Yeah I'm skipping dialogue too, and I feel like I don't have to use the time mechanic a lot - which I probably should. I ran through the most of one level as the sniper just taking out people before they even get to me. I still find it super fun though.

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Yeah, that one. I really enjoyed collecting everything though. While it could get frustrating, it was attainable and felt like I could do it. This level just feels like I'm smashing my head on a brick wall. -
That's cool. I'd quite like to give something like that a go. I just can't do exercise at home because I'm sure the people who live below me would flip if I was jumping about for 20 minutes. I would like to add cardio to my week, I still can't bring myself to run. On the bright side, I moved to a gym that's 5 mins from my work, so I go every week day morning. Progress is slow, but the weights are increasing. Sadly I'm not losing weight. If anything I've gained a couple of Kgs. I was chatting to a personal trainer there and she informed me of the basic idea of 80:20. Simply, weight loss is 80% Kitchen, 20% Gym. Which I guess is why I'm failing. Changing food habits is much harder than changing exercise habits.

Well put. I've always been a little embarrassed about playing games - it's not something I mention to people I meet unless they bring it up first. However, these past couple of weeks have made me really ashamed to be associated with such people. I find it baffling that people will go to such extremes, I don't see how they think it'll further their (admittedly stupid) cause.

It is called Super Hero workout. So maybe it's designed for super heroes. I'd like to try some sort of gamifying exercise app, but there's nothing out there that caters to what I'm interested in doing. Do the achievements/scores help you? I mean technically doing an extra rep, or hitting a personal best is basically the same thing, it just doesn't ping up on a screen when you do it.

ZombiU is pretty darn fun. I'd recommend getting it retail if you can though; I got mine for £5 on amazon - new.

Dare I say it? I think I've quit Super Mario 3d World. God damn it's a fantastic game, but I just cannot beat that final level (after the sandstone - pretty sure it's the last of the last levels). It's at the point where I'm so frustrated with it that I can't play when I'm tired after work because I get too angry too quickly. Really disappointed with myself for not beating it though - would have been the first Mario game I beat ever, but my platforming skills are just not good enough to deal with that last level. -
I gave Road not Taken a try too, but it didn't really click with me. I found the puzzles to be fairly entertaining but I totally agree with Jon. Why do I have to do this other crap to get to the puzzles? I just want to do the puzzles, with a cool art style that reminds me of Jawas from Star Wars. The puzzles weren't entertaining enough for me to keep pushing through. I feel like the game would be better for the xbone though - it's a decent game to play while watching a movie or TV. Being able to pin it to the side of my screen while I'm watching something would be super good. I didn't try cross play with it, but it'll probably be fun on the vita. When PS+ hits I have to remind myself to stay away from gaf. I don't get the hatred people have for indie games. It's just confusing.

I know for certain our dad hasn't spoken to her about sex etc. Her mother? No idea. She's quite immature for her age, so it still might not be the best time. The British school system normally teaches sex ed around 11 so she might have had exposure there. Although that was my first exposure, and I really wish it hadn't been. I was definitely not trying to act like her parent, if I spotted anything I was going to inform her mum/dad so they can have the conversation about it. I did try introducing her to good games. I gave her my Wii, along with SSB and Twilight Princess (which I never finished!) They didn't really get played though, I think either she was too young to be interested in them (must have been 8), or that mobile games grabbed her too hard. Dunno if this is the correct thread, but I tried talking to her about feminism. She said to me "women are meant to stay at home and cook and clean for their husband." Along with a bunch of examples of her friends' mums, and how it's supposed to be like that because (insert child logic here). She goes to a posh school, so I thought they'd try to instil stronger ambitions in her, but apparently it's the other way around. Not really sure about how to do this, I don't want anything heavy or deep, just put a few cracks into the idea that she's not allowed to have ambitions and is meant to stay at home and (essentially) serve a husband as a sort of bang maid.

I guess I'm not that far! There are certain missions that only allow a finite number of resets.

Good read, thanks for sharing. The rare times I see my baby sister, I check her internet history/text messages to see what she's up to (she's 11). Fortunately she's not doing anything gross, mostly just idiotic messages that a child would send to another child, so I'm happy that she's still relatively innocent. I don't really know whether doing that is a breach of trust, or whether I'm doing the right thing by checking - she wouldn't think to hide things from me because I'm the fun older brother, not the mum/dad who discipline her - so I feel like I should be taking that opportunity just in case. My brother who is about 6 has recently learned the word "gay" as a derogatory term. I know when I was about 13, I called everything gay and everyone a fag, but 6? Really? His understanding is "gay is man and man" whereas my understanding of "gay" was based on a sex ed class our school took. I don't really know how I feel about it, because I find it quite offensive when he uses it on something he dislikes, but then again, I did it albeit at a different age, and I certainly grew out of it when I understood how hurtful it could be to people. Thankfully neither of them watch "let's plays" which I too loathe. They both play all the crappy free mobile games they can get their hands on, and blow money on micro-transactions. Really disappointing that they've succumbed to some of the worst examples of "games" out there.

Yup, Nintendo have done good. Let's hope this sets the bar for all WiiU DLC.

Ubisoft needs to stop making the same game over and over again

I might be mistaken, but I was under the impression that the teams working on the Ubiart games you mentioned are the same as the ones working on the big titles. Pretty sure Child of Light was by the Far Cry team - which is crazy. -
Edit: I read something wrong.

Depends! If it's shaped like a Snickers, then it's pretty visually appealing. Also, Splinter Cell: Black List was a pretty decent game. Nothing amazing, but certainly no chocolate turd. -

I agree with kaputt, I've basically lost all interest in the main-line Ubisoft games, I'm sure it won't take forever before others feel the same and they stop selling the homogeneous design. How long that takes though, I have no clue. Can we just murder Rayman instead and promote one of the other characters? -
This is amazing news. Can't wait to grab these. Any news on the price? Edit: Apparently $8 each or $12 for both. Hopefully that means £4/£6 but I really doubt it. Even if it's £12, that's still fantastic value for money since this is essentially enough tracks for a new game.

Has anyone spotted a way to restart? I don't want to continue knowing I'm down a guy! There's no obvious "select mission" or "new game" when you boot it up though.

I just picked up the remasters on PS4. I bought it on the US PSN, so it's going to take a while to download. Really excited about these games, missed out on them the first time round.

I think I let a character die on the first level, not knowing he was there! Man I wanna play it now. I'm also disappointed nothing has been said about this for Vita. It'd be a perfect fit for Vita. Fairly certain STFU was intentional! Seems fitting with the sheer stupidity of the game.

I got this last night pretty much on a whim and had a ball playing the first two levels. I suck hard at it though! The mechanic is really neat, and when you see a bunch of your guys lined up shooting a boss, it feels fantastic, like you've solved the game fully. Funnily I found that the sniper, Aimy McKillin was the most useful for clearing the stages, especially when you get Rambois as a buff. Her sniper beam that passes through the stage lets you deal with things before they're a threat.

Pretty sure that's F2P mobile games though. Not sure if dudebros care about that.

I bought the dodge move and never understood how to use it. Parrying was plenty for me. I also didn't realise until the boss with the that you can charge up your attacks by holding down the button.

Do it! Fibre optic is just gravy.
