I'm not sure it is a clinical term. It's not in the DSM, which sounds like its at least part because people can't quite agree on what exactly it encompasses ( like does the liar know, or not know, that he is lying?). But it sure as hell is a loaded term/question. Ultimately I think the interview, while somewhat interesting, is mostly a waste. Like, what did we learn, that Molyneaux lives in a "truth bubble" of his own making in which he can't always recognize facts versus his memory of them? Okay, we all do that to some extent, and it's hardly surprising that he does it to a greater extent. That his grasp on the nuts and bolts of development is far exceeded by his vision. Knew that already. For an hour long interview, there is surprisingly little meat there. The more interesting story there is what is actually going on inside 22 Cans, and Walker's interview probably makes it much harder to ever learn that.

Yeah, I've actually read that, and it isn't particularly redeeming to me. If you've needed to subject multiple people to potentially life ruining events for your own entertainment and enrichment, and you only really begin to learn empathy after it happens to you...big hill to climb there to convince people you've changed. Plus, months after he tanked her life, he decided to pile on because she had taken a new job, likely one of the few she could get thanks to him. This is all just in the last year. It's not like it's years in the past, this is the person that Sam Biddle was a matter of months ago. Someone who would make sure that a previous target couldn't easily and quietly move on with her life. Oh no, can't let that happen when there are Gawker commenters to entertain. I'm impressed that Sacco has forgiven him. I probably wouldn't have. Although she might have needed to as a survival mechanism. Being as he was willing to re-target her months after his first flash mob. Who knows when he might have decided to dredge her name back up on a lazy Tuesday for a few extra clicks. Edited to add: And now her forgiveness of him is part of his redemption story as he goes from Valleywag to a *somewhat* more serious role higher up the Gawker food chain, with that story coming out in the same month he took the new job. I'm having a particularly cynical day today and am not prone to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The SVU episode might not have been all bad:

Actually, It's about Relocation in Games Journalism

They're not going to have much left soon. -
Biddle dismantled a portion of her life just because he could, because it was funny to him with a bonus that he got paid to do it. If I could eradicate one of the two behaviors, I think I would pick getting rid of someone gleefully fucking with strangers' lives over some kinda racist dumb tweets. I'm not convinced that Biddle and his ilk aren't just as dangerous as the worst of gamergate.

That was really difficult to read. There are some good questions in there, but I agree opening with that question was brutal, and arguably unnecessary. Molyneaux seems to have gone from overpromising visionary to liar since founding 22 Cans. Or maybe it was just before that he had corporate overlords to keep him in check.

Has there been a good article exploring the idea that some gamers/geeks are possessive, controlling assholes of their favored mediums in the same way that some people are possessive, controlling assholes of their romantic partners? Like, Gone Home pissed people off because it was like their girlfriend hanging out with a new friend, gaming was stepping out on them. Just an idea that popped into my head tonight that seems familiar enough that I should have encountered it somewhere, but a quick search didn't turn anything up.

I had sworn off bundles for awhile, but just in case someone doesn't notice, the current weekly one has a fabulous line-up of romance and interactive fiction games (ft. Hatoful Boyfriend and the Hates). I couldn't help myself.

Darkest Dungeon: Fear is a mind killer, and so is Eldritch Pull

It seems like there are multiple simple solutions to the Sanitarium. Like have a low chance of removing a positive trait with the Sanitarium. Even if it's only like a 5 percent chance, it's going to make you think about whether or not you really need to remove that negative. Or have some negative traits intrinsically linked to positive. Or the Sanitarium has a chance to actually add a new negative trait. -
I want to know the full story behind Konrad, because holy fuck, in two years how does someone go from being a backer, to an intern (paid/unpaid?) to the lead designer of Molyneux' abandoned project.

Nor would they want to use the T word for the same reason. No one in government wants to entertain the idea that the police terrorize some civilians.
-
I think terrorism is likely the most accurate term, but I also hate how overly used (and selectively applied) that word is. It's hard for me to endorse its use at all at this point.

But its pretty fucked up when the women you are modeling the show after are, in fact, refusing to give up and continuing to do their thing. Actually, the Belle Knox episode ended in a similar way, with the character slinking off into the night, kicked out of school, alienated from her parents and going back to porn work. It stands in contrast to the real life Knox, who (as far as I know) is still in school and has publicly defended herself and her choices through writing and speaking.

This is on top of a bill introduced this week that would bar gays from being foster parents. Thats process! I'll link to that later when I'm home. I love this state, but I fucking hate some of the people in it. Edited to add: The bill.
-
My state is moving backwards, taking legal protections away from LGBT people. This is fucking ridiculous.

I may go back to it, I left it installed on my phone. I just knew I certainly wanted a break. And yeah, the diversity between the three runs was crazy, like I don't think I saw a single piece of duplicated content. I actually did the Trans-Siberian run on my first playthrough, but had a terrible bit of luck towards the end that cost me like a week, just enough to not make it in the 80 days. I didn't realize that different options began appearing over time, like a different route out of London!

Concept art from a new (presumably cancelled) ALIEN film

It's a video game, I'm sure someone will! I actually quit playing after my third trip. I still haven't done it in 80 days, but the three trips I made were all fabulous experiences and I decided if I played anymore I would ultimately dilute how good the early trips were. If someone ever extracts all the possible events, I would be curious to read through the rarest ones though.

No, I think it would be Otacon. Kojima does show up next to run-on sentences though.

Apparently 80 Days has a few super rare endings that only a handful of people have seen, SO YOU'RE PROBABLY NOT DONE YET! Back into the balloon Passepartout.

And totally fucking done with the Nightly Show. Last night's episode was about America's relationship with war. Wilmore and his writing crew decided they needed to drop in a joke about Bruce Jenner and the ambiguous state of Jenner's genitals. It was by far the most mean spirited and unnecessary joke so far. Just killed the browser window as soon as he said it. Trans women, hilarious, amirite?

Dammit, you outed yourself before I could take this thread down the conspiracy, tin-foil abyss of MG references.
