  1. Destiny

I've not even logged in to Destiny since the patch. I'll have to try some this weekend when I'm not playing the Witcher or Metroid. Are the new modes fun?
  2. Destiny

Wait, wait, wait... The new mode is a PvP thing? For some reason I thought it was a horde mode, no idea why. Urgh! I suck at Destiny PvP.
  3. Backlog Busters

My "completed" is do all the main caravan quests. I've actually taken a break from it because I hit a plateau, but I'm sure I'll be back in the near future.
  4. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Yup! That's how it worked for me. I'm starting to fall for this game now. Initially I was quite cool on it, it just felt like another open world WRPG like Skyrim or Dragon Age, but it's pretty different. The writing is straight up better than those, and I love how I'm not pursuing any end of the world bullshit. Just going around as a monster bounty hunter. The only thing I don't like now is the character designs. Geralt looks super dumb.
  5. Super Metroid Appreciation Station

I'm by no means saying it's a bad game. I just think Prime is a better version of...Prime.
  6. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Yeah I'm getting better at dodging. I'm still very squishy, but I can reliably dodge a lot of attacks. The parry still feels weird, but I don't feel I need it considering I can dodge. I'm also getting the hang of switching up magic and using the appropriate spell. They all feel pretty weak though except for the shield spell.
  7. Destiny

I rarely have my mic plugged in, but the psn messaging is so slow, that just joining a party, plugging in my mic and saying "I can't play" or "I can" is much more preferable to me.
  8. Destiny

I might be up for it this weekend. No work on Monday! I feel like as a group the problem is no one simply sends a message saying "wanna play?" if they see someone online. If anyone wants to run something, and I'm playing my PS4, send a message I'll probably say yes, even if I'm playing a different game.
  9. I Had A Random Thought...

That needs a NSFW warning. *shudder*
  10. Idle Food - Cooking!

Oh that sounds like a good idea. I basically planned to throw something in before I go to sleep, so I can take some to work the next day, and leave plenty for my partner to make lunch with. They all seem reasonably priced though. I'm excited. I've been looking at recipes all day.
  11. Idle Food - Cooking!

My favourite meal is a big slab of steak on my plate. It's just prohibitively expensive to eat more than once a month. Pulled pork on the other hand is the opposite, it just falls apart. I've resolved to buy a slow cooker. Something like this. Not too expensive, and I'd probably save a lot of money as I'd buy cheaper cuts of meat.
  12. I Had A Random Thought...

I used to get them all the time as a kid. Probably because I didn't sleep enough. Now I only get them when I'm seriously stressed, and yeah, they fucking suck. I used to salt them, but I think just leaving them to heal themselves is the best thing to do, along with loads of sleep.
  13. Maximum Axiom Verge Urge

    That sounds nauseating.
  14. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

So I picked this up last night because I have no self control. It seems pretty good, I suck at the combat. The block/parry doesn't work against monsters, and the dodging time is really off. Coming from Bloodborne, where you press dodge at the very last moment, it gives you i-frames and happens the moment you press the button, makes the Witcher's dodging feel sluggish. I just get wrecked by monsters because the dodge seems to take so long. It seems like a fun game, I just find the combat rather frustrating. Is there a "way to play" the combat?
  15. Idle Food - Cooking!

I've never used a slow cooker before. Are they heated up by gas, or do you just plug them in to the wall and run off electricity? I want to do slow cooking stuff, but I hate the idea of putting something in my oven for 8 hours (it's gas and I'm paranoid about burning the house down). Also doesn't it end up costing a shit load of money if you've just got something running for 8 hours straight? I basically just want to make pulled pork, because I love pulled pork.
  16. Maximum Axiom Verge Urge

I only played for about 2 hours and I didn't really notice any serious linearity. I always felt like I was exploring, and if I discovered a way to go, I'd progress down it. It usually meant there were multiple areas I left completely unexplored. Those areas might be dead ends or rooms with power ups, I don't know. I guess at least I have the illusion of non-linearity because of how I play the game. Compared to Metroid Fusion where it never felt anything other than linear because I was given the map, with a marker and told "go there, come back." Axiom Verge doesn't do that, it just expects the player to discover where to go next, akin to Super Metroid. Man I really want to play this, but I can't stand looking at blown up low res pixel art on my TV. I'll destroy the Vita version though. I plan to 100% that if I like it enough.
  17. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Really excited for this, I just can't justify the purchase with my current back log. It seems to be getting a lot of praise, but these kind of games always do. Tempted to wait to see if there's a backlash after more people actually play it. Dragon Age was similarly praised (although to a lesser extent) and I didn't really enjoy it as much as I expected I would. Plenty of people had the same feeling as me when I was reading about it weeks after release. Just worried about a bunch of fetch quests and tedious filler like DA:I.
  18. Super Metroid Appreciation Station

I'm playing Prime 2 at the moment and its surprisingly good. I'm no where near as enthused about it as Prime, but that's because it's a sequel. I don't like the ammo for alternate beams. I came really close to not having enough to open a door, and now I'm incredibly stingy with them. The world also feels less interconnected. I'm not sure if that's just because I've started (I have one temple down) but essentially if feels like Like you head to an area, then stay there until it's done. I kept back tracking through the world when I got stuck, thinking that maybe the path was that way, now I have a new piece of gear, but inevitably I had just over looked something where I was.
  19. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Done wth Hotline Miami 2. It's objectively worse than the original. Way too many cheap deaths, and loads of levels with long corridors. Occasionally Patrolling enemies add to the frustration too. Oh well, I wanted to like it, since I loved HM1.
  20. Backlog Busters

Games to complete WiiU 1) metroid echoes 2) corruption 3ds 1) monster hunter 2) kid Icarus Ps4 1) axiom verge 2) never alone 3) Ether one Vita 1) hotline Miami 2 2) danganronpa 3) the swapper GameCube 1) Twilight princess 2) resident evil 4 I'm doing OK currently. I've been giving up games that don't interest me except for a few. I quit xenoblade because I was making no progress and found it kind of difficult to motivate myself to play it just because I knew it'd be 100+ hours of something that I wasn't massively into. I'm also working on getting platinums which takes up a lot of time. Just got to make sure I hold off getting the Witcher for as long as possible. That'll halt my progress a lot. Currently playing metroid prime echoes. And I'm waiting for axiom verge to make its way to vita before I finish it.
  21. Destiny

I used to, but I fell out of the habit, despite it being fun. I don't think our schedules will match though.
  22. UK Thumbs

At least they're planning devolution in Manchester fairly soon. Maybe that'll curb some of the insanity.
  23. Divinity: Original Sin

Apparently this is now coming to PS4/XB1 later in the year. HYPE
  24. Destiny

Not sure if I can today. I'll make sure to ad you to my. Friends list though.
