I saw the Giant Bomb video and am actively looking and purchasing. One thing that was unclear is the real money currency. Approximately how much does it cost to buy a mastery track for a new character? What about card packs?

The curses in the depths aren't bad, and provide some practice for later zones when it's a much bigger concern.

Ah, it was my first time playing and the little bit I did know, about not going down toward the skeletons, put me in the mindset of "if it seems way too hard, you're going the wrong way." It wasn't until I hit the Valley of Drakes that I realized that I might have screwed myself and took a brief look at a guide.

I did the same thing. The Capra demon was so hard I just assumed I'd went the wrong way.

A Dedicated Thread For Talking About Star Trek Episodes

Why haven't any of them been court marshaled? -
After flitting around between various D&D podcasts, I settled on Friends at the Table for a bit. Austin walker and some of the StreamFriends folks, It's a great mix of comedy, serious business, and philosophy that not a single other podcast or youtube show has hit. http://friendsatthetable.net/

I really enjoyed the DoW2 campaign with just a few units, but I feel like it should almost be a different genre of game. It feels closer to Diablo than Warcraft to me. At this point, I'd try either style of game.

I generally will save scum my way through playing a few times, with the end goal of being able to ace a run with no saves. This is especially great in this game with the various challenges, so you can try to get a bunch of those, then pick the one you think you can execute on.

I ended up buying BS1 one PC so I can play through again. I'll take my time and see how I feel after playing it again. I remember it absolutely hammered my iPad, so seeing it again on PC might be a treat.

Idle Thumbs 260: Charge Guy, Tree Guy, Ice Guy, Bendy Guy

I'm so happy that Hitman is getting more press. It's the Hitman game I've wanted ever since I played through Blood Money with my roommate at college. -
I have never heard of Gunman Chronicles.

Offworld, an economic RTS from Soren Johnson

Are you playing online? I mean it says that's the difficulty of the game online, so if I can't beat it there I don't imagine I'd do well with any of the other game modes. Edit: Yup, did just as bad online, lost ahead of even a guy who didn't join then AI took over 5 minutes in : ( -
Offworld, an economic RTS from Soren Johnson

Woof. For the life of me, I can't beat the top practice game. At one point I started pausing and checking each and every building, building the same ones they were, and still I fell behind. At least this last time i lasted more than 5 minutes, but I was still the first bought out (even though I had second to lowest stock price.) Edit: Just tried to watch a replay and apparently everything it recorded tonight was recorded as the wrong version? I made sure to swtich off the beta and verify the cache. -
Idle Thumbs 259: Breckon's Similar Sausage Face
Dewar replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
While I do watch a person or two on Youtube who are perfectionist mechanics lords, I watch far more people who are either just learning a game for the first time, or just plain bad at the game. You get better conversations that way -
Do you have UI scaling turned on in Windows 10? Is the game displaying at the proper resolution for that screen? Either can cause really wierd UI offsets like you're talking about.

Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)
Dewar replied to dartmonkey's topic in Video Gaming
I guess my general tactic, when possible, is to buy every other console, so I find backwards compatibility very useful. That's part of the reason I didn't pick up a PS4 or XB1 until I got one as a present. -
Kerbal Space Program 1.1.1 released yesterday, patching up a lot of bugs from the 1.1 release. The new lighting model is really nice, but man does it make it hard to land in the dark, lights or no. There's also still some interface glitches, but if you've taken a break, now is a good time to get back in.

Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)
Dewar replied to dartmonkey's topic in Video Gaming
If the NX can play Wii-U games (and by extension, Wii games as well) I'll probably buy one. I haven't had a chance to play Nintendo games on a big screen in a while. -

So I'm on the Next_Version branch, but this released today, right? So I can turn off the beta? But it still says version 0.9.9981? -

Looks like Arumba is doing some sponsored videos. His older early access multiplayer videos are worth a watch as well -
I liked the concept of Recettear, but the execution was iffy. I'd love a refined version of it.

Also the new Zelda will follow the footprints of Twilight Princess in coming out for both WiiU and NX. -
Dark Souls 3 {Dark souls 2 successor [Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor)]} (Bloodborne's something)

It's happened to me once or twice as well. i didn't summon for the Dancer fight, but maybe that's a particularly bad one for some reason? -

Updated to the newest, played through all the tutorials and all but the last practice games. No issues seen, and I'm really impressed at how far the tutorials have come since I played last. -
I've pretty much figured out that I don't have the skills I need to hang in FPS's anymore, but Titanfall 2 is probably the one FPS I'll still buy. I can't wait.
