Yeah, that's a weird way to frame the legacy stuff. but what you're really passing on is a trait and maybe a crew member or piece of equipment.

I hopped in last night and made a couple of cargo runs to the group project. Unfortunately, it doesn't pay very well. On my first trip, I grabbed metals from where I was sitting before jumping out there, and made about a 40k profit on a cargo size of 24. Then, having to buy minerals in the area that were largely sold out, my next trip only made 20k. I think I'm going to go back to my home system and do more mining instead. Edit: I should mention that the risk is a ton higher, simply because there were so many players there, even 30 minutes before the nightly downtime. I didn't get interdicted, but I came pretty close to running into another player hot-dogging it out of the star port.

I almost bought that one time. Man, his presentation at PAX was memorizing.

I don't understand how all that only merits 5 years prison.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
Dewar replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
Yes, it was a snide comment about this. I could swear I'd heard news before that Bethesda was screwing with people using strange publishing deals, but I can find anything to link. -
Nice, I'll have to hop on and do a trade run to that new station and hopefully that will also get me the last cash I need to get my new scanner.

Hmm, so I still see one person connecting to the server on occasion, but that's it. Have the majority moved over to Tabacco's server, or is there a lack of interest in general?

Man, if I was Valve I'd be naming a variable in every single piece of code I wrote HL3.

I would say you should be good to go MP after completing the * and ** quests, if it keeps the pace the same as MH3U. Earlier if you have patient friends

There's the new north pole stuff too right?

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS

So they're going to extend their publishing arm and ruin more games? -
My first play was around 10 hours, my second is up to that as well. It is certainly a time sink.

Every time you go out, plan a loop to hit as many places as possible and get port reports. Obviously, you can deviate from that route to explore, but having an idea of where you want to go helps a bunch. Turning in port reports gets you one fuel a piece as well as a few echos, and can generally keep you in business at the start. Abuse friendly ports like Hunters Keep. There are a few places on the map that will give you free supplies every time you stop by. Make sure to swing by them both heading out and coming back in (as long as you have the Something Awaits You lantern.) Get good at the combat. It's fairly easy to get in behind most of the beginner enemies and plink away at them, regardless of your gun power. Taking out the sea life can get you enough supplies to keep on going without having to buy any.

That pretty quickly stalled out my progress. When I got hit by one of those beams I died before I could even use a healing item.

Yeah, must be a bug. If you throttle down you are supposed to automatically submit to the interdiction, and even if you were fighting it it should only go on for a minute, tops.
-
Have you had to fight the first boss yet? That's a pretty dang hard area.

If you're still streaming regularly, care to re-post the link?

I'm a little rusty, but the target display just to the left of your center console will change from something like "Unknown Star" to "G type Star" with a little more information there. You can see some pictures that show the Unknown and Scanning states (as well as a better description of the scanning process) at http://lavewiki.com/exploration To scan you have to be pointing directly at the targeting reticle, so if the star was large enough, it could be that you weren't pointing directly at the center. Also, it might have scanned it already and you didn't notice, or it might have been one of the pre-scanned systems.

Persona 5 - 2015 the year of the PS3 / Persona Q - 3DS

I like the first cover better. I guess America just doesn't market to me. -
You can scan any stellar object simply by being close enough, targeting the object, and pointing at it. The scanner you are shooting actually sends out a pulse that locates any stellar bodies within 500 ls of you, so you can then target them. You can scan every body (that isn't marked as scanned by default) once and sell that data at any starbase more than 20 ly away. It is an excellent way to make money starting off, as most systems are unscanned by default unless they have really large populations. As for trading, a lot of the in-game trading information is wrong, so you'll simply have to learn which types of bases supply and demand which commodities. A good start is to buy metal at a refinery base and transport it to an industrial base.

By that definition, I'd bring back up Jovovich. Surely the reason people keep watching Resident Evil movies is because she's in it, right? And she had several action scenes in Fifth Element if you want to call that her breakthrough, but she was first a main character in Resident Evil I guess. I can't argue for/against Dazed and Confused, not having seen it.

I think there's some bugs with some of the carry-over stuff from one character to the next. I had a Scion, so I got to pick two legacies. I picked Rival and Shipmate, which should give me 50% of the deceased captain's iron and hearts, as well as a gun and a crew member. Since my first captain was a military man, I have 50 base iron, plus I improved it several times with secrets during the game, yet I only ended up with 36 iron with my next character. Similarly, my hears was only a couple higher than the default. Finally the gun I brought across morphed into the default starting weapon, but now the 500 echo gun listed in the store has crappy stats that match the starter weapon so now only the 200 echo gun is worth anything. Edit: Also the wiki is in incredible disrepair, with information that's several builds outdated.

They've fixed a lot of the balance issues and every time I thought I'd hit a doldrums, something else has come up to do. I've retired my first captain and passed on a beefy deck gun and a zea-side mansion to my daughter.

They should send out little Mario commemorative coins to even up the balance when they finally close the site.

Yeah, it answers it enough. My original comment was half question and half "that's a really weird thing to tout on your Steam video" comment.
