I've thought more about my answer. Quit job, buy a villa somewhere in the Mediterranean region with a small farm. Have my staff grow lots of food. Cook everything from scratch while listening to audiobooks.

Quit job. Move out of shitty apartment. Travel.

Idle Cook Club - Veggie Feeds-me: My Body Is Ready

I feel like I have been making Lasagna wrong my whole life: Pastelón (Sweet Plantain “Lasagna”) INGREDIENTS 1 lbs ground beef 1 onion, minced 3 gloves garlic, minced 1 green pepper, minced ½ chopped cilantro 2 tsp adobo 2 tsp oregano 2 Tbs vinegar 1 envelope sazón 2 bay leaves 8 green stuffed olives, halved ½ cup raisins ¼ cup tomato sauce 4 plantains, peeled and sliced into strips 3 eggs 2 Tbs milk 2 cups white shredded cheese vegetable oil salt INSTRUCTIONS Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Butter square pan with 1 tbs of butter. Combine, beef, onion, pepper, garlic, cilantro, adobo, oregano, vinegar and sazon. Mix well. Heat a large skillet at medium-high heat with 2 Tbs of olive oil, add meat mixture. Cook beef until brown and of the juices bubble up, add bay leaves, olives, raisins and tomato sauce. Mix and let simmer for 10 minutes, set aside. Heat a large frying pan with vegetable oil, just enough to coat the bottom. Fry plantains for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden and slitely crispy. Drain on a plate with paper towel, set aside. To assemble pastelon: Take your prepared square pan, start with a layer of plantains, then beef, then a fistful of cheese, repeat. You want to finish with cheese and plantains. Beat 3 eggs with 2 Tbs of milk, pour over the pastelón. Let it sit for a minute allowing the egg to soak in. Top off with just a bit more cheese. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Eat like a pig, scarf it down, don't share with anyone http://thenoshery.com/pastelon-sweet-plaintain-lasagna/ -
New expansion announced! I am really glad the appear to be adding depth to the game as opposed to more map expansion. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2016/01/07/crusader-kings-ii-conclave-expansion-announced/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+rockpapershotgun%2Fsteam+%28Rock%2C+Paper%2C+Shotgun%3A+Steam+RSS%29

Its fun, there are some rather extensive event chains that can be used to simulate or diverge from the books. There seem to be some bugs with the white walkers never really being defeat-able but I might just be doing it wrong. I want to mess around with it more, perhaps crush Robert's Rebellion.

Idle Thumbs 244: Heroes vs Villains
Cordeos replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
My favorite fights in Bushido Blade were a few minutes of positioning followed by both characters attacking and dying. Never had a 'tie' in any other fighting game. Also in the campaign if you use non-honorable tactics you get a different and earlier ending to the game, which makes the fight with the guy carrying a gun really hard. -

If you do the zucchini i suggest cutting length wise as opposed to coins, much less work. -
This is one of the most delicious and pretty looking deserts I have ever made. It's surprisingly easy and can also be done with apples. http://www.sprinklebakes.com/2010/11/honeyed-pears-in-puff-pastry.html Honeyed Pears in Puff Pastry 4 small pears 1 sheet of ready made puff pastry dough, thawed 4 cups water 2 cups sugar 1 cup honey 1/2 lemon 1 vanilla bean, seeded with hull reserved 3 sticks of cinnamon 6-8 whole cloves Peel pears and core from the bottom. Cut the bottom of the pears strait across, so they will stand upright. Set aside. In a medium saucepan, combine the 4 cups water, 2 cups sugar and 1 cup honey. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. When the sugar has melted, add the pears, vanilla seeds and hull, 1/2 lemon, cinnamon and cloves. Simmer until the pears are fork tender. This can take 20-40 minutes, depending on the ripeness of your pears. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. When the pears are soft, remove them from the pot and allow them to cool slightly. Discard solid pieces from saucepan and reserve 1 1/2 cups of the poaching liquid. While pears are cooling, cut the puff pastry into 1/2" strips. One sheet of puff pastry will cover 4 small pears. Large pears will need a second sheet of puff pastry to compensate. Wrap cooled pears with puff pastry starting at the bottom and working upwards. When you come to the end of a pastry strip, brush it lightly with water and press to adhere to the next pastry strip. Continue wrapping until you reach the top of the pear. Tuck the end of the last pastry piece behind the previous dough spiral. Place wrapped pears on a parchment lined jelly roll pan and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until puff pastry is golden brown. Simmer the reserved poaching liquid over medium heat until thick and syrupy. Plate pears and top with syrup. *NOTE: Your favorite blend of spices can be used in this recipe - go crazy!

