  1. Battlefield 1

When you are at a flag, you should see a semi-circle that might have a little bit of red on it. That red is enemy presence. On this particular map, there seems to be a lot of folks waiting just outside of the capture radius until it is captured by your team; once you capture, they will run back in or snipe. I think dealing with it requires a few techniques. The most reliable one is to own a particular objective for the entire map; even after you die, you will see that enemy patterns are emerging. Another technique is to pay attention to the minimap, especially friendly tank placement and crossbones. The tanks tend to draw most of the attention and keeping them on your flank, but not being too close to them can give you some survivability. If dying frequently bothers you a lot, I'd snipe or mortar from behind friendly objectives. I wouldn't say that stealth, flanking kills are especially common in Battefield games, but I know what you are talking about and I think it is this particular map. Also remember that if you are sniping and you don't move positions after you have an encounter, someone will know where you are.

I made a video where I point out that you can make foxholes and open and close doors.
  3. Idle Streaming Community: Twitchy, Tasty

Here's a video where I play the Battlefield 1 beta.
  4. The Next President

Yeah, but they wouldn't write one because they are too busy trying to get justice for Vincent Fleck. lol.
  5. I finished the tutorial and added some additional scripting and art-assets. I couldn't stand not having sound and things escalated from there. http://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/10308 Here is what my PlayerController.cs ended up looking like
  6. Battlefield 1

This video has a lot of info that I did not pick up just from playing: I really turned the corner on the game today. Even though I enjoyed playing it yesterday, I wasn't convinced that I would want to play it more than BF4, but after today I'm like "yeah...I really like this game".
  7. If you are on PC, the shortcut to rename the gameObject immediately after creation is 'F2', not 'enter'. Learning to use that just now is a small convenience, but I do it so frequently; I probably gained a few hours of life by looking that up.
  8. Battlefield 1

I just assumed that there would be female models in the final game and this was just a limitation of the beta. Is this not the case? Edit: I looked it up http://www.pcgamesn.com/battlefield-1/battlefield-1-scrapped-female-soldiers-because-boys-don-t-believe-in-them-says-ex-dice-coder weak. Maybe it'll be DLC. Oh also: I noticed last night that sometimes the cannons have blown-up shafts and they won't work when they do. I think they may be on a repair-timer of some sort? ALSO: I think the fact that the weather-system seems to make storms appear at various times of the match or not at all, is really neat.
  9. Battlefield 1

I don't have much trouble using the cannons. They work really well as a mechanical-incentive for me to hold bases on a front line. Even with the assault-class I can't take out a tank, but I've taken out quite a few from a distance from the cannons at 'A' or 'D'. I played a game this morning and someone on the enemy team was capable of bombing targets from a plane. I've tried flying an aeroplane and I have no idea how they were able to use it so well. Also, I really enjoy wantching people on horses coming from 'E'. There is something really enjoyable about taking pot-shots at horseback riders coming over the dunes. It goes back to that "deliberate" feeling I mentioned earlier, there is a certain type of cinematic-fantasy to this game that the series has lacked with the exception of Battlefield:1943; the fantasy of taking pot-shots at a sword-wielding horseback rider coming at you over the dunes.
  10. Maybe this will be the time I realize I should use these "coroutines" everyone raves about.
  11. Paragon (lane pusher)

I'll do that. Your friends are gonna be so mad when my Decker initiates an involuntary cage-match.
  12. Paragon (lane pusher)

I also haven't played in a while, but I might jump back in for a bit now that it's released. It's just a really hard game to be bad at.
  13. I've been using Unity for a couple of years, but I'd like to participate anyway. So do I just go through the Roll-A-Ball tutorial by next Sunday?
  14. It sounds like the spin frequency is resonating with something. I don't know if that is a concern. If it bothered me, I might try to put a thin piece of packaging material between it and the frame it touches. I'm no expert though, I'm not sure if there is a risk of damage. I know so little that I probably shouldn't have suggested anything.
  15. 86 hours played: I just now found out that Torbjorn has an alternate fire by accidentally right-clicking.
  16. iOS Gaming

I just started playing it and I'm enjoying it. I think that the sound seems like simple implementation at first, but it really helps my level of engagement.
  17. TITANFLAPS 2

Does this distaste for single-player fps campaigns apply to Far Cry 2?
  18. The Next President

To be clear, I don't think that the U.S. is planning to have a more apparent presence in Syria just for an election; I just think that the Democrats may be timing things and presenting them in such a way where they can leverage the move for more political gain. I have a hard time believing that this photograph of a little boy in Aleppo is inherently special compared to the photos of war that have been taken over the past few years. Then the other day I heard on the news that Assad is using chemical weapons again. It seems like the effort to gain public support for war has gotten a bump and I do suspect that it is orchestrated. It doesn't matter I suppose. It just makes me feel slightly more in control when I point this out. Gives me a head-start in considering what my own opinion is before the media-spin really starts.
  19. The pinatas in El Dorado are now breakable. I tried to break them when the game first came out and was rather disappointed that they were not an interactable object with any collision. I'm reading conflicting accounts, but I specifically remember trying to break them with Pharah's rockets and it not working. The one that hangs under the bridge.
  20. The Next President

I was given the impression that the Obama administration negotiated chemical weapons use out of the conflict. I'll also admit that I don't think the U.S. should have gone in in 2011. I'd consider myself part of the constituency that was disgusted by the possibility of more military involvement in the region at that time.
  21. The Next President

Is anyone else noticing the war-drums? Seems like the Obama administration is lining up public support for a more obvious prescence of U.S. troops in Syria. I suspect that it is being timed in such a way to make Clinton look hawkish enough for the election. I bet she's the one who will announce the war once she's elected.
  22. K-Dramas & K-pop

It seems like YG is starting a new cycle with the 2NE1 formula which works so well. Teddy seems to be feeling it. ...it's like a post-Red Velvet 2NE1. They even have a with overly dramatic vocals for the harmonious parts used for breaks.
  23. \ I love thinking that this is what was on the stereo when Reinhardt and Ana first hooked up.
