Oooh don't get me started. It's also a direct cause of all sort of stuff.

I had a weird thing where I really liked DA:I while I was playing it, but when I finished I looked back and hated it. I think I was just starved for a good WRPG, having not played one in years, which blinded me to the utter blandness that is DA:I. It's hard. I got past a bit which I couldn't do then took a 2 week break. I should go back. It seems right up my alley. It was the first encounter with people before you get a gun. I want to do a no kill run on hard. Probably my fault.

Yeah the auto-aim can be annoying. I'm always disappointed with PvP because I want my Titan to be a melee god. I know it's an FPS, but I just wanna punch stuff.

As someone who doesn't earn a lot of money, 50% difference between a regular taxi and an uber makes the choice pretty easy. I'm uncomfortable with choosing a company based on their ethics, rather than the quality of their service/product.
-
I've heard that idea put forward multiple times in other forums, I didn't mean to attribute it to anyone here. Generally along the lines of "How can it be competitive if there's autoaim?" Without the obvious tactics are more than just aiming, shooting with a controller does take skill. Who am I arguing with? In the end I just like holding a controller. It feels way more natural.

Inferior controls in terms of accuracy, I agree. I straight up prefer using a controller though. You can still tell the difference between a good player and a bad player in console PvP. I know that if I haven't touched Destiny for a couple of weeks, I'll die instantly in PvP, but if I've been playing constantly, I get shit loads of kills.

Hunter rank 7. The real dark souls starts here. I got my bow set, it's fun!

I wouldn't take my opinion as gospel. I'm probably biased because I think the theme is shitty. I really don't think it's a game for me though. I'll probably push through for maybe another hour but if I'm still not excited for it I'll drop it.
-
I was S ranking stuff, but after a while it gets a little boring. You can't get caught once, you can't reload a check point (which really bugs me) and you have to transport all the goddamn prisoners too. If it wasn't for that part, I'd have all S ranks now. I really hate running those prisoners over.

I think the pistol has a max range of about 55 metres. After that it just won't hit. So true. Hitting enemies in those games is easy...but if it was hard I'd have probably thrown my vita across the room. It's difficult enough to do literally everything else.

From the little I know, he was important in Earthbound, Pokémon Gold and Silver, as well as Super Smash Bros. I really need to play Earthbound.

Cool, I was expecting replies saying I'm wrong, and that I need to keep trying. I think the 3D into and start screen set the tone for the game for me. It's super cheesy. I might just have an issue with the setting. Vampires, gothic, hardcore...it all feels as cheesy as the terrible 3D rendered bones. The awful, awful soundtrack just make it worse. The music in Super Metroid is so incredibly evocative. It feels like fear and isolation, but with the occasional heroic theme injected in some areas. It makes you play cautiously, there's going to be something scary soon, so go slowly! It makes you feel like a badass for being the lone mercenary going through a scary unknown planet. It fits with the exploration you're doing and makes every discovery feel amazing. SotN is not evocative of anything other than 80's hair metal bands. It's too fast and makes me want to plough through the level in speed run times even though it's my first ever experience with it. It actively discourages exploration by making me want to play fast. That's wrong! The UI is weak. Your health seems hidden and playing it on a Vita (maybe an issue for me rather than the original game) means the number is so tiny I don't even notice it. Compared to Metroid where it has a bar based health system, not just a number. It makes it so much more clear how cautious you should be. I honestly don't have anything good to say, I've played for about an hour, but everything about the game seems so freaking cheesy. I'm sure it was great in the day, but I'm not enjoying it. I really hate being so negative about a game, especially one so beloved (that part makes me feel wrong), but I'm struggling to find any redeeming qualities in it. Maybe I'll try out one of the GBA games. I looked for Dawn of Sorrow on ebay and it's in the order of £20, which seems ridiculous for a DS game.

Castlavania SotN doesn't hold up as well as super metroid. That weird motion blur is so incredibly off putting.

It's weirdly fun. I'm awful at it, but it's a fantastic game to play for 20 minutes or so. PS+ really helped it gain momentum.

