Crap, stupid back button on my mouse ate my post. The only thing with charges that's worth worrying about (and probably avoiding for now) is the Black King Bar, since it's expensive and each use causes it to decay. Since you like support, I'm guessing you're thinking about either the Drum or the Magic Wand. For the Drum, just hit them at the start of a team fight, don't worry about it running out of charges as it's still decent even when empty and can be recharged by re-buying the 875 recipe (I just learned that last part myself for the first time.) For the Wand, it's best used as a surprise during or running from a fight. The heal isn't big enough to be useful except as a lifesaver or maybe for the extra mana to just barely give you enough to hit your Ulti. As for getting duplicate items, I wouldn't worry about it at lower levels. Having an extra wasted aura isn't a big deal when it's hard to even get 5 player corralled in the same place. And then Wards I guess, but no one really buys them at lower levels.

Yes, that's the problem.Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad are amongst the effected chips. This morning's patch might have fixed it. If not, there's an AMD beta driver I downloaded from here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx If you're not running and AMD video card, I don't know how to help ya.

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I think I just didn't understand what the Hexipals were supposed to do. Like, I know if I wire it this way, it makes this certain motion, but what am I supposed to do with that information? I would have been much more annoyed if I hadn't looked at a guide and knew I needed to take screenshots of certain configurations so I could duplicate them later. -
Daily rewards and the forward base of operations stuff is all I know of at the moment, and I haven't even unlocked the FBO yet.

I'm lucky enough to still only had a couple of those experiences in my hundred or so games. Are you using the recommended builds list? They're not perfect by any means, but it can give you a general idea what you should be purchasing. Edit: Also, I played HotS last week. It's a pretty good game.

I found Experienced to be about the right difficulty to me. It was hard enough to make me restart once or twice, but things were loose enough to let me pull off some pretty silly crap on the last mission.

I'd imagine that Kojima Productions folks didn't have to worry about being reassigned to janitorial positions. That, or that's why Kojima and Konami had a falling out.

Sorry, I meant to edit my post and forgot. Already taken I'll keep my eye out and see if I have any friends who got one.

This didn't get much play in the Random Thought about Video Games thread like I was hoping, so I'll post it here where people might be willing to have some discussion about it. It's particularly relevant now as I've just watched the Giant Bomb Ground Zeroes show and man I want to buy MGS5 so bad. My resolve on that point has definitely weakened some since I wrote this post. i guess my question is where to people stand on getting the game, regardless of the troubling aspects? No game is perfect, but this one is decidedly less than perfect. I skipped GTA5 for less.

Official Giant Bomb Thread Mostly for Complaining About Dan

I forget the exact context, but when they're talking about the submissions for the Indie Megabooth, unsigned code was the big concern. Obviously, it's not going to be easy (or really have a point) for a small company to sign code at development milestones just for distribution for press demos. I don't know what the answer is really.- 1367 replies

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS

I saw it at PAX and it looked pretty slick. It was in a case, but there was no way I could have told it from a genuine Nintendo article. -
I got a chance to swing by the PAX booth and got a Vulture skin. I don't think I'll ever drive a Vulture so I'm willing to toss it to someone on here who will use it. Edit: Taken

I know there's been some tipping discussion on this thread before, so I just wanted to note the Taxi I just took had options of 20, 25, or 30 percent for tip. Considering I was taught 15 percent is a standard tip, I'm a bit annoyed that the only options were way above what I'd consider reasonable for the fairly lousy service I received.

Anyone in Seattle, I'm off work and have begun drinking (at a reasonable pace) and will be around until 8pm when the GB thing starts

Far Cry 5 confirmed to have jamming guns and a debilitating disease. Also, it will never come out. -
I didn't want to crap up the excitement in the MGS V thread anymore, so I thought I'd throw this here instead. I suppose it could also be worth putting in the feminism thread as well, but whatever. After watching all of Metal Gear Scanlon, I had almost talked myself in to picking up Ground Zeroes, then The Phantom Pain in a week or two, despite the news of bad working conditions coming out of Konami, Kojima leaving, and the famous Paz scenes in Ground Zeroes. Then I watched the Giant Bomb Peace Walker stream. My wife happened to sit down about half way through and stayed until Paz and Metal Gear Zeke scene, where she is inexplicably in her underwear in a walking tank that then inexplicably decides to fill with water. My wife tactfully left at this point, but it's like the third time I've been watching Metal Gear on our big screen when something like this has happened. I'm tired of being embarrassed by what is otherwise a really cool seeming series of games. I'm so angry because I'd really like to play it, but this extraneous bullshit just isn't worth it.

Yeah I just read through a guide of how to find them. That's a pretty cool feature, but it also kinda sucks that some of the set bonuses for them are so powerful.

I never bothered with the secret monsters in YMBAB. Maybe that's why the last few missions were tough?
-
There's been some discussion in the PAX 2014 thread already. I'll just recap by saying I'm planning on going to the Giant Bomb events on Thursday and Friday, then attending PAX itself with my wife on Sunday. I have an extra Friday ticket that my wife won't be able to use, if anyone is in the area and needs it.

There are several cheat functions that you unlock after saying yes to the IM conversation. They are pretty much necessary to get 100%, as several of the clips are single common word responses.

I've dropped a reminder on my phone to send these off when I get home.

It sounds like you missed the best part of Home Improvisation, the part where you can use a drill to put new holes and pegs in any of the furniture. That's when it starts to get real modern art.

I have a bunch on crabby things I want to say about MGS5, but I think it's really covering up for the fact that I really want to play it, but I'm conflicted on the content as well as the method of production and I'm trying to resist buying it anyway.
