I always got the feeling that he was just being war buddies and was a bit shocked when I expressed interest.
-
I didn't like the opening at all, especially the bit where you can even walk straight.
-
Oh yeah, not begrudging his choice at all, just sad that it's not likely we'll see something that's uniquely

I never used quiet much during the campaign because D-Dog is ace. She did help me quite a bit with the parasite unit mission where you have to fight though.

Yeah, I guess that's the other half of my concerns. Without the ability to shoot twice, you can never kill anything before it advances on you, so I don't understand how you're supposed to survive. With the frontliners, you get just get up in someone's face and trade blows, which gives two attacks per round since you no longer have to move. With the gunners, it seems like it would pretty easy to pull a chess move and fork (be in attack range for two enemies,) forcing the computer to either move each guy and get no attacks, or take a double hit next round. Honestly, the shotguns seem like the best class, if you can manage to position enemies where the knockback is blocked so you can hit someone for 10 points of damage in one round. *shrug* Obviously, veteran units would change all this. I don't think Austin had a single unit promote while he was playing. From what I saw though, I can't imagine ever bothering with a sniper on my team at the start, which means I'd never get a veteran anyway. Edit: Despite all this, I'm intrigued. I might pick it up once a few more balance patches are out and it looks a little more stable.

Ha, I joked that Brad might be going to Valve when he said he was moving to Seattle. That's a bummer, I guess we'll never see another game from him. That's both a joke at Valve never releasing games and also a serious and sad comment that, if anything, he'll have a credit on a Valve game, but it won't be "from him" in the same way that smaller DF games are.

Interesting. sounds like the kind of creepy I like. I might pick this up....

I saw the Giant Bomb video for this, and I really want to play it, but I don't really enjoy classic horror games (mostly the jump scares and the gore.) I guess what I want is Gone Home, but a lot more creepy, without the outright horror. Maybe Tacoma will deliver on that. Reading your description, maybe this delivers on that. I dunno.

I've been going back and doing a few here and there, they are really good, but I don't plan on doing those Parasite Unit missions again.
-
Hmm, I wonder why this didn't show up on search. I ended up posting in the Shadowrun thread before. I backed. it looks awesome. I will be bummed if they don't get the full mercs campaign in, but I doubt they'll miss that goal.

Ug on NPC interdictions. If I get interdicted by a cop who just wants to check me out despite never having smuggled once in my career, I'm going to choke someone.

Hmm, so I watched the Giant Bomb Quicklook this morning. Obviously, that's never the best situation to demonstrate gaming skills, but I couldn't see a way to really use the snipers effectively, considering their range band is one square wide, and you can't shoot over your allies. You're pretty much in the situation of having to move, then fire, and then that would be your whole turn.

His feet look like they're facing toward the camera, which means that probably isn't actually a crack.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
Dewar replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
I wish that I had the money to hire ridiculously expensive lawyers to argue about ridiculously inconsequential matters like this. We'd see how an EULA stands up in court. -
I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of doing something, then returning to base, then going back and doing something again. That something could be a side-op, or literally redoing an earlier mission in the game to pick up a missed goal, or just wandering in the world for a while Fultoning. You definitely don't need to do a single Extreme, Total Stealth, or OSP mission to get the last two missions. I know because I didn't do them. You definitely need to return to base on occasion though, because there are some cut scenes that only fire when you go back to base. Raising your bond with Quiet may or may not be necessary. Considering she's entirely optional according to Kojima, I'd expect that it's probably not. However, I would recommend maxing her bond anyway, the mission that you only get when you max our her bond is frustrating, but also one of the bigger "story" chunks in the game that isn't on a tape. As a side note, I don't understand why this seems to be a pain point for so many people, when I pretty much just breezed through the end bits. Sure, there were a couple of sections where I had no gold side-ops and no new (non-replay) missions, but I just did an old mission or a couple of side-ops and it popped for me pretty quickly. I wonder what I did different. Or maybe I was just having so much fun that I wasn't rushed to see the end? I dunno.

Oh, yeah, OK, I went Mages as well.

I feel like an amnesiac. I don't remember a thing that happens in that game after the well.

I fell into the uPlay trap last time I played Heroes of Might and Magic so I'll pass this time. Also I found King's Bounty which was enough Heroes to last me a while anyway.

I love dressing up. This year my wife is going as Passepartout from the game 80 Days. I thought I'd maybe go as one of the steam-punk mechanic ladies. This will be our third year going to a local bar with a costume contest and karaoke. This year I'm inviting like 20 people and hoping to pack the place.

I dusted off my old Dawn of War 2 save this weekend and played through the Chaos Rising campaign. Man, I really love how they structured that game. It almost feels like Dota2 at times, a game of positioning and using the right abilities at the right time. Unfortunately, the second expansion, Retribution, has lost some of the charm by dropping the reoccurring characters and allowing you to play as a bunch of different races, which just feels like it's watering down the experience.

Everything I've heard says that the PS4 exclusive strikes are the worst strikes.
-
It's almost all in the tapes unfortunately. There is some good stuff there though.

Wait, what was the big decision?

Man, I guess I'm the only person who likes snipers?
