  1. PL4YST4TION 4

It seems The Order is not worthy of a pre-order, or even a order at full price. Shame, the guys at Ready at Dawn seem genuinely cool, I kinda wanted the game to success, but it never really impressed me aside the visuals. Changing the subject, I'll buy a PS4 this year, just don't know when. Right now, I can in Brazil for about 560 dollars, with 3 years of warranty with the store. But this year I'm going to Miami for vacation, so I can buy there for 399, but no warranty at all here in Brazil. So, do you guys think it's worthy to pay $160 more just to have a warranty? I'm not aware about the PS4 realiability to be honest.
  2. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

It was a great deal, damn. The Wii U is great indeed. Talking about great things, I've been playing Zelda Wind Waker HD the last couple of weeks. The game is pretty good, it's crazy how the graphics looks so good with so few polygons, I guess the arrstyle makes it age much better. However, I've had some annoyances with the game itself. It's a great game, but some of the puzzles and the exploration are weird sometimes. For example, I couldn't possible realize that you need to talk with fishes to discover how to enter the dungeons. When the dragon boat told me that I needed to talk with the ones that lived in the sea nearby, it never came to me that he was talking about fish. I mean, I never spoke to a fish before. But I never spoke to a boat before as well, so maybe I'm the one who's wrong. But the game surprises me with intuitive some of the puzzles are, but I couldn't realize the solution on my own just because video games usually have some weird logic. For example, there's a place that you access by cutting a rope. It's so simple and logic, but in other games I usually need a special item, a specially fragile looking rope or something that indicates that I can do this. This is my first 3D Zelda Game, so there's a lot of new stuff to me. I can see now why Zelda is so big, it inspires a lot of other games, like God of War, which was always one of my favorites. Overall, you can clearly see that the game is old by some mechanics, but it still is pretty good.
  3. Zunless Zee (Sunless Sea)

Thanks for the tips. I want to try this out again after finishing some games of my backlog. Your discussions about the game are interesting, must be a good game, I just need to learn how to play it.
  4. Zunless Zee (Sunless Sea)

Played a couple of hours of it Sunday. I totally suck at this game. I appreciate any advise on how to get echoes to make things possible in this game. I only went to some places near Fallen London that haven't got me enough money to spend on fuel and supplies.
  5. Zunless Zee (Sunless Sea)

It got 10/10 on Eurogamer. The review and the steam impressions made me buy it, it just seems very unique to not even give it a chance. Hope I won't be disappointed.
  6. Persona 5 Trailer with gameplay scenes OMG THIS THE YEAR OF THE PS3 INDEED!!!!!! GIMME GIMME GIMME AWWHHHHH! I NEED THIS!
  7. Movie/TV recommendations

Last weekend I saw The Interview and really liked. Stupid movie, completely stupid, but pretty funny. Best James Franco comedic performance in my opinion. Also watched The Kid with a Bike, loved it. It's a small fable involving a kid, a bike, his terrible father and a really nice woman. Well, I don't know what to say without being spoilery, besides that it's a more grounded story, without many cathartic moments, but it resonates with you after the credits. Now I'm planning to watch All is Lost. I never had any really interest watching it, but last night I was sleepless and saw it on Netflix, so why not. But I got really interested and it wasn't helping me sleeping at all, so I just stopped to watch it at a better hour. Got hyped with it, loved that the film is just a silent Robert Redford trying to survive at the sea.
  8. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Thanks for Pepe Deluxe guys. Seriously. I've been lazy with new music the past couple of years, couldn't find any good way to discover new artists. Some of my favorite blogs stopped updating and the alternatives, like Alarm Magazine, were just alright, didn't matched my interests that much. Guess I'll just hang around this thread to see new stuff By the way, I should been sleeping right now, but I couldn't stop listening to this: I love Sheena Ringo and spent the last hour listening her stuff on YouTube. It's J-Pop, but good J-Pop (to be fair, never listened to J-Pop aside of her, but I believe it's hard to be much better). So good.
  9. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Thanks for the info. I guess most of my 3DS purchases gave me some points, I remember that I registered only a couple of months after I bought it, because of the free Pokemon deal. Now I just have to wait the site to goes back online to see how many points I have, hopefully enough for The Wondeful 101.
  10. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Do I get any points by registering the Wii U? I don't have any idea of how many points I have. Besides a couple of games for the 3DS and Bayonetta 2, all my games were purchased on the eShop. Do I get any points on those?
  11. wii-U or Xbox one, for my um 5 year old

Yeah, this is an important thing to consider. Splitscreen multiplayer is pratically dead on non-nintendo games. I think the Wii U is a better option if you want to sit and play with your daughter, the games are appealing to all ages and there are better options for local multiplayer.
  12. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

