  1. Giantbomb has a video on it. I came out of it wanting to pick it up, but it's definitely a bit different. Did you play Long Live the Queen?
  2. Idle Food - Cooking!

I mean you can get a slow cooker as small as 2 qt. Mine's a 6 qt and there are times I wish it was smaller.
  3. Intoxicated:

Around here Jack has a $2 premium over most other (non-bourbon) whiskeys around here. Kinda there with Bombay Saphire
  4. Idle Food - Cooking!

A lot of slow cooker recipes trade on the fat from the meat melting then helping to conduct the heat. You might need to put some vegetable broth in the bottom to help steam some of the juices out of the vegetables. No specific recipes though.
  5. General Video Game Deals Thread

It is depressing to see what I've heard are fairly good games at 50% off before they're even out of Early Access (Darkest Dungeon for instance.)
  6. Intoxicated:

I prefer Jim Beam myself, if I'm going for a cheap "with coke" drink.
  7. General Video Game Deals Thread

Hmm, most of the things on my wish list are at about the same price they were for fall, but I have a bit more money and time right now so that might be good.
  8. I think there's a tendency for long-running series such as Rainbow Six to say "it plays like another one of those" and not really go down the criticism route about the game play. I, for one, liked the shooting in the R6 beta well enough, but wasn't a fan of the amount of content and the strength of the co-op versus AI (which they didn't touch on at all.) So I guess a discussion on pricing met half my demand, and I wish they'd talked about the co-op more. But then Ubi isn't really talking up the co-op either, so who can blame them for ignoring it.
  9. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

How's your hard drive speed? I've noticed on my own machine that certain games tank really hard when trying to load textures off of a drive on the fly instead of preloading them. I haven't noticed that for Elite specifically, but I haven't played much lately.
  10. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

This is not true depending on how your conversation goes. You can get kicked out and then be on a one-way ticket after that point.
  11. For reference, the Kickstarter reward reads: "The Jig is Up" is probably one of the best things I've seen in a Kickstarter campaign. Edit: Oh, and this as well from the pitch: Edit 2: And finally, from the FAQ Since the original ETA was 18 months, and the campaign ended in March 2014, and he's been dropping hints as the FAQ suggested he might, it's reasonable to assume that Frog Fractions might be out there already somewhere.
  12. Recently completed video games

Shadow of Mordor ruined a lot of the good will I had left for Assassin's Creed. i realize there's a bit of a difference in density in the worlds and such, but in Mordor I can count on one hand the number of times that I was trying to go up a wall and didn't, or went up a wall when I wasn't trying. Part of it is the feel of the movement, but another part of it is making clear what's climbable and what isn't. Uncharted suffers from the same thing, they try their best but there are so many times that I look at a ridge on a wall and have to wonder if that's something I can grab or not.
  13. Demon's Souls

Took me a while to find a page on them that wasn't spoiler-filled. http://demonssouls.wikia.com/wiki/Crystal_Lizard
  14. Oh, and if you change the memory configuration and it asks you to either go into setup or "accept defaults" it means set everything in the BIOS to defaults. That gave me a heart attack when my drives were no longer in a RAID setup. Thankfully, turning RAID back on re-linked them. Who resets a BIOS to default because of a pulled memory stick?
  15. After months of complaining about my RAID array and/or video card drivers crashing, I finally got my BIOS settings right to boot to a Memtest86+ USB stick, ran a memory test, and figured out I have a (very) bad RAM stick. Now I feel like an idiot for letting it go this long. Also, because I got it second hand from a computer building friend, so I'm stuck with a missing stick for the moment. I can't decide if running dual channel is worth taking out another stick, leaving me with 16gb, or if I'd get more of a benefit from having three sticks totaling 24gb but without dual channel.
  16. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

I did the full 64 bit horizons install last night. It kept my HDD occupied and basically unusable for a couple of hours as it downloaded and installed. I really need to get an SSD.
  17. Fallout: New Vegas

Having played both recently. Fallout 3 is even worse
  18. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Ubisoft doesn't make stealth games anymore.
  19. Bayonetta 2 was Wii-U exclusive right?
  20. Destiny

My sense of value is all out of whack I guess. I can't imagine paying $60 to level up a character. Why would I bother playing if that's how much of a chore it is. I also saw reviews on Sublevel Zero complaining that they beat it in six hours and that's a horrible deal for a $15 game. I dunno. Money is weird.
  21. Oh, I just realized I had a chance to see Wattam at PAX but passed it up. It looked... shallow? But then I guess so does Noby Noby Boy.
  22. Kerbal Space Program

Can you pump fuel through the grabber clamps? I'm considering trying to rescue Valentina by fueling up her current ship instead of trying to pick her up in a different ship, but there's no docking port on her lander.
  23. Romance of the Three Kingdoms Maker

I'll see if I can prod my wife into taking a look at this.
  24. Kerbal Space Program

You could always send an unmanned probe to land and then transmit data. I've sent a few of those out to help argument my science.
