  1. That sounds like less fun, but then I don't engage in Steam sales the way I used to either.
  2. I think I'm going to pretend that I didn't make the stupid decision of buying $15 of DLC when it was on sale last month and quietly uninstall this.
  3. I Had A Random Thought...

They all have a tiny little Mr. Fusion inside.
  4. The advantage of having an external drive is that the drive is only running when you plug it in, so the parts that are vulnerable to wear don't die as fast. The disadvantage (besides the obvious "it could get lost") is that there are added components that make up the enclosure that can fail, which you might or might not be able to get around by ripping it apart and hooking the drive up manually.
  5. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

4th tier in Strong Back, which requires Strength 6 and level 30. I've spent 6 hard earned perk points to get as far as the second tier, and now I'm kinda regretting my decision. I really just need to let the collector go. Or at least stop picking up weapons and only pick up crafting stuff. I dunno.
  6. Just Cause 3

I keep forgetting this is coming out this year. I should probably take some time to play around a little more in Just Cause 2. I came to it much after the fact and only put an hour or so in.
  7. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

I just moved the majority of my items to the Drive-In since it's become the place that I've done the most building at, and it doesn't seem as glitchy as Sanctuary, but now I found another building area that's pretty large with a few prefab structures, but with plenty of room to grow, so I might move again. Plus, it's got Mr. Goodfeels.

I have a feeling that it has to do with your character level. I seemed to hit some break point earlier this week where Raiders got much more aggressive, had power suits and combat armor, and I also had my first raider attack shortly after. To grow a settlement, you need to have a recruitment beacon active, and have more food and water than necessary to sustain your population. Note, that food actually has to be worked by someone. It's not enough to have 20 farm plots if your numbers only say you're getting 6 food.
  9. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

You can assign each person to a bed and it works most of the time, but every time a new person shows up they're gonna sleep in your bed again until you assign them one.
  10. Life

Ug, my first time having a multi-day power outage. I generally have enough things with batteries to entertain myself, but my Wife was less thrilled. Also, having to tend to a fish tank with no power is a pain in the ass. If power's not on when I get home from work, I'm going to have to do some pretty serious work to keep the fish healthy.
  11. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

Major benefits I have seen from the building system: 1) Being able to build your own stores is handy, and the top level ones have a ton of really good and interesting stock 2) Using the flare gun to call in aid is dependent on the number of folks you have near by 3) Artillery strikes 4) Free caps and small aid/junk items from stores, scavenger posts, and farms 5) Loot from cleaning up raider attacks None of them are really indispensable, but I have enjoyed the building system so far, so I keep playing around with it.
  12. Kerbal Space Program

Aerodynamic surfaces help stability quite a bit, more than they probably should really. Also, having a Kerbal who is a pilot driving and using T to turn on SAS.
  13. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

I finished the first mission with the Brotherhood, but didn't want to join as I didn't like the idea of getting ordered around, and now with main plot developments I'm not sure what I should do.
  14. Life

Someone somewhere up there could make the decision to hire someone, despite the hiring freeze. It might be way above anyone you talk to day-to-day, but someone has the power.
  15. Anyone actually put any time into Legacy of the Void? I really enjoyed the campaigns of the first two parts of Starcraft 2 and would love to know if this new one lives up them.
  16. I will not be home yet, but would love to watch a stream. Especially convenient if you could set it to archive so I can watch it later.
  17. I've been going back and watching some of the videos from before I followed the site. I've been mainly the Ryan ones, and also Quicklooks for any major releases. It's been fun, but I kind of dread getting to July 2013.
  18. Life

My last boss gave me the advice that sometimes you just have to let a few balls (or in this case chainsaws) drop, or else the higher ups are never going to accept that there's a problem. It's not always the easiest thing to do, but it's something to keep in mind at least.
  19. I Had A Random Thought...

At least they have a no-commercial version now. (And the thread circles back around)
  20. Intoxicated:

    Absinthe?
  21. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

Might be time to plug in the Joysticks again to take a break from Fallout.
  22. What we learn is that Sony doesn't like change.
  23. I decided to import some other official figures from Japan instead and see what quality they are. http://www.play-asia.com/animal-crossing-soft-vinyl-figure-totakeke-and-shizue/13/707qq9 Might still buy the single Amiibo from Japan so I don't have to waste money on the game when I don't have a Wii-U. http://www.play-asia.com/amiibo-animal-crossing-series-figure-shizue-winter-clothes/13/708x77
  24. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Also the length being a more reasonable 25-ish hours, no random battles, and time travel puzzles that were at least somewhat clever. Oh and a story line that is fairly cohesive, even if it has a few "nonsensical diversions." It's one of the few RPG games of its time that you could ask me "why are you here at this particular time" and I could usually answer.
  25. Backlog Busters

All of the different menus are accessed by clicking different buildings in your space center view. There are a track of easy missions that will get you going and eventually lead you to the Mun (a bit of a steep climb to that last step.) Don't forget you can upgrade your various buildings at the space center, some of them unlock some pretty useful functionality. Finally, beware when looking up tutorials that you're looking at recent ones, there were a lot of changes to how the economy works during the beta.