I had the same problems with jumping in this game as well, and I also didn't had much trouble in 3D Land. However, things just started to work in 3D World, specially after the bonus stages. When I completed all the bonus stages and decided to go back to get all the stars, all the levels were so freaking easy, it was so satisfying to see that I was mastering the game naturally by just playing it. This was the main reason why I kept wanting to get all the stars, it wasn't a hurdle at all. So I suggest you to just keep playing, it will get better.
  13. I disliked Remember Me as well. The combat was unremarkable and it was disappointing to see that the rewind mechanic wasn't as prevalent as it seemed. But maybe I'll go back to it someday, loved the aesthetics.
  14. Played about one hour as well, agree with pretty much what Gwardinen said. But I'm really enjoying this way more than I thought I would, it's pretty charming. The visuals are great, love the chromatic aberration, maybe it's a bit overused, but overall it gives a filmic/filter look that makes sense in a game set in a photography school. The story is nice, I'm enjoying the characters, but the dialogue could be a bit better - the devs aren't native English speakers, as far as I know, so it's forgivable. The setting is great, love that the game is more grounded (despite, of course, the rewind machine mechanic), at least until the point I played. Anyway, I'm really liking this so far, I think it's at least worth trying if there's anyone interested.
  15. It's out now (the first episode)! It's getting some good reviews. Decided to buy it mostly because of the setting and characters, it's a bit unusual in games. I'll come back with impressions later.
  16. wii-U or Xbox one, for my um 5 year old

When it comes to gaming for kids, Nintendo definitely is the best answer, but Xbox One with Minecraft won't be a bad deal at all. Kids love Minecraft. I went to a Minecraft themed birthday a couple of months ago, a 7 year old boy, they had Creeper gums and all the stuff, I was amazed to see what Minecraft has become, the thing is huge among kids. My 8 year old cousin only owns Minecraft with his Xbox 360 (besides that he only plays demos), and it is pretty much everything he plays 80% of the time, he just loves it. But the thing is that your daughter might not be into Minecraft that much, and then her options will be a bit narrower. You'll still have some games suited for children, like dancing and kinect games, but, besides that, it will be mostly Lego games and other licensed products, not really some original IP with the quality and effort that Nintendo usually dedicates, that's not the focus of the AAA market right now. Your wife asked about the Xbox, maybe she prefers it because of kinect. That's the case with my girlfriend, she just can't play games with a controller, she never owned a console so it's a bit complicated for her. Well, in the end I think you need to measure what your family interests are. I definitely think the Wii U is a better option for kids and the family as a whole, but maybe the Xbox One can better suit the preferences of your family.
  17. Where in the World - Idle Thumbs Map

I'm alone in Brazil! But I could swear there was another Brazilian in this forum, I just don't remember his/her username.
  18. Oculus rift

Yeah, I think I'll use it for some movies then, besides the demos. Will be interesting to see if I'll want a oculus rift or not - I know the rift it's so much better than the cardboard, but I don't have any idea of what a VR thingy actually is, it will be nice to have a taste spending so little.
  19. Oculus rift

For reasons unknown, I decided to order cheap lenses to build my own Google Cardboard VR (they don't sell the kit here in Brazil). Is there any good use for it besides the demos on play store?
  20. It seems the game doesn't have a proper widescreen mode, it just stretches the image. That won't prevent me from playing the game of course, specially because I didn't played it back then, but it surely is disappointing considering it is a "remaster".
  21. PL4YST4TION 4

Uncharted 4 is being written by Neil Druckmann, Josh Scherr and Tom Bissel. This is a real quality team. Bissel is a great writer, I think he has more room to do a great job with Uncharted than Gears of War.
  22. Idle Workouts

I've been working out the last months. There were improvements already, like some 3cm muscle gain in the arm, and I had really tiny arms, so this made a nice difference. I feel like getting bigger would be much better than I initially thought, but I just realized I'm really really bad at squatting. Like, I don't go down in a proper way, I can't even do it. A trainer at the gym teach me some exercises to improve this, like squatting with those "yoga" balls, without any weight, but I don't think I made much progress. She says that I have these issues probably because I spent my whole life just sitting and studying, and yep, pretty much just played video games all my life when I wasn't studying, so she's right. So, does anyone if it is possible to achieve good results without squatting? Or other exercises to get better at squatting?
  23. Hololens

I think it's interesting, but I hope they don't discard regular controllers and a more traditional concept of a screen when creating games for this. I think it can be really great for creating games with visual elements that take over your room, but I still think the image needs to be focused somewhere, and it still demands physical controllers because of the feedback. It would be nice if they hired Spike Jonze to actually make that cursing alien game he visualized for Her.
  24. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

It seems Donkey Kong Country Returns is up on eShop. So, should I buy the Wii or 3DS version? I assume the 3DS one might not be as cheap, but people make a huge deal about seemingly bad motion controls on the Wii version.
  25. PL4YST4TION 4

Yep, this is the first video of the game that actually is somewhat interesting. The other ones were just some really bad montages. The voice acting seems quite good, the story might be entertaining. Maybe I'll buy this game when I get my PS4 later in the year.
