for me.
  2. You should make a game about being sad.
  3. Oh my gosh you guys I'm so hype for this.
  4. I had to replace the cooling system on my graphics card after the stock fan started making a lot of noise. It was pretty easy to do and now if I'm so inclined I can overclock it like a cool guy. Sticking more case fans in your computer is also super easy to do.
  5. Why would you point something like that out, aaauuugh.
  6. Audacity's noise removal goes a long way, make sure you test record at the volume you think you'll speak when screaming at other nerds about anime. It's easy to make a quiet voice loud, what you need to watch out for is peaks and pops.

  8. Oooooooooooo nice banner.
  9. Life

Lincoln Park zoo was a highlight of my Chicago trip. Headquarters and Emporium are two barcades I enjoyed very much. Pizza.
  10. Cities: Skylines

Yeah it seems more and more to me that this game is a road drawing sandbox, which is pleasing in its own right, but most of my cities problems are coming from my negligence more so than poor decision making.
  11. I do really dig how unassuming the G9x looks, I mean it looks like a computer mouse, and thats about it.
  12. Cities: Skylines

Yeah I started getting big cpu lag spikes around a 7,000 person population, they are spikes though, so not game ruining.
  13. Wizaaaaaards!!

  14. Other podcasts

Nice! I just started listening to your cast, and it's super great. I really dig when a video game podcast comes from an angle that differs from "white dudes who are into games".
  15. Oh hey, yeah, if we're doing that you can grab the source of First Person Soar which will probably be pretty messy, and have a few hitches opening in to Unity 5, but it does successfully implement the controller middleware called InControl, so that's a thing!

This is a really great idea. I've used mayo to bread chicken drumsticks before, but would have never thought to use it on a grilled cheese. Every year for christmas my mum gives me a stack of cans of smoked flaked salmon. Mixing it with mayo makes the best ever "tuna salad" sandwich.

Ya'll need to learn some sauce love. The sauce ignorance and intolerance in this thread is disgusting.

I need that creamy flavour. Mayo is goooooooooood.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was doing a lot of copy-pasting text to get everything set up.
  20. The puzzle game is one of those gotcha! genres in game dev. From the outset you're dealing with a "simple" game right, as you yourself can easily internalize what it means to match 3 say, but when you go to actually implement it you realize that writing code for it is complex because of its nature as such a raw representation of rules. I think platformers are a similar gotcha! because so many of the earliest games (Mario) are platformers, but if you were to code one from scratch you realize there are a lot of components involved. These are both lessons I learned the hard way. Choosing the right engine can help with any genre though.
  21. It's probably safe to assume she wouldn't have talked about it on the podcast if she had any fears of repercussions.
  22. Screenshots. Shots of your screen.

Supposedly the mouse and keyboard controls are garbage so you'll want a controller. It's pretty bad in terms of the graphical options it allows, but you can potentially mod it or change the .ini around to get a little more out of it, out of the box it is pretty last-gen looking. But my time with it has been seamless, and it's mechanically a pretty good game, and clearly has style coming out its butt. It gets a from me.
  23. Screenshots. Shots of your screen.

Yeah, it is definitely living up to the promise of it being a hidden gem.
