  1. Crusader K+ngs II

Thank goodness. I wonder if my Georgia game will be playable now.
  2. XCOM Enemy Unknown

On console's you're buying a new version of the game that is completely stand-alone, so it costs a bit more. On PC it's an expansion that requires the original to play.
  3. I Had A Random Thought...

I watch a lot of Giant Bomb (which does mostly uneditted) and Achievement Hunters (who edit fairly heavily) and I perfer the uneditted stuff cause it feels like the editted ones loose a lot of spontaneity. I definitely think those are better because it's a group talking, rather than just listening to a single person talking into a microphone, though I have been known to watch some single person streams by some of the people involved in the Daily Dota GB streams.

That's the guy who yelled at the Fez guy until he took his ball and went home, right?
  5. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Wow, having never played that game, that is a crazy post.
  6. I think one of the biggest evolutions we've seen in the last few years has been the huge availability of games. So many games on Steam, Mobile, and to a lesser extenet XBLIG have flooded the market. Now the problem on the development side isn't getting your game made, it's getting your game seen. On the consumer side it's not waiting for a game you like to be made, it's digging through the chaff to find the one you want.
  7. Non-video games

You're making me miss the feel of opening boosters of Magic: The Gathering Cards. I never got near as good of a pull as that though.
  8. Spacebase!

I imagine that it follows the same rules as Kickstarter. Nothing is guaranteed. In theory, DF could say this game was "released" last week (it is a functional product, if somewhat lacking in features) and then run away with any remaining money. But then, there's nothing to say that you couldn't buy a complete game that's a buggy mess and never see any satisfaction there either (see The War Z.) I just want to invest in having a direct relationship between consumer and developer. I think it's a positive move for these smaller games, and I have some trust that the DF crew is going to do their best to make sure we get a good game. They might not succeed, but I know they're gonna try, and for $25, that's enough.

I finally got around to completing Costume Quest. It was fun, short, and had some good writting. I found all of the costume pieces except 3 on my own without an FAQ, and all the hide and seek kids except one in the expansion.
  10. Spacebase!

I guess I have the advantage of having bought it because it was a DF game, not because I saw it on Steam, so I knew exactly what I was getting. I pretty much bought it, played an hour, and am now content to wait. But still, if you see the early access label on the Steam page, don't you at least do a google search and see how far along the game is that you're getting? Heck, don't you do that for every game you buy? I mean I was so very close to buying The War Z but I read a few articles and changed my mind.
  11. X Rebirth

Well, this released. Somewhere along the line I forgot to pre-order it and I'm a bit low on cash, so I'll have to pull some strings and see if I can pick it up. Anyone else got it? Edit: Reading some articles seems to indicate that the launch has been a bit rough. Edit2: Hmm... http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/11/15/x-rebirth-preview/#more-176592
  12. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Hmm, maybe I just got lucky then. I think it took me 10-15 tries.
  13. PL4YST4TION 4

I imagine a lot of the graph pretty much equates to "How many consoles were manufactured by the launch date" since pretty much every console sells out, at least at first. Nintendo seems to have its supply chain in fairly good order, and it felt like both the 360 and PS3 were rushed a bit.
  14. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

    The DLC is really good.
  15. Oh, I really really liked the Journeyman project games. I didn't realize that it was the same studio. That's cool at least.
  16. Hmm, I remember thinking that Myst looked like a pretty cool game way back when, but I never played it. I guess that the worst that will happen is that a free game will show up in a year and a half.
  17. Or that the internal components of the PS4 produce less heat for some reason.
  18. I Had A Random Thought...

It's a wierd world we live in. You might as well try it right? Spelunky seems to have been good fodder for a lot of people around here to get started live streaming. http://spelunkyexplorersclub.com/recording-tips/
  19. Intoxicated:

Tonight I go out to drink heavily, despite being unexpectedly on call. This could be an interesting night.
  20. I guess what I'm trying to say is that by virtue of some of these titles on the list being easier to get by digital means than others, it makes comparisons difficult. Battlefield being available on PC (where downloading games is a much more common occurance) makes it hard to compare against GTA (which was digital on day one on the PS3, but not on the XBox, as well as making guesses about how likely a console user is to download a 30gb piece of software) and Pokemon (Nintendo has been really pushing the digital side hard, but we have no idea if it's making a dent or not.)

I never played much of the BF3 campaign, but I've got to say I enjoyed a lot of the BF4 campaign, despite agreeing with most of the negative points in your post (and adding a bit of "it's a buggy mess" on top.) Mainly, I thought a lot of the combat set pieces were well setup and interesting, unlike CoD with all of its infinite spawns and invisible tripwires. The story was pretty bad, but I liked the characters well enough, even if the choice at the end was kind of dumb. I've gotten to the point that I don't feel like I need a ton of choices in my narrative FPS games anymore.

Reminds me of a Harry Potter rip-off game I played called Academagia. Random events, various storylines to follow, areas of the campus to explore. It was promising at the time, but I'm not sure if development is still continuing.
  23. Until sales rating numbers count "digital" sales, they don't mean much.
  24. So, has anyone mentioned this....? http://screenrant.com/star-trek-captain-worf-tv-show-michael-dorn/
