Yeah, Troll is ok on his own as a carry, but run him as a 2 position with a hard hitting right clicker as your 1 and his ult is SO GOOD. Also fun to throw him into a pushing lineup. Give him a Lycan or Aghs Tiny to buff up and watch as towers go down all over the damn place.

If anyone is interested in Pinball junk, Pinball Arcade is having a (secret?) sale where you can get three tables for one single goddamn cent. The game is free to download and then you can get the pack of Black Hole, Ripley's Believe it or Not, and Theater of Magic from inside the game in the Season One tables. It uses fund from your steam wallet too, so you don't even need to enter card info. It says it includes Tales of the Arabian Nights, but everyone gets that one for free anyway. This is the one that emulates existing, real pinball machines and it's super cool. They have some prime shit in there, including the fucking TERMINATOR 2 TABLE! but those aren't really on a great sale or anything. The otherPinball game is fun with a bunch of flashy licensed tables that are of their own design. Both are pretty cool though. But yeah, you can sell a card you got from some game and buy the four table pack, it's cool!

Garry from Garry's mod is making Rust? And also is a huge tool? Weird. Now I know to not buy that game and make fun of him for being a nerd at least... :/ Nice to see more gaming sites come out as not shitheads, too.

Really surprised Danielle didn't bring up Yoshi's Woolly World along with Kirby. The graphics in both of those fucking floored me. Look at the Yoshi stuff, it's fucking GORGEOUS. Something about looking like a physical toy you might play with just charms my socks off.

I am totally down to play with scrubs. I'm not great but I've been playing for a while and sort of know what's up. I've not had any luck queuing with the the thumbs channels, but if you do, just be sure to mention that you are new and people OUGHT to be chill (or else they just won't queue with you).

I'm looking to snag some fighters when they go on sale. Mostly Street Fighter and maybe King of Fighters. Probably Injustice and Mortal Kombat even though I realllllly don't like the 13 year old's notebook sketches aesthetics of them, but my friends play them a lot because they are easier than SF. Other games I want for <$10 Dishonoured, Xcom ( really wish it had the DLC in it though), and I'm not sure what else. I think I'll drop like $30 into steam this weekend and have that be my absolute hard limit. First big sale since I got a real computer. I'm scared.

So many people ignore shrapnel! I don't play a lot of sniper but I don't see why you'd prioritize headshot over shrapnel once you have a single point in headshot. the only thing that increases is the damage per proc, and not even by a lot. Seems like leveling shrapnel and just dropping it on towers would be hard to deal with. much more so than the +15 dmg per headshot proc or whatever it is per level.

I always thought Leigh seemed pretty cool. I don't really like her writing but I follow her on twitter and like her enough.

This is me. I did get it on Lone Druid the other day though. Half the time I forget to use items that I already have in my inventory until i'm dead anyway.

Lycan is actually way better in lane. His lvl 1 wolves are made of tissue paper now so he has to take the brunt of jungle creeps damage, but they make last hitting/harassing a breeze in lane. Also, you can get a lot more out of a lane than the jungle. Generally if you're a right clicky guy and there's a lane open you should go there to get farm. The thing about most lords that people take into the jungle because they have lifesteal is that sure, they CAN do it but if the enemy team is even remotely aware of the game they should drop a ward in the jungle and gank the heck out of you. Granted, I realize this mostly doesn't happen in regular matches unless you're pretty high up in the ranks, but that's the theory. Mostly you can just do whatever will get you the win.

In what you're describing it sounds like the team voting to concede gets a big push of their own creeps towards the enemy (winning team) ancient? That sounds like it would seriously change the balance around and could be cheesed and result in a lot of wins that should really have been losses. Also, damn does this game get into me. I want more time to play Dota. There are SO MANY guys I want to git gud with.

That would absolutely not work. I think a nice alternative could come in the form of custom game modes though. For when you want to play around with dota stuff but don't want to commit to a full game. Then you can add in goofy/fun stuff like this to your hearts content. The actual game of Dota probably couldn't handle such a nutso mechanic being added like that. It's a very finely balanced thing as it is.

The ground textures in that first screenshot remind me of LoL. Also 3DS games always look like shit in screenshots. Excited to hear more about, but also I want Metroid or F-Zero. Hmph.

Jakiro is a great time. Ice path is a HUGE aoe stun that stuns people when they walk into it, so it's very forgiving. Such a good feeling closing off an escape route and liquid fire is really great now that you can manually cast it. It even has a longer range than your autoattack. Great for harrassing in lane and for pushing towers. Plus he combos so well with a lot of other guys. He was one of the first dudes I felt pretty ok with.

This discussion is bad. Who do you all play when you want to win AND have fun? Clockwork is my boy. Throw him solo off, hit 6, kill scrubs. Hookshot is a lot of fun and you can do some really cool shit with cogs. Flare is kinda boring, but it's always fun when you steal a kill from across the map, or snag a guy retreating to the fountatin. Battery assault is hilarious, especially against lords with long cast animations. Love that bucket of bolts.

I think Metroid Prime is the Citizen Kane of Greatest video games. Not really.

You can eat an abandon every once in a while without being shitqueued. Also, if your entire team disconnects at the same time the game will end before anyone gets an abandon.

The Adventure Time games are apparently not that good. I played the first one (the Zelda 2-ish one) and didn't like it and supposedly the second was worse. I've heard that Project X Zone and Hometown story were also not that great. X Zone apparently gets to be a HUGE slog before it's over, and Hometown story sounds like not my kind of game at all. Couldn't tell you about the other ones really, but In my old age I'd suggest you shy away from getting something that is either bad or meh just because it's on sale. Do you have pushmo/crashmo?

To dive head fucking first into this gross, wormy can, The surrender function in LoL was used a LOT back when I played a few years ago. You could surrender at like 20 minutes and it seemed like someone almost always tried it every game. It really just sucks for both teams, removes most possibilities of fun comebacks and isn't fun to win against and blows when you don't want to give up. It sucked even to see the vote pop up. I'm really glad valve isn't adding a forfeit feature. It's kind of different because LoL has a much more steady power curve than dota and it is really snowball-y, so there are less comebacks in general. But yeah, if you're playing a carry and the pudge calls for a ff because it's ten minutes in and he died a couple times it would be awful. one guy with a lot of farm can easily swing the match.

Hey! I was a heavy AVC commenter until a few months ago-ish too! Well, I was mostly on Gameological at the end. I still post on The Dissolve all the damn time though. I like the comments there, though some commenters get on my nerves, I like most of them a lot.