Ok, so I have some thoughts and questions because I ended up getting obsessed again over the weekend. I'm perpetually broke. I want all the armor and all the weapons but I can't! After trying a bunch of weapons I've found out few things about my play style. - I like to hit-and-run. - I don't like slow things - I don't like getting close. This basically means glaive or bow. Which also means 2 weapons and 2 armor sets. So I'm going to be broke no matter what. While I've barely used the bow, I hate the fact that every time I go online, everyone is using the glaive. Which is why I decided to look at other weapons. Also, no one uses ranged stuff, so I feel I'd be filling a niche which is pretty cool. Online is fun, until some chump dies twice and ditches, causing everyone else to ditch too. Leaving me and a monster balanced for 4 hunters. How do I access the DLC? I've downloaded it, but nothing seems to happen when I do. Edit: Also, how about a Monday night weekly hunt?

Fuck, that's unexpected. Incredibly sad.

Yeah, my armour is a mess, but it has evade 2+ which I'm finding essential.

I have one decent IG, but I completely screwed up the kinsect. Didn't know what I was doing, and now I don't have access to the stuff to upgrade it further. I just need to work on my HR. I think I need to be 7 to unlock the quest that gives me access to the upgrade material. I've got the charms, but I don't think I've even come across a deviljho yet... I could use the serigios IG, dunno if it's worth it though. I hate those fights, and it's not a massive upgrade.
-
I need help again! I have hit a road block where I can progress, but each fight takes like 30 mins. I desperately need a new weapon, but nothing feels powerful enough. I'm currently using needle ivy, which is pretty good, I like the move set and the stun, but it's damage output is so pathetic. I have no access to any of the upgrade materials though!

I guess you're right about FPS enemies. I've only played a few first person shooters for more than an hour in the last 7 years, so I'm probably out of touch with how they're made. Also I've never played FFX, but if it's such a simple mechanic, then I have no problem with calling it trash. The way Mangela originally wrote it made it sound like you have to interact with a complex mechanic on easy enemies, not auto attack while swapping characters.

Thanks!

It's the same in other MMOs. If your group has their shit together a raid can be done in a short amount of time. They're still usually long though. Something like Ice Crown Citadel which I did a lot, was a long ass raid. Start to finish it was probably around 3-4 hours if you were extremely fast. 8+ for most groups. Edit: I might be overstating that, it's been a while and feels like it was that long, but probably wasn't. Also with groups of 10-40 in MMOs, it's a lot more likely that you'll find people that don't have their shit together, and just organising it takes time. Beating a boss then moving on to the next one could take 20 minutes or so if people were fighting over loot, or the raid leader was inexperienced. I don't know how easy it is to carry someone bad in Destiny, but having a weak or undergeared tank in an MMO raid makes it painfully difficult. Having an inexperienced healer means you'll probably be repeating fights over and over. In a 10 man raid, one or two below-par DPS players could mean hitting an enrage timer and wiping. The reverse is also true, an amazing tank or healer can mean a fight is done with no incidents, two DPS pulling more than their weight can cause a tough boss to die before you realise it. Fuck. Now I want to play WoW and Destiny again. Short answer is that I'm not sure if your FF example is trash. It offers value, it requires you to engage with multiple systems. C.f. Pokémon, where I can spam the A button to kill a pidgey while watching TV. FPS games also have less complexity (as in fewer mechanics). You aim. you need spacial awareness. All encounters are also individually designed for a specific level of difficulty, and you never repeat sections unless you fail (which by definition means those enemies aren't trash). The line is more blurred with something like Borderlands though...

Could you add a 3DS friend code section to the spread sheet?

The addons for WoW were all pretty much defunct by the time Cataclysm came out. You could just delete all of them and be happy. All the most popular ones were incorporated into the standard UI. The only ones I used were some hardcore PvP ones that let me target people without having to click them, or had cooldowns pop up on my screen essentially shouting YOUR COOLDOWN IS COOL NOW. The reason I can't get deep into Destiny is exactly the reason you can't get into WoW. I just don't have the ability to sit down for 2 hours and raid. Also the social side of Destiny is non-existent. What's the point of a guild in Destiny?
