  1. Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics

That's kinda my point, I don't mind losing in other games, but I can't find fun and rarely learn anything when I lose a hearthstone game. Example: I lose in Splatoon, I can derive personal success despite my team sucking, I can see how another player was better than me by how they splatted me and try to either emulate their tactics or just appreciate their aiming skill. Similar in Rocket League. Personal success. Marvelling at someone's incredible aerial goal or team work. In hearthstone I just feel like I got fucked by RNG most of the time. That's probably not true, but because RNG is a factor it's hard to learn from losses, I'm left thinking was it me, or was it the luck of the draw?
  2. Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics

That's great and all, but 1) I don't even have all common cards, 2) I have no idea how to make an efficient deck and 3) that still doesn't make losing fun.
  3. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

The thing about Bravely Default, is that random encounters are the best in any JRPG ever. You can literally turn them off. So there's no need to do them if you don't want to. Also, you can set essentially an automated attack pattern, bump up the random encounters to +100% and grind while practically ignoring the game. I'm not saying you shouldn't quit, but that your reason for quitting can be overcome if you want to continue. There are plenty of other problems with that game, I also quit!
  4. I dunno his insistence that reptiles and amphibians like crocodiles and snakes look similar therefore are more similar than humans and reptiles drove me insane. He even managed to ignore a quiet voice that said "they're both reptiles" which would have just ended the whole argument instantly.
  5. Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics

That is an issue I have too. I often find that I can predict the win depending entirely on how I've had to play a couple of cards, or if my opponent has a counter to a particular card. Mainly execute and frothing berserker. If those two are countered or used inefficiently, I've lost. The rest of the deck never seemed to matter.
  6. ketchup on pizza

I don't see turkey written anywhere on that box. Maybe they stopped pretending.
  7. ketchup on pizza

Yeah, well the British have universal health care and we also have these abominations:
  8. Life

So I tried again, and we've agreed to meet up on a holiday, and if I still feel the same way after, then she'll accept my decision. It's not ideal, but I'm having a hard time with anything that makes her sad.
  9. ketchup on pizza

Yes. It's awful pasta covered with an even more awful plastic "cheese."
  10. ketchup on pizza

Eh, let people put ketchup on mac and cheese. That stuff is already shit tier food, it's not like putting ketchup on it will make it worse.
  11. No Man's Sky

I wish I had space on my PS4 hard drive to take screenshots. I need to upgrade, but with Neo around the corner, I'm considering holding out for a 2 Tb version with increased specs.
  12. Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics

Casual is the worst. At least in the ranked games I occasionally come up against someone like me and have a good match. In Casual it's just a bunch of people using crazy powerful cards.
  13. What is the Nadir of the Simpsons?

It's a good episode because it made me laugh all the way through.
  14. Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics

Pretty much what I was going to say. It also doesn't help that just about everyone has fantastic 8, 9 and 10 mana cards, but I'm just using shitty ones that you get when you just start the game. I'm not saying hearthstone is a bad game, just that I'm not having fun.
  15. Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics

I tried to get back into the game. I played a lot of matches, around 30. I then remembered why I deleted it in the first place. Too much dependence on luck, losing isn't fun*. *The problem with losing is that I feel like I spend the whole game playing catch up, only to eventually lose. That's not a lot of fun. I saw I was losing from the beginning then lost, I kept playing because there are times when luck can switch to your side and you can pull off a last second win. Losing like that - the opponent getting an amazing card is just the worst. Literally nothing you can do about it, that's REALLY not fun. I want to like the game, I love the basic game play a lot, but I just can't enjoy losing like I can in other games. If I lose in Splatoon, Destiny, Rocket League I can still have fun. I can still say I played my best and maybe had a few moment of personal greatness. Most Hearthstone losses involve every good move you make being immediately countered so you constantly feel on the back foot.

    This is just amazing. http://kotaku.com/zapp-brannigans-voice-actor-reading-stupid-donald-trump-1785180841
  17. Super Metroid Appreciation Station

I'm currently playing 3 different Super Metroid games, all at different places on 3 different devices. I'm in way over my head.
  18. No Man's Sky

I shot down a guy who was a merchant or something. It felt good. Maybe I can just be a pirate. I still really like this game, and I still don't know why. I have no idea what I'm doing, what there is to do or why I'm doing anything, but I also never run out of things to do, and never feel bored.
  19. No Man's Sky

I really like this game and I don't really know why. Still in the tutorial part but just wandering around a planet was super cool. I don't like how it costs a ton of fuel to take off with your ship. It means I never want to just fly around a planet because I'm scared I'll get stuck. The weird part is, it's like, explore to find resources to allow you to explore to find resources to allow you to explore ad infinitim. This would normally put me off...but it's weirdly enjoyable.
  20. No Man's Sky

Previously I used Destiny for that, but I fell behind with gear and suddenly playing daily missions was stressful and difficult, so I dropped it completely. Well, I'm looking forward to playing it when I get home from work. Also, I love that I can buy a game from work and have it download on my PS4 while I'm still there. That was the only down side of digital for me - having to wait for the download.
  21. No Man's Sky

I've been looking for a game that I can just turn on and veg out to. When I get home from work, I just want to immerse myself in something that's not stressful, and fun. Looks like it's exactly whatI want.
  22. No Man's Sky

I was thinking of waiting for a few reviews before I picked up NMS, but...do I really care what some random dude on the internet thinks? Might as well just buy it and play it. I have the money right now.
  23. ketchup on pizza

    Canada has drugs?
  24. No Man's Sky

Yeah, I get you, I just doubt it'll be an issue. There's such a low chance of player interaction that there'll be plenty left for you to call what you want. I'm excited to come across my first "Buttplanet" and "Penisaur" though.
