Is it happening? By the way, I like Phil Spencer. He seems like a guy that actually cares about games, instead of being just the regular CEOs that we often see.

I honestly had no interest in Tropical Freeze watching its video reviews. But then I watched playthrougs without any commentary and got the charm of it - the soundtrack is essential to the overall feel of the game, I guess, so fucking beautiful.

Wat?!! That's insane! It seems God is really fond of those Mario levels and punished you for this weird blasphemy. I hope you get well soon!

Some heartless jackass makes a fake Majora's Mask HD trailer because he hates me, specifically

Looks really good visually. Specially when you compare to the original, like this video does: I like how the remake mantains the same aesthetics but improves a lot on it, so while it does look "old" graphically, it doesn't look bad at all. -
This model is freaking gorgeous, if I was going to buy a new 3DS this would be one I'd chose.

I didn't, 60 lives wasted and no success. I play on trying again though, it feels possible, just incredibly hard. It's a stage I. Which you really have to plan things and memorize how things works, because one mistake and that's it. I feel encouraged to finish it because mastering 3d world was the best thing about it, it was really rewarding when you visit past stages and you realize how better at the game you become. I feel that finishing champions world would be a closure to this "learning process".

Good to know, will skip the generic controllers. I just decided to wait a bit before buying the wiimote, I'm not in a big hurry to play another Mario game, affter playing 3D World and 3D Land. Specially after getting my ass kicked so many times at Champion's Road - I feel your pain Griddlelol. I just realized that I'd spend far less money just buying one Wii U game, and I was able to find a really good deal on Zelda Wind Waker HD. Next month I'll buy those controllers.
-
I'm looking for those wiimotes, and then there are these ones with Motionplus that are way more expensive than the usual ones. Should I get one of those or the cheap ones are good for everything? If I end up needing one with Motionplus, I'll probably just buy it used, new ones are crazy expensive. Yeah, it's kinda silly, maybe they could just adapt the controls to the gamepad, using the touchscreen for the shooting star mechanic. But I'm not so bummed about it, always knew that I'd need to buy a wiimote to play Wii games.

Hahahaha. My opinion is purely based on Majora's Mask being a "darker" and weirder game, I think I will enjoy it more. But I never played any, so I know nothing of this.
-
I wish I lived in the US. So cheap there. Here in Brazil is about $50 and higher.

So Majora's Mask 3D comes on February? Didn't expect it so soon. I was going to buy Ocarina of Time first, but I think I'll just wait, MM seems to be a better game.
-
I think I'll get this one, never played any Wii game, might be a good start. I need a Wiimote and nunchuck to play it though, right? Looking forward to the Metroid Prime trilogy deal as well, always wanted to play those.

This Xenoblade Chronicles X trailer is totally bonkers. Seriously, despite the not so pretty character models, animations and textures, this impresses me way way more than most of the "next-gen", those landscapes are fantastic:

There's a new direct tomorrow. Here's hoping for some Star Fox footage. None was released and the game is supposedly coming this year, right? I really want a new and good star fox, was probably my favorite N64 game - even though I never actually owned one, just played a lot at my friend's house.

I watched The Babadook today, liked that it was a grounded, depressing psychological horror film, however didn't share the excitement critics had with the movie. It was ok. I feel dumb not getting why the movie is that great, I feel like I'm missing a lot of stuff.

Not that this will interest most of you here, but Nintendo just announces that they will officially stop selling their games here, because mostly of taxes. That's pretty lame for me, I just bought the Wii U. Fuck the taxes over here, it's just so silly. I guess arcades where considered some kind of degenerated form of entertainment back then, and then they put these crazy taxes on them, and applied the same rule to consoles. The taxes for consoles are higher than the ones for guns, for example. At least there's the eShop (I have a Canadian account) and the grey market, but in some retailers you could find some really good deals on Nintendo games.

The levels have signs which indicate the pieces in it, and they are marked/crossed when you get the pieces, so you can see if you already got all the sigils. To be honest, I didn't have any problem with the levels, never got lost or couldn't find where to go. I finished the game last week and it was pretty amazing, one of the best of 2014 really - probably my favorite PC title of the year. The puzzles were smart and only some of them were a but frustrating for me, I guess I'm not really that good with "puzzlers", had to look for walkthrough on some of later levels. What got me into the game though was it's story, it always felt so mysterious and writing is fantastic, I felt so connected with the Alexandra character, her visions about the main subject of the game sounded pretty honest and smart, I share some of the fears and insecurity that she has. The game kinda left me depressed a little bit, existentialist stuff can do that to me. But it was pretty good, it's definitely great to see games talking about those subjects. However, I think the game could be way shorter. I finished it in about 21-22 hours, by the end I was already tired. Also disliked the final puzzles to unlock the doors/floors, I'm really not that great at solving those, I just gave up at a certain point and looked at the solution in a walkthrough, in my opinion it wasn't needed to have this kind of puzzle when your game mechanic already is to solve puzzles.

Will I enjoy this game if I only played Persona 4? It's weird that, while Persona 4 is one of my favorite games of all times, I just couldn't get into Persona 3. It felt lacking when compared to Persona 4, I think the character conversations were more shallow, I wasn't really knowing their personalities and stuff. Anyway, right now I'm playing SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked and it seems like a pretty good game, with interesting characters. I think those kind of Japanese games with teenage characters are really my guilty pleasure, I'm just enjoying it way more than I initially thought.

I think I was really bad with my choice of words, I was actually meaning a real account system that let you buy stuff and download it on different devices, that's a necessary thing to make cross-buy possible. You're right about cross-buy, it isn't a basic feature, even though it's pretty nice and a common thing among mobile stuff I believe.Well, I did buy Shovel Knight, but on the 3DS, and totally recommend it! It's not only good because it's a nostalgic game - I even never owned a NES -, it's really well made in a lot of areas, especially on it's challenge and ability to create a good sense of joy on discovering things on it's simple and charming world. Great game.
-
Yep, should figure that. Sometimes I forget that Nintendo hasn't implemented some basic features like these.
-
Is it cross-buy?Edit: googled it and nope. Shame. I'll buy it for the 3ds then, need a new game to play while I'm at my girlfriend's house.

This sale I got oly Metal Gear Ground Zeroes, Max Payne and Transistor. No serious harm done to the wallet. Transistor I got based on the recommendation of Bjorn in the GotY thread and yep, it's pretty good and way better than Bastion when it comes to gameplay. The visuals are crazy gorgerous as well. Best bought of this sale so far, totally worth it.

It's here guys, finally! This is the year the cell will show it's final form. I can't wait to go to my house and turn on my PS3 to see what it happens. I bet it will turn into a cat-bird robot and boom, you will be The (blown away) Last Guardian. This is the year.

How spider heavy is this game? Are the encounters predictable in the main story or random? I'm a bit interested in the game, but the spiders are a nope for me. However, if I can predict where they are with a guide/walkthrough, I think I can handle all the stress.

Well, this releases in some hours on Steam. I honestly can't wait to try it, never expected to see metal gear on PC. To be fair, I only played MGS2 and 3 HD on PS3 (only finished 2 though), but didn't really enjoy any of those because of outdated gameplay. It just didn't seemed right the way it played, very clunky aiming, movement and hiding, weird camera angles. However, the videos from Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain just seem too good, I think they probably updated the game to more modern standards now.
