Weird how everyone else is live actors but her father is some sort of weird warped CG person.

There was already a mod that kind of manually did that. It's awesome that they're making it official. You can go Crusader Kings > Europa Universalis > Hearts of Iron > Cold War

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
Dewar replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
Fair enough It's not that hard to draw your own sprites. -
Yes, it is worth at least puttering around in Albion Prelude. The UI can be quite obtuse and anything you learn now will most likely be helpful when Rebirth comes out. Edit: Nice, last I checked there wasn't a release date. Quote from the website says:

The marriage and education systems are really only useful for two things. 1) For your heir, Making him/her the bes they can be. Some of the traits (such as genius) are hereditary, so if you want a kid with high stats, you'll have a better chance if you grab a spouse with high stats. 2) For everyone who isn't you heir, getting alliances and improving relations. A vassal gets a +20 opinion of you if you send your kid to them to train, and marriages get you alliances so you can call people in to help you in wars. Generally, when choosing spouses, I go for best stats for myself and all of my children (just in case my intended heir dies) and best alliance for cousins, brothers, and sisters. For choosing educators, I go with either myself or my wife (who of course has incredible stats) for my first few children, and whatever vassal has the lowest positive opinion (so around 10-ish) of me for the less important children and other relatives.

Greatest would have been having that burner on high at the end.

I decided I'm going to get this to play with a few friends from another forum. I'd be happy to spread my time around, steam account name is D3war.
-
I'm more excited for this than the X1 or PS4
-
Wow, it feels like this really came out under the radar.
-
Yeah, there's a bunch of exclusives I want to play and every time I think about getting a next gen console I find myself think about wanting to play Uncharted, Infamous, Disgaea, Journey, Last of Us, Heavy Rain, etc. There's a whole new set of games that I don't have to fight for a pre-order to get.
-
I think I might get a PS3 on PS4 release day.

I haven't gotten to that episode of the Nerdist yet, so I can't comment on that. As far as the article goes; it's a bit pedantic, but iIf he's not willing to say the name of the actual game, I don't call that offical news. Either way it was mainly meant to be a somewhat mean-spirited joke with my dry sense of humor.

It has been. There has never been any official news on the project.

With the way the digestive tract wanders around, you're only getting a foot or two of gravity over the entire 30 foot run of the intestine. I imagine the swallowing and stomach parts of the system function better with gravity, but that's a short enough run that muscles can take care of it. I wonder what keeps astronauts from having acid reflux all the time without gravity keeping the stomach acid in the bottom of the stomach.

Or how about guys saving guys and girls saving girls? I enjoyed the first Gears of War because it was essentially a couple of best-friends watching each others' backs. They kinda got away from that as the series went on, but I really dug that. Everyone is harder to relate to than giant burly space marines. They're a simple sterotype that is the easy way out for writters, since pretty much everyone is familar with them (either from movies, games, or even books.) Gaming has yet managed to make a really complicated character, but space marine is pretty much the least complicated.

After several starts that have piddled out, I finally beat a game Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes. Since it's a Civilizations type game, I'll never really be done with it, especially because I actually had a really good time playing it. The beginning starts off a lot like the first few Elemental games, but there's a lot more strategic depth when you get to the end game that I was really thrilled with. $40 might be a bit steep to pay for it, but if it's ever on sale I'd recommend any Civ fan looking for something a bit different pick it up.

I like helping/rescuing people, both in games and in real life. There's a certain sort of feeling of both warmth and power behind the concept of having what someone else needs and then giving of it freely. I am much more interested in the parts of games where you're rescuing one person than I ever am in the "save the world" stuff that's gotten really popular in big budget games these days. All that being said, I'd be just as happy rescuing a guy as a girl, so long as there's some real emotional attachment there and it's not just a throwaway character.

There's been two Reddit AMA's that I've been interested in during the last couple of days (The Mars rover folks did one for the 1st anniversary and a rogue Seattle PD guy apparently got on there and said some pretty interesting stuff.) Up until now, I've been avoiding places like Reddit and SA, but maybe there's something worth seeing there I guess?

If I'm one of the harder workers at my company, then the crappier workers must do almost nothing.
-
So, the same guys who make ARMA have a Mars rover sim. I wonder if it's going to be as accurate as their military shooters? http://store.steampowered.com/app/244030/

I can understand that. I'm generally pretty good at fooling folks in games with a lot of talking (diplomacy comes to mind) but I feel like a dick and I hate doing it.
-
I only ever lost one runner the whole game, so I guess I never noticed that.
-
Those people aren't Fallout fans I guess.

That was my game of the year when it came out. Arkham City is good too, but the open world bits and increase in the number of gadgets hurt it in some ways.

I think I was at 60% or so when I made the run. Right around level 30 when I started. The whole run up at the end felt like it took forever since everyone there seems to block your sword swings so I was just doing the fidget lightning combo over and over again while trying not to get hurt. What surprised me was simply the amount of combat between save points, but I only ever died once so it didn't end up setting me back too far. I just had the tension of not wanting to be set back 10 minutes of continuous combat. I did, however, use almost every healing item I had during my winning run.
