Fury Road is the Wolfenstein: The New Order of movies. I was hoping for a not terrible reboot and got so much more.

What happens if you fire a water arrow at a guard holding a torch? Will he freak out and start flailing around in the dark, potentially resulting in unfortunate guard-on-guard violence?

I tried color grading at first, but it looked really strange. Some materials would look fine while others looked like a black and white negative, if that makes sense. My solution ended up being super simple. Separate the red channel, compare the resulting float to another float and set the color to black or white depending on the result. You could repeat the process with the green and blue channels and add them all together at the end, but it looks basically the same except slightly brighter. A bunch of nested if statements with different cutoff values and colors, and some pixelization:

I really wish I had the time to do something, but it's the worst possible time for me.

Fun with post processing. I really like this style, but the aggressive contrast makes it less than ideal for an actual game.

I actually like the untextured look. Have you played Mirror Moon? There's no manual space flight in the game, but the ship that transports the player between levels is kind of similar to your concept.

Will there be a secret seventh blade?

I recently bought my first tv since leaving home ten years ago. Terrible decision, I'm so used to watching things on my computer that it basically only gets used when my girlfriend is here.

I'm terrible at working within time constraints, but I'll try to make something. -
C++ and blueprints are good at different things, you'll probably want to combine them. I have taken to using blueprints with a lot of custom nodes written in C++, it's kind of the best of both worlds.

Unfortunately the latter, I basically want to save a single frame as a texture.

Any ideas on how to do in-game photography? Render textures reset on restart, so that's not an option. And I'm honaj on the friends thing.

They gave me $30 worth of marketplace credit as a refund, I bought some rocks. Putting UT in the same launcher as the engine will however kill my productivity, given the choice between working and shooting someone in the face with the flak cannon I will always choose the flak cannon.

Sid Meier was never the same after that terror mission.

Thanks. Flat-shaded solid colors is my default style for whatever I'm working on, makes things look a bit more interesting with very little effort. I always convert BSPs to static meshes. For reasons that are beyond me BSPs cause quite a performance hit, and you can't control things like whether they cast shadows or have collision.

I started experimenting with construction scripts and did a wall module thing where you can choose the wall color and attach a piece of furniture with randomized materials. I plan to add more furniture and randomize things like the number and placement of boxes and books on the shelves, if there's stuff on the desks, if the computer screens are on or off, etc.

I can't think of a reason to not save time and go completely dynamic if you're just doing a small tutorial where performance isn't an issue.

That's obviously the best solution, don't know why I didn't think of that in the first place. I might actually try this when I have the time.

I bought a rowing machine last year. It's great, having my main mode of exercise next to my desk gives me no excuses to not work out daily. I've actually been thinking about doing something like that. I have an Oculus and I could probably do a decent rowing sim in UE4, but I have no idea how I would do the motion tracking. Maybe a Kinect?

You win, I guess? The worst part is that I'm a terrible CS player, after playing the game semi-regularly for some 15 years I still screw up constantly.

I could have done so much with that time. I'm really going to hate myself if/when I hit 1000 hours.

There were a few major changes to C++ between 4.5 and 4.6 but it didn't actually break my code, it was just a hassle to update everything.

I bought Salt yesterday, it's the most relaxing survival game I've ever played. Early morning fishing. Rough seas.

I've got humble gift links for Year Walk and Eidolon.
