I was hoping for an iTunes code or something (yuck, but it's what I have from work,) but I'd imagine that Apple is pretty stingy with those.
-
Oooh, I want a lot of those games, but it's Android only I assume?
-
I know this is a bit late, but could you even do that? In the first test (I refuse to call it alpha) you couldn't get 5 people in a party, which really sucked.

Hmm, I don't recall owl statues or being able to slow down the clock when I played. I just know that I got half way through the first major area twice before I had to start over and then I gave up. It's strange, because I really like the time limiting mechanic in Dead Rising, but it was feeling impossible to get anything done in MM. At least in Dead Rising if you have to restart, you get to keep XP and such? I wonder if that's what makes the difference.

I was aware that was an option, but I was able to just run through pretty much everything anyway. The only area I had problems with was trying to take back Kvatch so I could get the help of an extra soldier for the great gate, but that wasn't strictly necessary. The FAQ I read before the final couple of missions talked about all these fancy strategies on how to best get past the boss and into the chapel. When the time finally came I just walked past him, no problem at all, and ended up having to wait in the chapel for the key characters to arrive and start the final sequence.

They're basically doing the same thing as ME3 does, where there is a group goal (in this case 1 million secret chests opened) and a personal goal (25 secret chests.) If you participate even once and the community reaches the goal, you get a bonus card pack, and if you reach your personal goal, you get a bonus card pack as well. I haven't redeemed my group goal chest, but my personal goal card pack had some pretty awesome goodies that were much better than anything that I've pulled from any other chest or card pack I've opened. It might just be coincidence, or maybe they loot tables for those are better?

I was hot dogging it into a starbase last night and ran into the gate on the outside of the bay. It didn't feel like I hit it going that hard, but it was hard enough apparently and I went from being 1 mining load away from getting the advanced discovery scanner to three loads (The one I was carrying when I died, plus ship replacement costs.) I know it was all my fault and all, but I just don't know why I play. I'm gonna finally grind up to that scanner and then what? Grind some more I guess?

Finally, after first getting an Xbox 360 because my computer couldn't run it, and buying it three separate times because the disk broke, then the game of the year edition came out, I have beaten Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. I did most of the DLC, completed both the Warrior and Mage guilds, and of course the main quest. I had a couple of fairly broken swords at the end and also enough life to just run through all the oblivion gates without fighting anything, which is good because I'd already clocked 110 hours on that save and 30+ on two others and I didn't want to take my time with it anymore. I just wanted it done. It's still an awesome game, but also evidence that there really can be too much of a good thing. Way way too much, in fact.

I believe I took a week off of work to play one of the new Halos, but it was all pre-planned, not sick days. I'd never take a sick day because of some self-cause malady. I don't care how hung over or tired I am, I will crawl to work if I have to.

Interesting, my wartable is almost empty besides resource gathering missions. Since they only take around 10 minutes a piece, I'll start a set, run around talking to my companions, and it will be done about the same time I'm done talking. In general, I flit around a bunch so I haven't had any problems with resources yet, but I've also not really been able to craft anything worth having. Is there some secret to getting lots of good patterns? On the dragon front, I just killed my first dragon. It was the one in Crestwood, it was level 13 and I was level 12. It was a very long fight, but also boring after I died once and got the pattern down. The only challenging thing was when he would do a wing-beat vacuum move that would tend to down both my mages unless I was quick on the draw and moved them in toward the dragon before they took too much damage. Cassandra tanked the entire time and only ever needed on healing potion and one regen potion. It still felt pretty epic, but I'm not sure if I like how all the bosses have such huge health bars. It seems kinda ridiculous. Edit: Did anyone play in the multiplayer weekend? I actually had a lot of fun, I think it was just trying to be a shield guy that pissed me off. Once I started up a mage I had a great time.

My playing has slowed a bit as well, but I still log in occasionally and do some exploring or mining as I work my way toward an advanced discovery scanner.

Oh man, I'm not sure if MH4 is going to be worth a whole new console.

So my wife is one of the three people on the internet that doesn't have Left 4 Dead 2. Does anyone have either a discount or a copy of the game they can toss me?

Health-wise, who really knows? Behavior wise, definitely.

Twin Peaks Rewatch 13: The Orchid's Curse
Dewar replied to Jake's topic in Twin Peaks Rewatch Episodes
Oh yeah, I was trying to figure out where that was said. That makes it really funny in the podcast when they say that Audrey has been missing for weeks, when it's probably been 4-5 days. When Cooper asks Horne about Audrey, I believe he said that it's not uncommon for her to disappear for a couple nights a time, so figure that it was probably two days up until that point, then maybe another two as they've been arranging the ransom. -
I didn't even know the vaulters could do that. That would have been handy on occasion.

My friends who smoke a lot more than I would disagree. In Washington we like local craft breweries, Washington wines, and artisan weed Back when it was first legalized here, there was a scramble to get stores up, but a complete failure by the state on the licensing side, leading to supplies being limited. The few authorized producers were trying so hard to make demand that they were (and this is where my understanding gets sketchy) drying the weed with a much quicker but less desirable process, making the smoke a little acrid. Still, it's fun being able to compare strains that are officially labeled and packaged by different companies. Edit: Reading some news, it looks like it's only about a 50% markup now, and 4-5x prices were more about the rarity of the time.

So, I imagine that MH4 will be coded to take advantage of the extra memory and stick, but still be old 3DS compatible?
-
Oh yeah, it's ridiculously expensive here in Washington literally 5x the price or more of the illegal stuff.

In my game, I never got attacked once by another civilization, and only a few times from minor races. I didn't feel the need to have a military at all.

Hmm, I wonder which version of Chrono Trigger that is. It might be nice to have Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross in one place without dealing with disks. Edit Looks like it's a straight port of the PS1 version, which has the added cut scenes but is missing the new translation. Maybe I'll just buy Chrono Cross.

So, this is the game to get then, because Marvelous is developing it?

That's a shame. Around here Target is one of my favored department stores, that and Fred Meyer (part of Kroger.)

It's legal in Washington, so I got to try it. I don't really think it's all that, but to each their own.

*fart* The Evolve "alpha" didn't interest me very much, and now the rumors of it being the most DLC'd shooter in history look like they are coming true.
