  1. Non-video games

Some RPG books are free this weekend, picked up Ravenloft! http://www.rpgnow.com/product/17493/RQ1-Night-of-the-Walking-Dead-2e?it=1
  2. Photos of things

I tried my hand at some gig photography for my co-workers band. Was hard. I took my 50mm prime and nothing else really. The venue was small so I couldn't really move around so it was difficult getting varied compositions!

    Sunspot AR 2192 from today:
  4. Non-video games

I know this sounds corny, but I am really down for anything. I was hoping to check out 5e, but both of those other options sound interesting! Is numanera from some rpg setting? It sounds super familiar. I'll check out Oberon as well just to try to familiarize myself with them.
  5. General Video Game Deals Thread

Just picked it up, too tempting.
  6. Non-video games

My last character was named Abe Linkon (elf cleric), who wore a sick cape and played the flute badly.

So I would definitely say I prefer the roleplay and exploration part of DnD but I also dig combat, especially if it is serving a narrative or working towards a goal. I also probably lean more to the goofy/fun side of things as well, I am have no preference on setting. Having said that, if you are more into the dungeon crawl stuff, that totally works for me especially if we are treating this as a proof of concept thing, I would just totally dig and idle thumbs RPG group, hah.
  8. Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth

So, I picked it up and it seems super broken because I have my TV and Monitor hooked up to my PC which is disappointing.
  9. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I have a weekly game night where my friends come over and we play through games, and we are playing Dark Souls (their fist time ever) and it is funny watching them go through stuff. I take for granted now how little that game directs you, it's been tough balancing tips with letting them explore.
  10. Non-video games

Ah cool, I have ton of family in Aus/NZ. I would get up early/stay up late on the weekend to accommodate the DM, whatever would be easiest for you.
  11. Non-video games

Where are you from? I'd be down, I just finished up reading trough the 5e handbook!
  12. Non-video games

Does anyone DM we should get a roll20 game going!
  13. Non-video games

I have the 5e PHB coming on Wednesday, I am thinking of converting our current characters over to the new version. It is a pretty awesome game!
  14. Destiny

So I finished the 'story' portion of the game and wow, that was even worse than I was expecting. Glad it is over so I can so doing strikes and playing some crucible and not worrying about over leveling my character.

    Damn clouds ruining my shots.
  16. Spacebase!

Man, this is kind of a bummer. The game doesn't feel "fun" yet, it feels kind of like janky busy work, I was expecting a little more, but I guess that is the risk you take with early access stuff. As much as I dig doublefine this will probably put me off buying anything early access from them again. Ah well!
  17. Destiny

Hey, I am CST, but I am always down to play, I am YoThatLimp!
  18. Destiny

Maybe it is just me but this game on PS3 feels sort of anti-social. I don't have a huge friends list, for most of last gen I was on xbox. Most of my ps3 RL friends have moved on to PS4. I have kept my fireteam stuff open, attempted to talk to people, invited people to my fireteam etc but no luck. Kind of a bummer because I feel like this game would be way more enjoyable with a few people, even if they were just randoms. I have a good time during strikes.

I took a photo of our Sun today!
  21. Destiny

Okay so you have a hub (orbit) where you pick from several locations (earth, moon, venus, etc) and then you pick a mission. It can be a strike mission (boss raid), a patrol (think free roam from Red Dead Redemption with less non-killing stuff in it and more fetch quest grinding) or a story mission. In the list of locations you also have the town (buy upgrades, "social" stuff) and the crucible which is online multiplayer. Man those Strikes are kind of hard. That first one (two of us were under leveled) took me 1.5 hours and at the very end the other under leveled dude bailed making it even harder! I really wish the rest of the game had match making, they really made inviting people into Fire teams really shitty and drawn out.
  22. Destiny

I am totally surprised at how awesome it is. Fairly stable frame rate, looks great, plays great. I am totally pleased I didn't wait a few months for ps4. Plus getting the free upgrade copy and knowing I will be able to play my characters on ps4 seemed like a pretty great incentive to buy now rather than wait.
  23. Idle Food - Cooking!

    That sounds great!
  24. Shaving My Thumbs

Stop shaving and you never have to worry about it again!
  25. Destiny

So the ps3 version is pretty awesome, I was expecting to be kind of a shit show but it is a fairly stable framerate. I think some of the menus are kind of obtuse and they don't really hold your hand with some stuff but having fun.
