"I dated Liara in the first game, because Ashley was a space-racist and I wanted none of that. I still sent Kaiden instead of her to die, though." Hah! Such a wallpaper character that people would rather keep the space-racist. I made the same decision, Gormongous. In the first game, my first time through, I think I kept uttering supportive platitudes to Liara, basically to bolster my paragon points, and she eventually wanted to do it. Did we do it? I don't remember. Is it even possible to shag anyone in the first game? I'm drawing a complete blank. In the 2nd game, Garrus. Garrus all the way. I tried it on with Jack as a male character but fucked it up by saying something nice to her at one point, when I felt we were better acquainted. She always rejects praise, I think, so whatev. No big loss. In the 3rd game, nobody. Was playing as a Renegade and really enjoyed being petty and mean to all of my crew.

My spendthrift girlfriend treated me to this today. After I thanked/scolded her (yes, I really did, I'm a total ungrateful shit), I noticed that it's GIGANTIC and won't be downloaded for about a week. But when it's finished, does anybody want to do any heists with an ungrateful shit?

Finished Cave Story. I don't remember the final three bosses being so tricky to beat when I was a kid; must be slowing down in my old age. Took me about seven or eight tries in total.

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Binned UnEpic after about three hours. Bollocks, mate. -
Same here. CC is one of the best shmups I've ever played

Sorry to dig this thread back up (haha, I'm so funny) but as I just got my XBONE pad in the post, I thought I'd give Shovel Knight a play for the first time. So far, so joyous. Thankfully, the d-pad on this controller is pretty good - albeit a bit slippery after a while - so I managed to get through a couple of stages with no problems. The boss designs are fantastic, and I thought there were some really neat touches in Spectre Knight's stage, like the lightning flashes and the plants that you can send into the sky and then bounce on to get higher. The ghosts are straight out of Mario, but that's okay: I'll be generous and say "homage" instead of "rip off" What the fuck is up with Troupple tho. That thing is weeeeiiiirrrrdddd

Dark Souls 2 (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor))
Trip Hazard replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
The Four Kings, and I absolutely agree that speed and agression is key to that fight. If you haven't seen Emarrel (on Youtube) fighting them at SL1 on NG+7, it's pretty electifying 'cos he/she can't afford to make any mistakes at all. I just fought and beat them on NG+, and breathed a huge sigh of relief when it was done. Superb boss.- 1284 replies

Dark Souls 2 (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor))
Trip Hazard replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
I haven't played Demon's Souls or Bloodborne, and probably never will. Anyway, here's my 5 picks from t'other games Ornstein & Smough Gargoyles (I like a fight where you have to manage two enemies(but I really didn't like the gargoyle fight from DS2)) Artorias, because he's agressive and powerful and has a good range of attacks. The Smelter Demon. Okay, his weapon's hitbox is a bit obscene, but fighting him was always a challenge and felt like an event, which can't be said of many bosses from DS2 The Ruin Sentinels- 1284 replies

Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

I said I had completely lost it, but I just completed Hell on today's daily challenge ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)
Trip Hazard replied to Irishjohn's topic in Multiplayer Networking
I do the daily challenge every now and again, but I'm awful at Spelunky now, just terrible. I've just lost it as I don't play often enough. My girlfriend plays way more than I do now, and she's catching up to me in terms of ability - think I'd sooner watch her play than play myself! -
Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG
Trip Hazard replied to TychoCelchuuu's topic in Video Gaming
Quick Q: Is this game funny, at all? I've only seen one review even mention it, and that reviewer said it was all pretty stern and serious (albeit well-written) Naturally, humour is a subjective thing, so I'll say that I really like the humour in Planescape and particularly the first two Fallout games. Cheers- 214 replies

Axiom Verge is looking really good, so now is not an ideal time for my controller to give up the ghost *sadface* Did Jeremy Parish coin the term "metroidvania"?

Have got Steam keys for Pixel Piracy, Super Splatters and Torchlight 2. Chuck me a DM if you'd like one of them (regular posters only plz) Edit: From the same bundle, I also have Steam keys for MirrorMoonEP and Contraption Maker.

Thanks so much for recommending Freddi Fish. My 7-yr old stepdaughter absolutely loves it, so far, and would probably have completed the game in one long session if I didn't force her to save something for another time. Cheers!

I would quite like a copy of SS2, if it's still up for grabs? Please and thank you

Close to finishing Dark Souls again, woo hoo. Initially I was just doing it for the Steam achievements, but it has once again become something of an obsession, causing me to entirely neglect all of the other perfectly good games I have installed (Planescape, XCOM, Alien: Isolation...) What a game.

So sad to hear that Terry Pratchett passed away, he really was one of a kind, both in terms of his writing and of course in his character. I started in on his books really early in my life, before I was even capable of reading them properly, let alone understanding them. For some reason, despite neither of my parents being readers, we had The Carpet People and Diggers on the bookshelf, and that amazing cover art just sucked me in before even reading a single page. I remember being struck by the powerful imagery and the philosophical musings, presented in an off-the-cuff, conversational style. He had a wonderful gift for grounding a big idea, and making it seem smaller and more manageable, much like Douglas Adams. After I'd read those, I went to the library and started in on the Discworld books, whichever I could get my hands on. I think my first might have been Eric, which isn't bad, but I always liked the City Watch the most. If I had to choose a favourite it'd be Guards! Guards!, but I regret not having read quite a few of the more popular ones, so will do my best to correct that. RIP Terry

My account name is apparently FuryBoy.7640 However, I don't know if I'm on an NA server, or even how to migrate across to one. I'll have a look once I've installed the game again.

Yep, I'd be up for that. Am looking for an excuse to get back into it.

48 hours here, and 104 achievements, or 58% Bit bored of BoI now, though. Haven't played properly in days.

You're making me want to play it again Tegan, but I know I'll just get bored of running back and forth when you get to that first grassy area. I'm so lazy

Did you kill that big, nasty worm in the cave yet? Pretty sure it's an optional fight, but after it trounced me a couple of times I just couldn't let it go. I love Xenoblade, it's so great.

Last night, I played Dead of Winter with a friend for the first time. I was tired so I don't think I fully understood some of the more strategic decisions in there, such as when to build barricades, when to rummage noisily, when to hoard items instead of giving them up etc., but I did have a great time playing it. It's phenomenally well presented and every aspect of it (that I could see) served both a narrative and mechanical function. It was tough and our team didn't win, despite not playing with a betrayer at all, but it was nail-biting stuff and I can't wait to play again.

Can I be really cheeky and ask if anyone could gift me a copy of this? I like a bit of frantic twin-stick action, have done ever since I was a kid playing Super Smash TV. Boy, that was a difficult game...

Technially, I just completed Grow Home, but I won't be satisfied until I've found all the secrets, collected all the wotsits, and chucked a meep out of the spacecraft. I love Grow Home, I really hope the Ubisoft Reflections team make more for me to play.