Skywind is a mod in development porting the entire game of Morrowind into Skyrim. A lot of the super broken magic systems are missing from Skyrim so theoretically it will be more balanced.

Just rewatched: It actually reminded me of things I liked about DS9. There is so much more complexity in the politics, federation society and story lines. I am re-watching it right now and am super excited to get to the later seasons. -
I think they gave those warnings before their office was flooded with facebook money.

I made this: https://food52.com/recipes/27789-vegetarian-lasagna Ended up being more work than I like given the finished product. I will probably keep the sauce recipe and the cheese quantities, but replace the zucchini and eggplant with mushrooms and spinach. the pattern I used was: Mozzarella Sauce Noodles Sauce Goat Cheese Eggplant Ricotta Noodles Sauce Goat Cheese Zucchini Ricotta Noodles Sauce -

Its probably a good idea to wait until both the Rift and Vive are out and reviewed. Thats my plan.

Just making it back to the sub before a kills you is a great feeling, and happens a lot. I am glad the devs are limiting weapons in the game too. Really keeps it dangerous and scary.

In the Pale Moonlight is my favorite Star Trek episode. Partially because of how awesome Garak is. -
I think my 2015 GOTY is Subnautica. Its an underwater survival game being made by the studio behind Natural Selection 2. I had heard nothing about the game and found it via the Steam discovery queue. I love the sense of weakness and loneliness that the game imparts. You are all alone on an alien world where there are many large predators that are stronger and faster than you. They built the inventory system to make resource gathering slower and make scarcity feel real. It takes a while to have enough lockers to actually store all the materials you can gather. The game is also really pretty, even before I got a new video card it was one of the best looking games I have played. I wish I had a VR headset because this game is perfect for VR. Technically the game isn't finished, but I have been enjoying playing the game with each new content release. I can't wait to see what the finished product is like.

To boil lasagna noodles just use a wide pot an do a few at a time, i stopped doing it and just making extra sauce, pretty much the same effect. I'm in for the weekly recipe thing, when will people be declaring their dish? Because I usually grocery shop on Saturday/Sunday so I would want to know what I'm making before then . -

Did you put much sauce and cheese on the top? I usually drown my lasagna to keep the noodles soft. -
I think I have finished Fallout 4. I got 100% of the achievements and don't have an urge to go back and do anything at the moment. I think it was an effective sequel, nothing revolutionary, but the gameplay and graphics improved enough that I don't think I will return to Fallout 3 or New Vegas to get the Bethesda RPG shooter itch. I wish there were more quests, but there has been a decline in quest quantity and complexity since Morrowind so its hardly shocking that they made a more detailed map with less to do in it. The biggest improvement in my mind is the modular weapon upgrade system. It makes random loot interesting and allows you to tune almost any gun to your play style. I also finished Just Cause 3. Although I am still poking at some of the achievements. The latest patch seems to have fixed the few performance issues I had previously encountered. Again its a very solid sequel, they have kept the core game the same and added several improvements and enhancements. The wingsuit is a great addition to the grappling hook and parachute for world traversal. Avalanche makes very pretty maps, and the grapple wingsuit parachute combo is by far the most fun way to travel in any open world game. They also improved the black market drop system so you can ask for multiple items at once without ever getting a cinematic. There were also little things like the map showing you that last little destructible structure preventing you from liberating a settlement or base. My biggest complaint is the challenges system, there are all sorts of cool upgrades locked behind some boring and annoying challenges. Luckily cheat engine exists. Next up Witcher 3.

The game seems to be running smoother for me since the patch. Also noticed less pop in so all around a good patch maybe?

The leader of my Krampus group made Gluhwein yesterday and won't share his recipe. I now have a winter booze project.
