I don't suppose you can just remove the turbo?
-
Ooh, I haven't been watching the team streams as religiously as I had originally planned. Does this mean we're nearing launch?
-
Wait, re-roll only re-rolls the heroes you haven't completed? I thought it reset progress entirely.

Any information helps. I think I'm going to have to grab a friend or two and practice in some bot matches.

Hmm, is there a trick to hitting with the orbiting balls? I had a hard time doing any damage and my healing of my carry was pretty tiny.

Interesting, I caught onto that half way through. I think it was some of the things the sword said, but I don't recall what exactly.

I beat Thomas was Alone today. I wish the ending had a bit more... something. I dunno, anything would have been good I guess. The rest of the game was a pleasure, besides some repeated platformy bits that the developer specifically called out in his commentary. Definitely worth playing. Edit: Also, finally ended my on-again, off-again push through Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. It's certainly no the worst game ever, but it was pretty damn bad. It features mysterious platforming sections where it's not clear what you can hang on and where you can't, guns that are all piss-poor for accuracy while all of the enemies are laser accurate, and pretty lousy check-pointing. I know that it's seven years old at this point, but even compared to Gears or Halo 2 it seems pretty substandard. On the plus side, I'm officially ahead on my games completed/games bought ratio.

So, as a 20 game or so player, what am I supposed to do with IO? I've got him on my 10 hero challenge and I think I'd rather have Mepo.

I'm finally getting some more kitchen items for my new Town House rental. I got a 12" Calphalon pan to go with my smaller pans, as well as nice piece of cast iron and a set of BBQ tongs. Still to be obtained: A cheese grater, paper towel stand, spice rack, and new knives.

The Other Paradox Games (Europa Universalis, Victoria, Hearts of Iron)

Oh... Weath of Nations came out yesterday. I'm not falling for their tricks after RoI. I'll wait a bit. -
On my list that I've been keeping to forward my goal of "beat more games than I buy this year" I eventually had to put in a new column to keep track of things I got for free rather than purchased, or else it would be impossible to keep up. It's a good time to be a gamer.

At one point in my life, I was having these sorts of dreams a couple of times a week. I finally put a pen and paper next to my bed so I could start writting as soon as I woke up. The things written on that pad were so bad, I burned the evidence. Trust me, it wasn't as good as you though it was mid-dream.

... .... ..wow? Edit: In response to the quarterly review. -
I don't know how desperate you are, but I would not accept any employment position that didn't guarantee at least a basic wage, regardless of the status of Indiegogo or Kickstarter goals. If it's really a passion for you, I'd keep one of the two game jobs as a hobby, then go get a full-time paying job somewhere else (even if it's bagging groceries.)

That wage line is constant across all provisions, so it sounds like you have a beef.
-
It sounds like you'd fall under the creative professional employee exemption (from DOL Fact Sheet #17A) Exempt sucks. Everyone should just be paid hourly for the amount of work they do.

: ( New credit card so I was a bit nervous that would happen to me as well.

And... everything except Monday is gone already. Dang that went fast, less than an hour this time. Thank goodness for Twitter notifications.

Being able to be terminated without cause is fairly typical of labor laws in most states, whether it's in the contract or not. The advantage of having you as a contractor instead of an employee is that they aren't obligated to provide things like 401(k) and health care. It's fairly typical around here to hire someone as a contractor for 6 months, and then full-time them is they do well. It's also fairly typical to use contractors for 2-3 month projects and such. Clarifying which they intend for you is a good start. Are they employing you as an independant contractor, or are they bring a contracting company into the mix? If the latter, chatting with your rep over there might offer quite a lot of insight.

Sorry, you're right. I was projecting other posts earlier in the thread onto Merus's post and not reading very carefully. To comment on the actual subject in the post, yes, it worries me that sex is so Taboo and violence is so "normal" in the US.

They intentionally list very few four day passes these days because they want to encourage people to pick up the single days. I believe there were only a couple thousand of them last year, out of 70k total tickets.

PAX tickets are on sale, just in case anyone here cares.

While I'm not generally a gun supporter (I'm kind of ambivalent on the subject in reality) I'd just like to point out that he stabbed three people in his apartment before he ever went on a shooting rampage. While ease of access to guns can definitely be blamed for a lot of tragedies in the US, Rodgers seemed pretty intent on hurting people regardless of the method.

It can be a pretty quick game once everyone understands what's going on. Unfortunately, it also gets a bit samey and too easy to predict once you've played 20 or 30 games. Still a really great time though. I'll always remember sitting in the board game room at the third PAX and playing it for two days straight.
